RoboHelp

I have tried multiple ways to embed a downloaded MS Mind Map (html file).  The map embeds and functions as expected, but the problem is that no matter how I try to embed it, the map does not display on its own but rather as a topic page with a header, and table of contents... I have embeded using embed code as local file, web page, and as iframe directly into the page.  I've also tried embedding into a snippet, but each of them displays a topic page in the iframe.  I captured the attached screenshot before the map loaded.  This image was using "embed local file".  The html file is stored on a network drive but not in project folder. Any thoughts on why this is happening?

I use RoboHelp to generate a .chm (Microsoft HTML Help) used in our application's on-premise and hosted environment. Recently, we have been slowly moving users to a new hosted environment (GoGlobal), and those users have been reporting issues with the online help file. Namely, content properties such as font and headers are not what they should be, and internal links to images display an error message. See below:We are finding that hosted users in the old environment (Remote Desktop) are not experiencing this issue.  Can this be resolved in RoboHelp? Should I be exporting a different file? Or should I pass this along to the team migrating the users to the new hosted environment?  Any feedback is appreciated! 

Hi,  Using version: 2020.8.34 I've noticed that Robohelp messes up my custom CSS upon generation in certain scenarios.So I have a custom CSS file that is included in the masterpage. When editing this within Robohelp it looks good but when the generation of the project is done the CSS gets messed up.I haven't pinpointed exactly when this happens but it looks like Robohelp have a issue with parsing CSS that contains ">" (directly nested elements).As an example I have this CSS in my file:  table > tbody > tr:last-child > th, table > tbody > tr:last-child > td { border-bottom: none; }  Now the result of that in the generated CSS looks like this:  .RH-LAYOUT-CENTERPANEL-topic-box> tr:last-child > th, .RH-LAYOUT-FOOTER-container> tr:last-child > th, .RH-LAYOUT-CENTERPANEL-topic-box> tr:last-child > td, .RH-LAYOUT-FOOTER-container> tr:last-child > td { border-bottom: none; }  As you c

I have a RoboHelp project where I cannot successfully generate a PDF output. In the logs, I get the following error:'The "path" argument must be of type string. Received type boolean (false).Any idea what is causing this error? 

I'm making use of cross-references that include the page number of the referenced target for a PDF publication. My question is, how do I change the sentence (see ... on page) to match the project language?  In French, for example, I'd like to see to 'Voir X, page N'. I cannot seem to find the language label for this. Thanks in advance.

Hi,Our team recently re-created a RoboHelp project using reverse engineering. We imported the output files into a new project, generated and shared the WebHelp for release. For that release, our team didn't have much time to rebuild the Help. What I mean to say is with very limited time, we could only do the following:1. Applied master pages to few of the topics, the rest of the topics didn't have any master pages selected. Although, this was not required because we were importing the output files that already had the defined master page for each topic with breadcrumb, feedback and print features, as well as the relevant style. The appearance of each topic remained intact.2.Nonetheless, we recreated the master pages to the extent that was possible so that we could apply back to the topics when we had the time. Initially, the master pages only had placeholder text and the relevant styles applied. We still needed to add back the breadcrumb placeholder, print and feedback buttons.3.

I just installed Update 3 of RoboHelp (2022 Release). When I go to open my project, I'm getting a prompt to upgrade it. Nothing I've read about Update 3 suggests that this was going to occur. Is this a valid message...that I need to upgrade my project from 2022.1.0.188, which I believe was Update 1 of RoboHelp (2022 Release), to 2022.3.93? I had already upgraded my RoboHelp Classic Project from RoboHelp 2015 to RoboHelp 2022, so was leary on proceeding since I can't find anything that says this was going to happen. I've searched the Abode Community and the internet in general and cannot find an answer to my question. Thank you!

I am facing exact issue with RoboHelp 2020 version. Please help to resolve this at the earliest as it is affecting my project deliverables.    Moderator - Post branched to a new thread as this version is very different to the version for the rest of the thread. Hi,I am new to Robohelp 2022 (was using Robohelp 2017 for some time) and I upgraded a project from RH 2017 to 2022 lately.In 2017 it was possible to apply a stylesheet to a topic and then in the output (I used Responsive and Word as my main outputs) you were able to apply another stylesheet which was then overwriting the stylesheet applied to the topics.This gave me the opportunity to have one main stylesheet (for the topics, that covered everything) and then - depending on the output - other stylesheets that overwrite only certain styles. So both outputs used for ~80% of the styles the same style and the rest was individualized (per output).I was wondering how to do that in RH 2022 as I did not find the possibility to apply a stylesheet to an output preset - especially word seems to have now "only" the option to do a word style mapping.

I've used other CMS and they have the option to show, sort, filter, and update topic status (draft, in review, complete...) using a colored indicator icon in the authoring area.  I can't find similar functionality in RoboHelp, does this exist?  I'm not referring to reports, but rather a colored icon next to the topic in the author pane. If this doesn't exist, can it be added to the feature request list?   

