After Effects warning: std::exception - After Effects keeps crashing

Community Beginner ,

Everytime i start up After Effects now, both messages below show up. I already tried to reinstall, install older versions, restart my computer, gave AE full disk access, and other tricks from other people online... nothing works.

If someone from Adobe could get on this, that would be real helpful, because the program is a BIG part of my job...

Hi @Sander_Van de Putte1337 ,

I'm Sébastien from the After Effects. I am sorry you are running into this issue. I have experienced the same problem recently, and was able to resolve it by deinstalling the fonts installed through Creative Cloud.

I am currently investigating this issue, and would be greatly helped if you could share a few informations with me.

Sorry to hear about the crash, Sander.

What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)? Have you installed a new program or a new font recently? Can you try the steps in the following article and see if that brings any change:https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/multi/preferences-folder-read-only-error.html

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,
Nishu

Hi Sébastien!
I'm having the same problem with After Effects. Since I updated my Mac to the latest version, every time I launch After Effects, it displays an error message saying "After Effects (warning): std::exception." I followed your advice about deleting the fonts, but it didn't work. I also tried checking the permissions, but that didn't change anything. It's been a month now, and I still can't find a solution...

It seems that the After Effects program is suffering from more problems in the current period. I do not know why, perhaps from the latest updates or because of artificial intelligence. All you have to do is delete all Adobe programs, then delete Creative Cloud, then re-download Creative Cloud and download Adobe programs, and the problem will end.
