I am trying to set the default location of both the main and secondary windows for help panes, yet no matter what I try, the settings I use when building the project are not reflected in the output. I have tried to match the exact same settings as used in my prior version of RH 9, yet am having no luck. For example, I have tried to set the main and second window to appear in the lower right hand corner, but the windows show in the upper left corner. Also, when I set for the second window the setting to not show the main window, anytime I call up a second help topic, the main window shows first, with the second overlapped. I never had these problems in RH 9.Might anyone have suggestions on what I may be doing wrong? Thanks,Matt
Response from Elaine R (View the full discussion 11/19/2015): "I can confirm that Responsive HTML5 layouts do work with merged projects (as do Webhelp ones) in RH 11.0.4.291. However, note that you may experience the same problem (or a variation of it) that I did, and that Willam (van Weelden) kindly provided a fix for. (See Re: Merged Responsive HTML5 project TOC problem)." Unfortunately, we cannot download scripts that are not sanctioned by Adobe.
I have added a custom script to my RoboHelp 11 project. In the Register Event dialog I enter my function to call and select the PostWordDocUpdate event. I then click OK and then Save All in my project. If I close the project and re-open the event is no longer registered so I need to preform this task every time I open the project. Is there a way to have the event registration saved?
Hi All,Need your help in creating script for shading DHTML pop-up area.We have recently started using DHTML in Robohelp. In order to distinguish the pop-up area from rest of the content, we are looking for ideas to shade the DHTML pop-up at project level. Any help towards achieving this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,Adi
Hey there,I am trying to make use of Google Fonts in a RoboHelp 2015 doc and have tried what has been suggested here - Adobe RoboHelp: Use Custom Fonts | WvanWeelden.eu and have followed the steps detailed, however have not been successful.I am on a Mac that has "Parallels / Win 10" installed and have checked that the fonts are installed locally in Windows (they are) and have also added them to the Baggage file as instructed. These fonts however do not show up Edit/Character dropdown as a selection... Like I have said, they are installed in the Win Fonts folder.Seems that something is not right here and I am hoping someone can shead some light on this for me.The other issue that I am having is related to the use of "Google Fonts" and the error message that I am getting when loading the RoboHelp file.I have added the "@import" link to the very top of my default css file as described in the Adobe RoboHelp: Use Custom Fonts | WvanWeelden.eu tutorial and have directly made use of the @15521
Now that RH 2015 is available, is there any way of knowing how long RH 11 will be supported? How long should we hang on to RH 11 before it becomes necessary to move up to 2015?thanx!Lon
We have been using RH for years and the current version of our CHM file was compiled on RH8. Now the person who maintained the help system is no longer around and I, new to RoboHelp, am trying to make the RH8 project work with the trial version of RH2015. The build declares itself to be successful although there is a HHC5003 error. The resulting CHM file loads normally and seems to have everything in it. But clicking on TOC and index entries most often has no effect (i.e. does not change the content panel) but sometimes works correctly. The pattern seems random and varies from build to build. The clicks give an audible feedback whether they work or not.Clicking on the HHActiveX ribbon, however, always displays a topic. The registry shows that the 2015 version of HHActiveX.dll is registered. Anyone see how I could fix this?Bill Below
Hi all,I have created a single HTML page using Robohelp. When I open that that link in a mobile browser, it opens but I have to zoom out to view that page. Can someone suggest to resolve this issue. it should look normal. when I create a help file of multiscreen layout, it will look properly, but when a single page is created and hosted on the website, it is zooming in and the user ahs to zoom out to see it. Please suggest.Thanking you in anticipation,Sahitya
I have tried numerous times to add a screen layout. Every single time, RoboHelp completely shuts down. I have rebooted my computer twice - once with a regular restart - once by completing shutting it off and letting it sit for 5 minutes.Suggestions?
Hello,I have a large WebHelp project that includes over 2300 pdf's as baggage, and I'm routinely adding more pdf's to the project. These are contained in multiple folders. I'm concerned that I will hit a limit for the number or size of baggage files. Is there a limit for the number of baggage files that can be included in a project? Is there a limit for the number of baggage files that can be included in a folder? Is there a limit on the individual or cumulative size of the files? Thanks for info,Jeanne
I just finished a major update and have about 70 topics (out of approx. 900) that have to go to SMEs for review. The 70 mainly have tables of GUI field names and descriptions and the SME will have to provide any missing/outdated descriptions. So I want to generate an output, preferably Word, that the SME can review and update as needed. But even after I condition out the books that I don't need to send, the generated Word file is missing great chunks of material.I've also tried copying/pasting the tables to Excel and Word without luck.Any ideas are appreciated.
Have a great time.
Is anyone using RoboHelp 2015?With earlier versions, I was able to drag and drop topics from the Projects pod to the ToC; however, with RH2015, these only show one at a time -- I can work with one or the other, but I can't see how to display them both together, which would allow me to drag and drop again. I need to be able to do this with the Baggage Files folder (to the ToC).Lon
Hi,I am using Robohelp 11. I have selected the font for all my paragraphs at Vedana and size as 10. When I see the preview I find the text size much smaller (size 8). The tables in my project have the same font and size (Verdana 10) . The preview shows this correctly. I am facing this problem for my paragraphs only. What could be the problem and how do I fix it.
