I took a slow 180 degree pan from a drone and sped it up but the result is that it looks stuttered. Take a look here: 949 days on an desert island - ep142 - YouTube The shot was taken in 4k at 30fps and placed in a 1080 29.97 drop-frame time-line. I applied optical flow to the original footage which was sped up by 230.1% (because that's what fits the break in the music) and then nested it to apply warp stabiliser. I then applied optical flow to that. I have tried various different variations on those settings, from only applying optical flow to one or none of the clips (nested and original) and changing the % of warp stabiliser. I understand that if I apply a 24p clip to a 30p timeline I get missing frames, or if I slow a clip down lower than the timeline frame rate, but I don't normally have a problem with sped-up footage, especially if I apply warp stabiliser. Doesn't the sped up footage have enough frames to create a smooth motion, or does a sped up piece of footage also have to be divisible by the frame rate in the same way 60p can be halved by 50% on a 30p timeline? Hi, I know the basics of Illustrator but I'm no expert so I was looking for some basic advice on how to manipulate an image to wrap around a shape. I have an octopus design with tentacles that sits in an oblong shape when viewed normally. I am trying to apply the image to a triangle shape, so I want to stretch the top tentacles upwards and then the bottom corners out and down to the corners of the two lower triangle corners. I understand how to transform in Photoshop (warp, perspective etc) but using these affects the whole shape. I am assuming that there must be a way of breaking the design up into smaller parts so that I only affect the areas I want to stretch, something like lots of anchor points which I can then select independently. I can Image Trace and then expand but because the image is complex in colour the image trace loses definition and creates thousands of independent parts. All I'm looking to do is create lots of anchor points of the outline. Anyone understand what I am trying to achieve and how I can do this easily? Thanks in advance. ... View more

I live and travel on a boat and am frequently offline. My next trip will have me offline for two months or longer. Recently I tried to open Pr and was asked for my login details. I can't remember the exact course of events but because I was not online it told me I was on a trial version. I pay the full subscription for the entire Adobe suite. Since then I'm back online and logged into Adobe Creative suite once more, but what happens when I'm next offline? More to the point, if it sends me onto a trial version and I can't log in for two months, what happens then? Is Adobe really checking my online status every once in a while? Why is it doing this when I have the full Adobe subscription? How do I avoid this? ... View more

Interested to know how people approach audio editing in Premiere Pro. Most of my audio is speech captured on a Rode Mic Pro (mono), with some ambient background and sometimes captured on an external recorder (stereo). In Pr the first thing I do is send any audio with speech to Audition and run a Vocal Enhancer on it, save it, and then in Pr I do an Audio Gain and Normalize All Peaks to -3. (I know I can do Vocal Enhancer within Pr itself but I like to see the changes to the wave file.) The problem is that if I then slice clips I have to reset some clips to that -3 again as it may be a quiet part of the recording. Not normally a problem but I wonder if I'm over complicating things or if there is a better way to maintain constant volume throughout. Could I be doing more in Audition, like doing a Hard Limiter or some other normalization? ... View more
