Today I discovered that in our context sensitive help, which I general with Robohelp 10, all the links that are meant to redirect to the help's homepage in the desktop layout instead generated an error page.I contacted the developers, and they said that the system was redirecting to the wrong page: homepage2.htm, instead of homepage.htm, and this had been the case for the past several versions.I provided them with the correct file name: homepage.htmHowever, I am still baffled. Why is Robohelp generating extra homepage files?I restored a previous version, and generated the help. I only received one homepage file. When I generate the current version, I receive homepage.htm and homepage1.htm.And apparently, in previous versions there was also homepage2.htmWhy am I getting these extra files. Are they important? And if not can I delete them?
I recently upgraded from RH9 to RH10 (10.0.1.292). I applied all of the maintenance for RH10 listed on William van Weelden's site and generated WebHelp output. When viewing the output on the server through a browser, I occasionally see a delay in producing the search results list, but the Search progress bar never moves from Searching 0% while the search is executing and finally the search results list is displayed. Has anyone else experienced this?P.S. This may be irrelevant to this issue, but I can use the same search arguments at different times throughout the day and get the same results list of 700+ topics in 2 seconds or in some cases two minutes. I have attributed the difference in elapsed time to server workload or network resources. Could it be problem with a script file?Message was edited by: SHERYL JORNA I just saw a thread that described this problem, https://forums.adobe.com/message/4887676#4887676, but am surprised Adobe has not officially rolled out the fix. @PeterGraing
In Word I often use Shift-F3 to change the case of selected text, toggling between Initial Caps, ALL CAPS, and lowercase. Is there a way of achieving the equivalent In Robohelp? My muscle memory works for other shortcuts, like CTRL-K for a link, which are common between Word and RoboHelp (and other apps, such as Excel), but it fails on this one. I'd be happy to retrain it if there was a new shortcut to learn.(I watched @maxwell Hoffman's webhinar on RoboHelp shortcuts, but it didn't include one for this.)
Product mananger is saying the the CHM file has later information than the HTMs files. Not sure how that could be. Is there any possible way to import CHM File into an existing RoboHelp project file?
Following on from my previous posts, the date and timestamp of updated files are not being updated in RoboSource Control, i.e. the Modified column in the RoboSource Control Explorer. However, it looks like changes are being stored on the server when topics are checked in, as I can right-click a file in source control that I have changed, choose View, and see the amendments in the HTML.Basically, this means that source control isn't recognising that files have changed and therefore when someone tries to get the latest version it doesn’t think there is one because the date and time are the same as previous version.Has anyone experienced this behaviour before or know why the Modified column has suddenly stopped being updated?ThanksJonathan
Using RoboHelp for HTML version 8, I am publishing to my local hard drive. In the source files, I can see a table of contents, but when the output is generated, the TOC doesn't appear. We have used RoboHelp for many many years and the TOC and Index and search would appear in the output. In IE, I have to click the button to allow blocked content, and the TOC still doesn't appear. It is blank in the left hand pane.Any suggestions?Jenny
I used RH way back when, and I thought that, back then, I could name the folder where a project is stored in the .hpj file. Am I remembering incorrectly? I used that capabilty to maintain multiple versions of a Help project and to replicate projects and modify the HPJ to point to the folder I wanted to work with/compile.I'm working with RH 11. Can I this with an .xpj file?
I don't wish to use the ones already present in the gallery. They do not meet my requirements. Therefore, I want to create/design my own screen layout for the responsive HTML5 output. Please let me know the steps to do so. How to create a SLZ file, what is the code that I need to write. What are the components that I need to create to have a complete screen layout to be used in a responsive HTML5 output.
I´m testing Robohelp 10 with SharePoint 365.I configure the Robohelp and SharePoint as the page: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/RoboHelp/10.0/RoboHTML/WS1b49059a33f77726-5aab66613798e5ec9b-8000.htmlOn step 3, when I click on "File/Version Control/Add Version Control" and inform "SharePoint Site", user name and password, Robohelp display a message: "Error: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden."Anybody knows something about this error? Thanks very much.Luiza.
Hi there,What would cause a project to open in Internet Explorer but not in Google Chrome? Using RoboHelp 9. Thanks,Tom
I created a merged project.I created a master/parent project.I added the children rreferences in the parent TOC using the new merged button. I published the parent project.I published all the children (in the parent merged project folder). I generated the parent project again for webhelp, then click view results. The parent project displays with the TOC (children), BUT as soon as I click Allow Blocked content, the TOC disappears (first topic is blank). I have created all projects files locally. The children (when viewed independency) work fine.I have deleted and started over 3 times with the same issue. I contacted Adobe Support, but they could not help.Any idea o what might be the issue or how to resolve this problem. Thanks!Kim
We are considering moving to RH9 Server and RH HTML 11. We wonder whether any of you would like to share your particular experiences with (1) use of RH Server 9 and (2) with use of RH Server 9 with RH HTML 11.Please note that I've read through the 26 or so discussions about RH9 Server, but the web site only displays the same list of discussions when I click the button to display "all".Thanks very much.Carol
HiI am using RH10, as part of the TCS4.I am currently creating/ customizing screen layouts Android phone, Android Tablet, and Desktop for use in our team.Generally, our course titles are a bit long. Obviously, this won't look good in phone and tablet layouts. As a workaround, we are thinking of having different course titles for each layout (basically, a shorter version). Please suggest the best and easiest way to do that? As far as possible, I am looking for some solution where my users should change the name in one place, say a variable, and it is reflected in all pages of a particular layout. For example, I will give them a variable Phone_Course Title. They need to enter the value there and it is updated in all pages of the Android Phone layout. But I don't see a way to do it using User Defined Variables or Fields. Since many of our users are new to RH, I don't want them to fiddle around too many things here. Of course, that would also mean less issues to tackle for me.If this
RH11 - WebhelpI'm generating mixed font case webhelp and these are the results ProjectName.htm (same with all other project files)projectname_1.htmThis old help file (with remote developers and their calling code files) is needed now - we don't have time to rename and test files. The _1 file is being used and should retain the case. Why is the _1 upper case not being duplicated? Thank you
Can RoboHelp 10 be loaded on Windows 8?
Does Adobe have a solution that allows me to download adobe Air files as PDF files [ that I can open ] on my iMac running Mavericks?
I'm using Chrome version Version 31.0.1650.63 to view a site created with Robohelp Webhelp 9. The topics associated with books do not display in the browser. I get a "file or directory cannot be found" message when I click a book. These topics can be displayed by clicking links that reference these topics. Topics beneath table of contents books also display in Chrome. I have the same problem with Firefox, but not IE. How can I make book topics appear in Webhelp when viewed with Firefox and Chrome?
Hi-I have v9 of RoboHelp. I installed version 11 to try it out and now neither version will open. Any suggestions?Help...!
This topic may not linked to RoboHelp but definately worth following. I'd appreciate the community to assist me. Makers have closed the software and the website. But still an excellent help generator.Has anybody used HelpMaker for generating HTML Website (WebHelp). I try to generate the output but options like search, index are missing. Tried checking in settings, no result. Working fine in CHM (HTML-Help). They term chm and web help as HTML Help and HTML Website. Also when I go to Windows Main settings (an option) do not see anything there.
Hello,I'm using RoboHelp 8 for Windows 7. Even though I have the langauge setting to "English (US)," it's constantly calling words as spelled wrong, even when they're not. Like "hassle" and "mailing" and "encrypted" and "online."Is there some way to reset the dictionary or update it (whithout adding every "misspelled" word to the user dictionay)? Thanks!Liam
HiWe use Robohelp 11 to create help pages.Often we notice that when we make changes and republish a page, the changes take a while to be visible in Firefox and Chrome, but tend to be immediately visible in Internet Explorer. On this occasion we changed a page around two months ago (updated links for new embedded YouTube videos). I can see the new videos in Chrome and IE, but still see the old videos in Firefox 31.0, despite having cleared my cache.Worried that users won't see updates.Anyone experienced similar?thanksV
Hi all, we used to display the TOC of the master project when any of the merged sub-CHMs are opened. For this, in the merged projects it was necessary to point the advanced properties of the window to the hhc of the master, e.g.: master.chm::/master.hhc (see also this topic: Context-Sensitive Help and Merged Projects)It seems that this does not work any more, no TOC is displayed at all now using this method. Has anybody used this method under Win7 64bit?Robert
I've installed Java 8u11 to solve a problem with inability to display TOC i JavaHelp output when using Java 1.1.3 option. But Robo 10 can't find the Java SDK files, even though they are present. I guess I'm doing something dumb here - but I don't understand anything to do with Java (I just need it for Robo output), so don't know what to do next.
My company uses Mercurial as a version control system. I want to set up the version control for the documentation so that multiple users can access the project at the same time. Is it possible to use Mercurial as the version control system that is integrated into RoboHelp?
I work on Java application that utilitzes the .chm and .jar file (which include the .htm files) to display our applications help documentation. We recently upgraded from RoboHelp 8 to RoboHelp 10. The .htm files that were generated with RoboHelp 8 display fine. However, the new .htm files generated by RoboHelp 10 seem to ignore the CSS stylesheets used. I compared one of the .htm files from RoboHelp 8 to the same .htm file in RoboHelp10. I did notice differences within the files. Can you tell me what the differences are, regarding the usage of CSS stylesheets, between RoboHelp 8 & RoboHelp 10?Thank you.
