I have been working with gradient mesh by doing a tutorial. I have lots of questions about it but I will just ask one this time. What can you do with the gradient mesh after you are done? I notice you can't group the images or make a shape. So do you just leave it in the gradient mesh format and save your work and that's it? ~Thanks

I just recently reset my preferences to get my texture thumbnails to show up. Please tell me how to check my display drivers. When I drag an image over, it stays blank until I stop. Didn't use to do this. I update it everytime I see that it is needed. About the brushes. I really don't like the new brush system. It's a pain. Have to open each brush group individually. ~Thanks.

Lately strange things have been happening with my CC 2018. I uninstalled it and re-installed it and it didn't help. When I move an image, the picture inside the image disappears for a second. Not sure this is supposed to happen, it didn't happen with previous versions. There are other small quirks going on but that is the main one that bothers me. is this a normal thing?

I was trying to make a scatter using 2 colors only. I had one color in the foreground and the other one in the background. No matter where I set the brush setting, I could not get a scatter with only those 2 colors. If you can help me with that, please also link me to a page with all brush settings help. Thank you

I am having troubles with my CC 2018 and would like to do an uninstall and install to see if the performance gets any better. I have read the instructions for this and I have a couple of questions. After I uninstall, when I am doing the install, will I be getting a trial version instead of the complete version that I have? How do I make sure it is the one I am paying for? What should I have ready to do the install? (Password, license number, etc.) Not sure if I know the license number. Getting kinda nervous about doing that but I am not happy with the way it is performing now.

This problem has plagued me ever since I started using the latest version of Photoshop (CC 2018) When applying a pattern or a texture to my work-space, (sometimes with a contour, too) the little thumbnail images are too small to see, plus they are almost impossible to scroll through! Now it's so bad, it won't scroll at all even though I just loaded new ones. Why on earth did they not give us a larger thumbnail area for this? In an older version of PS the thumbnails work fine, even though they are still very small. Can someone give me some help with this? Thank you Running Windows 7 on this computer

I did that and I also discovered that my fill was setting to white every time I left and went back. So after clearing the appearance and watching my fill box more closely, I've got it right now. Thanks!

I am making a new scatter brush and following the directions in a tutorial I am doing. But when I use it, there are extra lines on the art board. It is a plain round brush that will represent snow when it is scattered. I have different shaped unwanted lines appearing, too, which don't resemble snow! I used the settings that the tutorial gave. Can you help? Thanks.

I'm okay with most of that. But look at Draw curves with the pen tool. Look at the first picture there. You see 2 handles and an anchor in the middle, right? Well, sometimes I can only see one handle and it prevents me from editing properly. I think it's hidden.

Okay it does work if I do it that way. Copy and save png, then "Place" into Illustrator. But it seems like a lot of trouble. Easier to just keep the whole art work in PS. And, yes, I was trying to transfer it as part of a layer. Seems you can't do that. Thanks to all!

I am used to selecting all, then modifying-contract in order to make a border or another smaller layer. Now I am using Photoshop CC 2017 and I can't do this. Is it not possible in this version or am I doing something wrong? When I try to contract, it stays in place- no contracting. Also-plan B, I tried the Modify/Border option and when I did a fill, it filled like it was feathered, no clean edge. So I can't do this either way, it seems! None of my tools were set to feather. Please help. I will send a screen shot if you think It would help.

I recently had to do a reset to clear up a problem. The problem is fixed but I'm having to re-set a lot of my preferences back like they were. Before the reset, my opening screen was a plain gray screen with layers and color swatches and nothing else. Now I am getting a different screen with recent files. I do not like this screen. How can I set it like I had it before? Thanks.

Okay I reopened PS and tried again. This time "Mask" was enabled (not greyed out). This time the stroke option was working. So the mask option has to be enabled for this to work. That solves the problem! Thank you all.

I am using the pen tool. The same way I do it with an older version of PS and it works fine there. It's a pain to have to save everything , close out and re-open in an older version of PS, which is exactly what I will have to do if this keeps up. The problem is probably in the top bar. I will send another screen shot of that. Should the word selection be there? Thanks.

When I right click on 2 or more layers, I see the option "Group". Usually, when I do this, the 2 layers group and stay grouped until I right click again and choose "Ungroup". If you cannot group layers why does it have that right click group option? It usually stays grouped, but lately it has been ungrouping on it's own. Also, some of my single layers are sometimes grouping with other layers when I don't want them to group. Nodes are the same thing as anchors. They are called different names in different software. The only thing new to me is the little blue and white circle. What is it used for. Sometimes it gets in the way of my editing.

I keep grouping my layers together and they ungroup themselves on their own. This is annoying. Is there a way to group the layers and have them stay grouped until I ungroup them? Also, since I haven't finished my lessons (I am slowly watching the Tasty Tuts videos) please tell me what is that little circle with the dot in the middle when I am using nodes? Thanks for helping.
