RoboHelp

Hello,I'm having a problem.For every major release we make a new project.I want to keep the 'old content', add some topics.My first idea was make a new project from scratch, import topics, import the old toc (a click and drag from one project to the other works). But when doing that, I get an error and de topics referenced in the 'imported' link have broken links.Ok, so to keep the links intact, I would like to open the old project, and 'save as' to a new project.In the past I had to do that from within the file explorer, but in that case, some paths are to be verified.Is there a way to to a save as that is 'transparent' to the user (no fiddling with paths )?any other suggestion?best regardsOlivier

The index in my PDF shows an ellipses preceding each page number. Example:parameters ... 61, ... 64, ... 67, ... 90, ... 105, ... 111, ... 115, ... 127, ... 134, ... 140How can I remove the ellipses?I looked at https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/customize-pdf.html (back matter > index page) and found that a.book-idx-link defines the page number layout. HI there,I'm trying to remove the printer and highlight icons from the SKIN- Studio Robohelp 2020 --  I access the topic page, right panel, and delete the image from the background.  And, then I generate and preview and it works and they are removed. However, the next time I generate the output and preivew, there they are again! How do I permanently remove these icons? Thanks -- Carmela 

Is it possible to change the icon that RoboHelp uses to mark thumbnail images? This is the icon I see in the output:But I've been asked if the icon could be made more noticeable on the screen, as the default icon looks like it's grayed out. I can't find the image file that RH uses for this icon, and I don't see any posts here on this subject. Is it possible to do this? I'm using RoboHelp 2019 Classic with the Indigo layout to produce Responsive HTML output. 

I get error message when attempting to install Adobe RoboHelp 2020 regarding unsupported Browser. Do you know how to fix this? 

Hi There, I upgraded a large 2019 Classic file to 2019 new UI. It went smoothly and the file is looking good so far. I just noticed in the 2019 the robohelp file in the new UI is an rhpj.  I now able to open the file in 2019 new UI. I want to upgrade this same file to 2020. But 2020 doesn't offer an rhpj choice in the drop down. When I upgraded from Classic to new UI, shouldn't the file extention changed to XPJ? Thanks, Julianna

When I output a HTML Help with ±100 topics, it generates in ±10s (I see the time change in Explorer), but RH keeps showing the progress bar generating the output with the text 'indexing references'. Meanwhile, I can continue editing topics. No problem.The next time that I generate it, I get another progress bar with the same and so on.Again I can continue editing without any problem.The only thing is that all those progress bars keep progressing.After closing an reopening the project, the progress bars are gone. As far as I know, the output file is good. So this does not seem to be a big problem, but maybe someone knows the reason and solution?  RH2020.6.76

Hi,   Currently I have a project created using RoboHelp version 11 in English. I want to add support for more languages. While I can get the translated text and copy and paste them by having English and new language files opened side by side, it will be a tedious task. Instead, is there something similar to string table support available in Visual Studio so that I can pass the string table to translator and get the translation done and incorporate it directly with minimal changes needed?    Regards,Janardhanan.R.

I am looking for a way to add localization support in robohelp. I am using Robohelp 11 and currently generating output in only english language. I want to generate in two other languages as well, how is that possible. Even when I am changing default language to French, the output is still coming in English language. I am not sure whether it's robohelp limitation or I am making some mistake.

Noticed a strange thing. I opened a RH project after many months. I had last updated it on RH 2020 update 5 and saved some tags and conditional expressions. I opened the project in RH 2020.6.76 and noticed that the tags and conditional expressions have disappeared. The project went through an upgrade while opening.Does that happen? Has anyone noticed such a scenario?

I'm running RoboHelp 2020.0.156.   I'm attempting to set up RoboHelp with version control using BitBucket (GIT).    I set up the connection profile to Bitbucket from within RoboHelp and commit but I can't push back files. I get the following error.  

My boss created a new skin for us to use. I added the new publish contents to my project and when I go to publish the content to HTML, the new skin is not being used. When I try to open the skin within RoboHelp, it throws an application error, and will not appear in the window. What should I do to resolve this?

Can I someone tell me whether the above is true or come up with a different answer.What is the best way to convert a very large word document (600 pages of numerous tables, images, crossreferences, etc).Thanks Serge Angeric 

When publishing in RH 2015, the navigation path from the TOC displayed in the topics as shown below. Our users were able to click in the sequence to move back.   In our RH 2020 project, I created a Browse Sequence from the TOC and assigned it in the Output Preset. Publishing with the Azure Blue skin, it added left and right arrows that seem to move randomly through topics. The actual clickable sequence isn't displayed. I've searched but am not finding settings for this. Can someone suggest a solution?   Thanks. 

