I believe what people really want most is to align in XY space. But yes, I've done this so many times. I try to align a 3D layer, doesn't work. I make it a 2D layer, align it, then make it 3D again and add back any previous transformations I had. Please fix this.
Can someone at Adobe PLEASE explain to me why I have to use a 3rd party plugin to accomplish what really should be a wee bit of math to enable this basic, freaking absolutely essential bit of function? Why? Stop adding bloat and just make the basics work for the love of God.
I do also think there should be an align 3d' button built into after effects, or even better, just build it into the standard align tool. There are scripts, but they don't get updates and get a bit buggy as they don't get updated alongside the mothership app (AE).
The one I use align 3d' requires a lot of screen real estate to access the buttons. Maybe Adobe should just work in more of the most commonly used scripts into AE in an 'addition scripts' section, so we aren't ******* around with updating scripts for core/basic functions like this. 🙂
So let me get this straight...we can now "snap" 3D layers, yet somehow, inexplicably, we still cannot use the align function for 3D layers. Can someone from Adobe deign to respond to this? It has been asked about for years and years and years and yet somehow you can muster up support for importing 3D models, snapping, etc.
What is wrong with this process? Frankly, what is wrong with your team?
