Unresponsive text input

Any font, any layer set-up the text layers input or editing is lagging for about 1-2 seconds after keystrokes.

Pasting more than 10 words sometimes crashes the app.

Started somewhere in 2021, still an issue.

It kind of feels like there might be something happening in the background on your system. Maybe check that task manager doesn't have something else running.

Is it happening with a particular font or any font? I remember seeing this issue some time back but that was fixed. I see that you're using third-party plug-ins. For testing, can you start After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled and see if that brings any change?

In safe mode, with 3rd party plugins disabled, the text works well.

@RobShultz nah, it always acts like that. I rarely run anything heavy with AE. +about 40GB of ram dedicated to it should be enough to edit text
