AE 22.6.0 (Build 64) keeps throwing error: attempt to remove an item from a position outside of list length (27 :: 9). The error happens any time you undo something, or move a layer or keyframe in the timeline. Working inside a TEAM PROJECT, which I assume is part of the issue. AE is almost unusable as the error throws constantly.

Hi all,

Thank you all for reporting this issue. We've been able to reproduce the error in 22.6 and are investigating potential fixes.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for reporting this issue, and sorry to hear that this is getting in the way of your work. Do the errors happen with only one project or has it happened in more than one?

Would you be able to share the project that is throwing errors? If you convert the Team Project to a local project, does it still throw the same errors when undoing, moving layers, etc? To try this, you can using Edit > Team Projects > Convert Team Projects to Project.

Thanks again for reporting this issue and for any further information you can provide,

Ever since the upgrade to 22.6.0, my entire team has consistently been hit with this bug. I can't pinpoint what causes it (it happens most often using the "undo" feature), just that it shows up at random times throughout the workday and is very frustrating.

Once it pops up, it will reoccur with every click or action until the cache is cleared, and that seems to keep it at bay for a little while.

The worst part is that when it occurs, it removes all "undo" ability, and since it frequently occurs when trying to undo something, we end up stuck with actions that we can no longer get rid of.

We use Team Projects, so perhaps its specific to that platform, but we really really need it fixed. Please help!

We can't seem to pinpoint what starts it. Usually happens after working in the project for 10 minutes or so, then the error appears regularly - moving layer positions, undoing anything, and today it happened while copy/pasting. It seems to happen inside all team projects. If you clear your cache it sometimes helps, but other times you have to restart AE to buy yourself another 10-15 minutes before it comes back.

It doesn't appear to happen in regular projects. This converted project isn't throwing me the error so far. Seems to me its a team projects issue. Thank you!!!!

My team is also having this issue. We've now had to revert to the older version, which has its own problems! But this specific issue makes AE completely unusable.

This is in team projects. The error appears after working for a while, it's happened working with or without footage. Occurs and then reoccurs with any edit. There's no consistency to re-create it other than working in AE.

I cannot just "revert team project to project" and use that as a fix. I have a team to work with, that's ridiculous. Fix your highly expensive program.

The previous version has memory leaks, eats up 100% of my 12GB of GPU RAM and then doesn't release it! This causes GPU out of memory crashes, which is utterly ridiculous. This is easily recreated, and then fixed by turning off GPU cuda rendering... which means I can't render as fast.

Happens on both apple and windows OS / computers.
Happens on any project.

Our team is also experiencing the exact same issue within Team projects ever since 22.6.0. It's extremely disruptive to the workflow.

Has there been any update on the fix for this bug? I was hoping to see mention of it in the "bugs fixed" document for v23.0 but unless I missed something I didn't see it listed. It's a particularly frustrating bug that slows work to a halt anytime it appears, would be great to receive a fix soon if it's not already in v23.0! (Disclaimer, I haven't begun working in 23.0 yet, so perhaps the issue has already been fixed and we simply need to update - just wanted to see if there was any acknowledgement of progress on this)

Seems like the issue has been solved in version 23. Been using it a few days and so far no errors and there is much less screaming and complaining in our crew now.