I have multiple images that I want to show 1200px wide. The image shows perfectly in RoboHelp topic page, but no matter how I size them or how I change the attributes, the image gets trimmed on the published page.  I have no padding or margins, no special layout format. In the attached image, I added a border to show the size the image should be, but it gets cut off.  Regardless of image size size, it trims in the same location on the pictures.

We're still trying out RH2022 and learning, bit by bit, but can anyone direct us to information regarding the Assets folder? I tried searching the Adobe site, but not finding what I need. Thanks!

Per title, trying to generate PDF and get Error: Cannot read property 'replace' of undefined. Have Java Version 8 Update 381 installed (latest) Have Robohelp 2022.3.93 installed. Any insights?Thanks.

Whenever I try to rename a folder in the Contents panel, I get an error message. For example, I have a folder called "Guide":1) Right-click on Guide folder and choose "rename".2) In the Name field, I remove the word Guide and replace it with Tutorial.3) Click Done.This gives the message:    Folder Exists    Folder "Guide" already exists, choose another name.Is this just me, or is this a bug? If a bug, any suggestions for a workaround?I am using RH 2020.6.76 

Last question of the day... Outside of using an external tool, is there a way to search and replace tags in HTML view? For example, is there a way to change all instances of  <H2>Sample Text</H2> to something like <H23>Sample Text</H3>. Seems that the native search and replace feature only replaces topic content, and not the underlying code.

I have been using RH 2022 for quite a while now and I am finding that it often adds <br /> to my html. I don't want it to do that. Just about every day I have to go into the html view and delete a <br /> that RH added without my permission. For example, I never press shift-enter. I am not sure what I am doing that causes this. Does anyone know how to avoid this? Does anyone else have this problem?I am using RH 2022.2.22.  Thanks,Jim

We are still working with a trial version of RH2022, working our way through the steep learning curve. Part of the process we're struggling with is with how we have been using the !SSL! files.  Currently we deploy RH user guides to various versions of our process (Development, Staging, QA, Production) by copying and pasting items from the !SSL! output folder (Printed Documentation and Web Help folders that are in the !SSL! folder) that are created in RoboHelp 2017 that have all necessary RoboHelp files including the index.htm (our compiled project) and Printed documentation (Word and PDF). So far, we do not see a folder similar to this !SSL! output folder in RoboHelp 2022.

I had always thought that the search engines were unable to crawl and index RoboHelp content for SEO purposes.  But several of the pages on my client's site www.numbercruncher.com are showing up in search results on Google.  Can anyone help me to understand what the constraints are for this? Or send me somewhere I can get the details?  I've been searching everywhere and not sure where else to look.

I have been experiencing some of my child project pages that are published appearing one day, then some random day the page is blank. This is random throughout my child project (6child projects). Is there a reason why that a couple of my child project pages are appearing blank, when in fact they are published with no broken links or broken page, and no error code? Thank you for the help!

Once upon a time we started to use Robohelp9 and compiled our code with Visual Studio 2012.We are think about moving on to a much newer version of Visual Studio but we are concerned about whether our code will compile successfully, given that we are linking our code to hhctrl.libAny thoughts will be much appreciated. 

We have just upgraded help source files from older version of RH to the latest one found that the new version has a lot of formatting issues and also not the user-friendly.We are struggling to fix the simple text formatting tasks, such as applying bullet styles and other. Even the options and their (names) terminoloties in a style creation section are also not user-friendly. Mentioning here some of the formatting issues we faced while working on a project:Style: There is no (simple) option to add spaces before and after the text/style. Mini-TOC: By default it has its own style which not appearing properly in the output. Same issue is there for Related topics placeholder. Related topics: It comes with a placeholder option, but you will have to add all the related topics list in its window which is harder than manaully dragging the topics from TOC to its section.List styles: Options for both OL and UL are not user-friendly. It includes text for bullet styles, such as disc

I upgraded my project from RH2017 to RH2020.Now, when I generate a HTML5 output and then publish to a File system, the the link to open the files for RH2020 output is differenat than for the RH2017 output.The results look like this:2017 - https://.../tutorials/#t=online_tutorials.htm2020 - https://.../tutorials/index.htm#t=online_tutorials.htmIs there anything can I do to my RH2020 output so that it acknowledges, looks like, or redirects from the previous RH2017 link?Thank you.

Hi,I was checking the search results and I found that for Phrase search we need to put quotes. I have attached two screenshots to show the difference. In the first image_1, I entered the search query How to create a pipeline without quotes and it generated 236 results. In the second image_2, I entered the same search query with quotes and it yielded 3 results. I have two queries here:1. How to streamline search using Robehelp search settings in Preset to yield only related searches.2. Why do we need to provide quotes, is there any setting to enable it by default? image_1 image_2
