Working in RoboHelp 2019. I need to make sure that the "saved articles"/"favorites" function in my frameless output automatically alphabetizes the pages within it. Currently, pages stay in the order they are added, and this just doesn't work for my needs. Assuming this is possible, how could I go about doing this? What file should I be looking in to make this change? I'm assuming it will probably be in one of the .js files, such as the ones present under program files, in resources > data > frameless > js, but I'm not very experienced with scripting so it's hard for me to even understand what I'm looking for. Can anyone help, or at least point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
Trying to find answers. I am having problems publishing using the Responsive HTML5 output in Robohelp 2017. I publish using Robosource to Robohelp server 10. It was working fine then starting Friday, when I try and publish is just freezes after like 30 seconds of publishing and eventually give me this error: Publishing has been cancelled. Connection Failed. Please check the connection and post again. Native error: the request can be continued. I checked with our IT department and they tell me over and over that the server is online and they see no issues in the logs. So I am at a loss. Any ideas as to why I am getting this error and how to fix it? Thanks All! Robert Reed
Background: I'm re-trialing RH 2020, Update 7 to see if upgrading from RH 2017 is viable for us at this point. I'm testing printable outputs as part of that.I have generated a .docx file from my converted project in RH 2020. However I'm unable to see the styles applied from my .dotm template. I'm using Microsoft 365 MSO (16.0.14326.20782) 64-bit. From Word's ribbon, On the Developer tab, in Templates and Add-ins dialog box, Templates tab, I have the Automatically update document styles check box marked, but when I click OK, the styles from the template still never get applied. I just tested this same template on a non-RH .docx file, and I can apply and see the styles changing just fine Does anyone else see this? Why does it not work in a RH-generated .docx file? And is there a workaround or a fix?
I have a project that I upgraded from Classic Robohelp a while back, and now we're having problems with links that point to bookmarks on the same page. Could it have anything to do with source controlling the project files? We recently started using the Robohelp command line as described on this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/generate-output.html Or could it be because we have many pages with bookmarks that use the same hashtag? For example, "Site" is a common field on many of our screens. Each screen has its own help topic with a definition for "Site". We list the fields at the top of each help topic page, and users can click on them to jump to the definition further down the page. The bookmark on each help topic would be "#Site". Do we need unique bookmarks for each instant of Site? Thanks! The link shown at the bottom of this window is NOT correct. It's trying to use the path on my hard drive. The link shown at the bottom here is cor
1. We have a RoboHelp 2019 (New) project which is accessed from a WebLogic application - whilst many users are able to access the help, some cannot (simply getting the four rotating squares) - any troubeleshooting advice would be appreciated. 2. It takes a lot longer to generate the HTML5 Responsive project files (c.20-25 mins) than it did using our previous RoboHelp HTML 11 software (c.2-3 mins) - any ideas why it would take so long and what is it doing when it states 'patching' every single topic? Thanks in advanceSimon
Hi There, I recently updated a large Help file from 2019 Classic to 2020. The html outputs work great. But I'm having issues with the chm output. I don't actually see Microsoft HTML as expected. It is still displaying chm. After generating the output though, there are some layout issues. Many of the images are much smaller than in the help file and a few sentences start out with regular font and the rest is tiny font. Also, some of my tables are scrunched up vertically. Any ideas about what might be causing this? Thanks, Julianna
Hello all,Product and Project details:RH 2017 (13.0.2.334)Merged help system of about 20 help projects (~467 MB total when generated)HTML5 outputWe are experiencing some slow speeds when loading in the merged help site from our online webserver. One user who has 20 Mbps download speeds, it took him about 11-12 seconds to load the site, and about 19 seconds before they get search results. (I'm sending out a survey in our company to get broader results, but I've seen slow loading and search speeds results from my computer as well and I have about 80 Mbps download speeds.)For example, when I run the site through google's Page Insights (Desktop not Mobile-- Mobile is even slower), I get this:Look at that "Time to Interactive" stat. Yikes! Anyone else see something similar on your large merged HTML5 sites?I personally don't know what I can do on my end to optimize to increase speeds. This all seems to stem from how RH merges everything together with this particular layout.Thoughts?
Output generation failed to produce this file even though I had it noted in the start file space in properties. When I tried to deploy the full output to an Azure static site it failed to deploy (404 error) even though all of the individual page htm files looked good. I just revved up to this version and this is the first time I have generated an output. I usually look at the index.htm file to verify all of the pages are working correctly in the output. Any ideas or known issues? I didn't see this issue posted at all. Thanks!
I just broke the bullets as I was defining their font styles and sizes to match the new branding requirements. When I highlight text to be bulleted and select the style from the author toolbar, nothing happens. Any idea what I did?
Hello community, at the moment we are strugglinh with our reviews.Till last week there was only one user which was creating reviews.Since this week i have to employees who are working on the same project. The CloudID is mentioned in the project file as Peter Grainge was explaining in this topic:https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp-discussions/activate-reviews-are-gone-after-sharing/m-p/11921849#M136942My second employee started to create a review, but was not able to receive my comments for his review. He always received a error message: "{"statusCode":404,"message":"{\"reason\":\"not_found\",\"message\":\"The requested resource could not be found\"}"}"I`ve then deleted the CloudID of the project and he deleted the reviews in the CreativeCloud. After that it worked.Later on my "first" employee didn`t see his reviews anymore in RH. They were only be seen in the CreativeCloud. I was then very confused about that.We use a version control via AzureDevOps so that each user is able to
Hello Friendly RoboHelpers, In RH 2017 (13.0.2.334) with a HTML5 Responsive layout, if you decrease the width of the tri-pane border by dragging it to the left (not collapsing it, but dragging it), it drags smoothly and quickly without any issue. But if you try to drag it to the right (to increase the size), you can only drag it a few pixels before the mouse stops dragging. This means to increase the width it requires, multiple minute painful drags (unless you very carefully and slowly drag the mouse to the right). Here's a brief video that shows what I mean:https://hexmet-my.sharepoint.om/:v:/g/personal/jared_hess_hexagon_com/EbSuVOFjtdpIjubfAbcQLD0B6qnDALd5LvOegAsb6p9HrA?e=pagbEi How can I fix this issue so that it's just as "snappy" dragging to the right as it is to the left? If you have RH 2020, do you see this same thing? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I have an odd problem. After I click on Help, I click Search, and I choose one of the results, and go there. Then, if I click the Home button to return to the documentation's home page, I go there, although the home page will be empty except for the navigation pane. Is this the standard functionality or a bug? Thanks to anyone who can help with this.
Good morning all - I have been having an issue with getting an image to show up in generated content. The image is in the first column of a table, so I have been experimenting with column width options mostly. Using Inspect, I think I have narrowed the issue down to a table{max-width:100% string in the template/styles/topic.min.css file of the project. Manually editing the .CSS file so "100%" is now "auto" allowed the image to appear. My question now is how do I use RoboHelp 2020 to make this change a permanent one? (otherwise my change will be overwritten with a new output generation). My experience with RoboHelp has been mainly in content editing rather than style editing. Let me know if I am not providing all the needed details. And thank you!
The program is not opening. It appears to start to open but after 15 minutes it still won't open.
hi sir i want to move this to this place, how can I do it please
Inherited a large project generated in an older version of RoboHelp, which doesn't seem to want to successfully generate the Responsive HTML5 now that is has been migrated to RoboHelp 2020. The generation process appears to be caught in a loop, as it will remain patching the topics for days (doesn't appear stuck, as the name of the topic being patched still changes). Attempted shortening the length of the output path and creating a new Responsive HTML5 output preset without success. Also confirmed that the project did not contain any broken links. In terms of the generated output, a review of one of the generated htm files shows gRootRelPath and gCommonRootRelPath with a value of "../../" defined. However, checking the same htm file later in the generation shows the gRootRelPath and gCommonRootRelPath has been updated and now has a value of "../../../../../../.." defined. The longer the generation is left running, the longer this value gets.
Hi, Everyone. When importing a MS Word file, is there a setting in the Word Import Settings dialog that will prevent the Word CSS from also importing? Thank you!
