I would love the ability to view a video or comp when working with animation.

Often I need a reference video, and with AE not making it possible to place stuff outside the main comp and see it the only real way is to add it to the comp - but then it blocks what i work on...

Apps like AI and Animate makes you place stuff outside the workarea and lets you view it.

A simple preview monitor that follows the timeline would also be a great.

Thanks 🙂

You could always open the video in a Footage Panel and arrange it as a two up panel. You can also open a second comp panel opt+shift+n, lock it and arrange the same way.  You can take a picture and toggle back and forth.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If I open a video up and place it next to my comp, and preview it's only the comp plays, not both.

I would like those to be in sync, to see thing are in the right tempo and so on.

Basicly i'm making the same animation in different screensizes.

Can't belive this would be so hard for Adobe to enable... It sure would be nice..

The screenshot methot is not so good for doing the stuff i do.