Hello,  I'm trying to publish locally using Responsive HTML5. I tested publishing the parent and 2 child projects.  When I published, it was "stuck" on the Welcome page. I could click the TOC or Search Options but it would bring me right back to the Welcome page. While looking into it further, I noticed that when publishing locally some of the files are missing from the local merged projects folder. Does anyone have any input? I know Im missing something.  I tried to do it with another child project and those htm files also did not publish. The same information ( I belive from the parent?)  was published into the merged child project folder.  Not the htm files that should be there.  Please see photos for reference of what did publish. (Not the associated html files to the child project.) 

I am required to place watermarks to the side of my documents. I have found ways to do this for RH 2019 and older but nothing for RH 2020.  Is placeing a watermark possible? If so how?  Thanks for any help.

I am pseudo-new to the Adobe RoboHelp and FrameMaker. I am trying to understand why you would use one tool over another. Any advice? .

Hi,I am a new joinee at HCL Technologies. HCL Technologies is an Enterprise Business Client of Adobe. I have been told by my manager to download  RoboHelp 2019 30-day trial version for training purposes. Once training is completed I will be provided with an activated License for the same. I was able to successfully download and install RoboHelp application on my laptop. The issue arises when I try to launch the application.  A Sign In window pops up and when I press the Sign In Now button, an error message is shown and it states - ' Your browser or operating system is no longer supported'. I have attached the screen shots of  error shown. I have already created my account on Adobe Website.Please help me out to find the solution for this issue so that I can use the RoboHelp 2019 apllication.

We have a security requirement than says the end user should not be able to Print or Save the content dipslayed in the browse from the RH Generated Output, Is there any thing in the RH application that can ensure the generated output will not allow Print or Save from the browser view of the generated output? We are curerntly using RH 2020.6.76 but will be updating to RH 2020.7 soon.Any ideas would  be much appreciated. 

With RH 2020, the menu bar of a topic shows another item to add: "Text Box".By adding it, the code sheet shows this:<div class="text-box">  <p> containing the text in the box </p></div>That's a nice feature. The square box contains my text, shows a solid 2 px border, and obviously is set up for the following content (headlines, paragraphs) to flow around it. But I couldn't find a way to style that box, e.g. the height/width, margins or border width or colors. Seems that this div class is a RoboHelp thing (like the drop-down text box which is made of a <div class="droptext">) to be controlled by JavaScript.But sure there must be some handles to style it?! 

I'm back, still laboring over how to build a landing page and access system based on a design for the front-end to the help system. I have all the pieces in place to meet the design, but I'm certainly missing something.  And perhaps my strategy is way off. This request for help is long but detailed.I’m trying to create a landing page where users can select their category of interest.  There are four categories: Carriers, Suppliers, SaaS, and Operations. I set up TOC tiles for each.  When the user clicks the TOC tile, the Topic page is supposed to open with only the topics I’ve tagged for that TOC tile showing in the left panel.  I also included a Welcome TOC tile which opens the Topic page with all topics included in the left panel. I created multiple tables of content.  The primary TOC is called Landing.  Landing has the Welcome topic page and four sections.  The sections are Carriers, Suppliers, SaaS, and Operations. Hello, I cannot get the Search tab to find any results after outputing a RoboHelp MS HTML Help file (.chm).  I've looked everywhere for an output setting or flag that I might be missing.  The Search tab is present and although I have plenty of content and keywords, no matter what I search on, it always results in No Topics Found.  I've also tried enabling Advanced Search but that produced the same results. Is there something I need to do to get RoboHelp to index the content files and so MS Help can produce search results? I'm using RoboHelp 2020 update 7, on Win 10, but had the same issues with update 6. Thanks!Scott  

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone knows of a marketplace where you can purchase different RoboHelp skins that others (with far better design skills than I have:-)) have created. I understand that these will be based on templates that come pre-loaded with RH but I can also see there are many, many ways to improve these templates with various graphical elememts, embedded HMTL, javascript and so on. 

With a parent project that outputs a CHM, I would like to include a child CHM and link the child CHM from another folder. Linking the child CHM is no problem. If I change the child, in the contents panel, I see the green arrow near the child chm change red and I can sync to update it. Fine.The only problem is that the child CHM is not copied to the same output folder as the parent CHM. I don't find how I can do this.If I copy the child CHM manually to the parent CHM folder, and then open the parent CHM, I can see the child topics, so that's fine.