Hello. When I generate CHM output from RH 2015, the TOC is missing, but the Search and Glossary tabs are present. I'm not opening the file from a server, but from my desktop. I copied it from the server to my desktop and renamed it. The file was originally created in, I think, RH 9, but I've successfully generated CHM output with this file in RH 10. Any ideas? Thanks!Dawn
(FM12 with RH11.)In FM, when the proper conditional expression is selected, a conditional Head1 and its page break vanish as expected and the content that follows it flows from the "previous page." That is, the condition tagging causes both the content of the Head1 and the fact of the Head1 (including its built-in Page Break Before) to vanish. I've used this for years to single-source feature-set versions of a product. Works well. After setting conditions in RH (with or without setting Apply FrameMaker Conditional Text Build Expression), the generated output from RH does not behave the same way. (Neither does the project tree or Design view, but they are not as important as the output.) RH breaks the output at the (tagged-to-vanish) Head1 while RH omits the content of that Head1. That is, RH does not respect the tagging the way that FM does. RH hides the content of the Head1 but not the fact of the Head1. Uh, is this by design?Regardless: do workarounds (within FM or within RH or both)
I have a help application created with Adobe RoboHelp 7As I can make the chm file opens in a predefined format or wsMaximized?
I am using RoboHelp 2015 version 12.0.2.384 & Captivate 9 version 9.0.0.223.I generate Responsive HTML5 help including Captivate HTML5 demonstrations.RoboHelp inserts an "Open In New Tab" link on the demonstration pages. How do I stop Robohelp inserting the link?
RoboHelp 2015Visual Studio Source Control 2010This question probably crosses this forum and the Source Control forum. The Visual Studio Source Control check-in date for the HHC is October 2015 even though we have edited the TOC (in RoboHelp) and checked it back in many times since then. When we compare the server and the local workspace TOCs, they are identical.I spoke with our Team Foundation Server / Source Control administrator. He asked me to look at the contents of the TOC (HHC).When I open the HHC file with Notepad, I only get the info shown in the following screen. There is nothing in the HHC about the books or the topics in the books. (I thought we used to be able to open the HHC in a text editor and verify the book/topic structure.)Should I be concerned that the check-in date does not reflect the most recent check-ins?Thanks.Carol
I have almost given up trying to solve this on my own and cant seem to find any existing documentation to help me address this. (There probably is something, somewhere, but I cant find it. And searching these forums wasnt working well either.) We are using RoboHelp 10.In summary, here is the issue: When I publish to the WebHelp format, there are elements of the skin that are not showing up. I have fiddled with the WebHelp Settings quite a bit, but nothing seems to fix the problem I am seeing. There are multiple problems here, and I am torn over whether I should post these individually, or in one post. Im going to go with one post, so that if someone is searching later, they can see everything in one place as we (hopefully) get this resolved. (We are using a skin called "BlueGrey", but I have these same problems if we use the default layout too, so it's not a skin issue. I think its an output settings issue, but I will be danged if I can figure out what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advanc
Hi,I am running RH 10, and have created a merged project - based on Peter Grainge's instructions. All was working fine for years now really with no issues, until we needed to do a global name change in the help system (product name change). Now when the merged project is generated, the search displays image filenames that are referenced in the html code only .I have run some tests and have determined that when I runa search in the individual child projects, the WebHelp system does not display the reference to the image filename. When I run the master project, however, the search engine seems to pick up the image filename referenced in the code of the child projects. The WebHelp generation settings are the same for all projects - master and children.I have no idea why this is currently happening. Any thoughts on where to look would be appreciated. Thanks,Tannis
Hello all,I'm using RoboHelp HTML 10.0.1.x and have the following Problem:when I try to generate a PDF output from one opened topic (via main menu Datei | Entwurf Drucken or via the content pod context menu PDF für Review erstellen), then all the images of the topic are to large. They don't fit to the page size. If I generate a printed documentation for the whole document everyting is working fine. All images are resized and fit to the paper size DinA4.best regards,jano2002
I am required to generate a project - tried to PDF, .docx, .doc - every time receive the attached error. I have been able to generate another project without any error.I assume there is something 'broken' in the project, have tried 'broken links' and a number of other options. How else can I see what is causing the project to crash?Need to provide this to our management ASAP.Thank you!
Every once in a while, our RH11 applications won't generate a CHM file. It happens to me and a co-worker about once a week and usually one of the following occurs:RH generates a CHM but the file doesn't have the proper weight. A normal CHM is about 10 MB but the problematic ones are usually no more than 5 KB.RH displays an error message that the file is open in another application and to close the app and try to generate again. Of course, the file is not open anywhere.RH completes the generation process but no CHM is generated. After "generating" the CHM, RH display the completion message asking if we want to view the file, but clicking Yes does nothing. We can usually solve the problem by shutting down RH, rebooting the workstation, or both. But now I've rebooted twice and even completely shutdown my pc, but still cannot generate a CHM. I've even tried changing the destination folder for the CHM, which sometimes works, to no avail. I am able to generate WebHelp.Any ideas? Thanks.
For example, the word note returns no results when entered by itself. When I put it in quotes, I get 33 results. Note is not included in the stop word list. I have not gotten an exhaustive list of words from my customer, but I'd think a word that's not included on the stop list would appear without having to use quotes. There are a few words the customer didn't realize simply aren't in the webhelp. And why does it work with quotes? Words that are on the stop word list will return results if I put them in quotes.A little education would be appreciated here. Let me know if I need to share any other specifics about the webhelp build. Thanks!