I found something strange with Robohelp and I am wondering if anyone else sees the same thing. Whenever I try to change the Map ID, Robohelp does not save my changes. Here are some detailed steps you can use to show the problem (but you may find you don't need them):If you don't already have a map file:1) In Output tab, click Map Files.2) Click the "+" , select "New Map File", and type in a name.3) Insert a topic by either drag-n-dropping it or clicking the "+" on the right.4) Save the map file.Once you have a map file:5) In the MAP ID column, edit the Map ID of a topic following these steps:a) Position curser at the end of the present map ID.b) Type 5-6 characters to the end if the Map ID. Note: type the characters rather quickly. Don't pause between typing each chararacter.c) Save the map file, close it, then reopen it.When I follow these steps, my changes made are not saved. However, I found that if I wait about 1 second between typing each character, robohelp saves what I type
Hello, My dev team is trying to work with WebHelp output from the new 2019 RoboHelp. They tell me there are 2 missing js files. whtagdata.jsglo.new.jsI can confirm that these files do not exist anywhere in the project folders or output folders. Are these files necessary? If yes, they're auto generated so what have I done wrong in the Output settings? Can anyone here help with this disconnect?Thank you
Hi, Everyone. When I import a MS Word doc, in the Word Import Settings dialog, there's no list style to map to, even though my CSS contains a half-dozen list styles. So I'm forced to choose "Use RoboHelp Default." And that gets imported as "p" style. Similarly, there's also no hyperlink style to map to. The other major problem is inline margin styling from the MS Word file is getting imported (see screenshot), even though I leave un-selected "Import inline styles." I've worked with Adobe TCS Support on these issues. But they recommend importing styles, which I don't want to do b/c I'm trying to keep the HTML clean. Thank you!
Hi, I'm looking to change the name of the pane that shows up in the left pane. It currently says Contents, my boss would like it to say Guides instead. I can't find anything in Skins settings that will let me adjust the text that shows up there.
I can't get this version to install.I've tried installing on top of RH 2020.6.I've uninstalled 2020.6, then installing 2020.7.I've tried using the setup.exe and the RoboHelp_2020.7_Off.msi.I've tried running the setup.exe with admin rights.I rebooted, and tried again, all of the above.I have admin rights. The installer is not archived/zipped. No other applications are running (other than Windows Explorer). Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but here's the log. Any help getting this settled would be greatly appreciated.--Rich
We are updating from RN 2019 Classic to 2020. When we convert an existing project most everything is converted without issue. However, the master pages do not retain the background images we assigned to them.I have attempted to add a background image to the converted master pages, and to add one to a new master page. I'm cerrtain I'm not doing it correctly because all I ever see is a sliver of the image. The image is a banner that is 4800x300 px. It is inteded to be at top, with no repeat.I am trying to place the cursor at the top of the page, at or above the breadcrumbs and header. Although I've specified that it's 300px you only see as much as the breadcrumb part will show. I don't want it "in" the breadcrumbs, but how do I get it to apply to the entire page? Would appreciate any and all help!Rich
In previous versions (classic) of RoboHelp, I've added a background image to my master pages, with no repeat. In the current version, although I can specify a background image in the master page (and sometimes see it, although it repeats when I have none selected), I cannot get the image to output and be displayed in the webhelp.I've looked all over the place using typical keywords and everything I've found tends to gloss over the process or just mentions what to do. I can't find a solution for when it doesn't work as advertised. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
All, attempting to summarize the background image issue I've been having. I am following up with some different posts to try and respond to those who've attempted to help. Our team has been using RoboHelp Classic, 2019. We're adopting the new user interface 2020 version. When we have used the Upgrade RoboHelp Classic Project command to convert our existing templates and projects, everything converts pretty well, except the background images we have on the two master pages used in each project are "lost". The background images don't show up in the master page. Thus, they don't display in the html output.I am unable to figure out how to place a background image in this version. It was suggested that I upgrade to rh2020.7. This has not worked; I cannot get that version to install, despite having no issues getting the rh2020.6 version to install.I have been able to see the master page when attaching it to the CSS body style. However, it displays in the topic while authoring; makes the text di
