Linking Word Document to InDesign Document with no continuous flow of text boxes across pages

I’ve created an InDesign document with multiple pages, where each page begins a new section and the text frames are not linked across pages. Is there a way to import a Word document so the text flows seamlessly throughout the InDesign file? Do I need to set up continuous, linked text frames beforehand, or is there a quicker method to achieve this?

Before clicking the page to place the file, hold down the shift key and the document will autoflow and create as many new pages as are needed.

The other option is to create an InDesign document with a Primary Text Frame. If your document is already in progress, use @BobLevine 's method.
