Hi there.
I have a windows copilot surface pro 11.
So, I am working on Windows ARM.
When I try to import photos to lightroom, I dont see any image on thumbnails at all. Like this>
If I select all the images I want to import and click on import, I get this:
I can leave the computer as long as I want that nothing appens.
Lightroom is not crasched per se. I can still work with the pc. Lightroom is barely using CPU or Ram. Just sits there, for hours if I let.
if I cancel the import I get this:
I have enough space in disk.
I am just adding pictures.
I tried having the pictures in the pc hard drive and on a external hard drive.
I tried changing permissions.
I cannot get arround this to import photos into Lightroom.
can you please help me!??
THANK YOU

On an update, it does import with no issues from the camera but only on "copy" or "copy as DNG".
I really don't get it

Hey! @noimagination1,
Thank you for sharing that you're on a Windows ARM machine as well as the troubleshooting steps you've already tried. This gives us a starting point. There are a few known issues regarding ARM on Windows machines. Check out this article: https://adobe.ly/3VPbDfB
Could you please share the exact version of Lightroom Classic you're using? You can find this by going to Help > System Info. Please copy and paste everything into a text file and attach it here.

Having the exact same issue. I have tried installing the Adobe Camera Raw ARM64 17_5 file . It runs but doesn't install the ARM component.... it is so frustrating.

I have the exact same issue but on a Macbook. I've tried importing one photo and many, using copy. Nothing happens.

To clarify for everyone in this thread, the original poster @noimagination1 was tripping over a bug specific to the Windows ARM version of LR Classic, a "known limitation or issue" in Adobe parlance (marketers aren't allowed to say "bug"), where LR hangs or crashes when you try to import photos from a folder that also contains videos:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/known-issues.html#windows-arm-issues
From @noimagination1's screenshot:
You have to move the videos out of the folder. (Merely unselecting the videos, as I incorrectly implied above, won't work in this case.)
@jpnc4: "I have the exact same issue but on a Macbook."
You have a Macbook and thus don't have the exact same issue. Please start a new thread and describe precisely what you're seeing step-by-step.

I am having the exact same issue with Lightroom Classic version 15.0.1 Camera Raw 18.0 and a
Surface Laptop, Copilot+ PC, 15-inch with an ARM processor, I even copied some of the folders to the internal hard drive and all I got to import was 25 pictures and then the import did not do anything else, even after a long time.

I was able to import in place some directories after deleting the video files.
if this is the case, is it possible to bypass video files in the import instead of deleting them?

At the bottom center of the Import window, select Sort: Media Type. Now, all the photos will be sorted together and it will be easy to select just them, excluding the videos.

It does not work unselecting the videos, I had to remove all videos from the folder and it worked perfectly.
anyway this is big problem for me as I always have pictures and videos in my camera or folders.

Right, I corrected myself above:
