thats a "hard" way of doing it. create a rectangle, delete the middle top segment, select the bottom two anchors and drag the radius.

I dont know much about SW but it sounds like a maximum artboard size? 13" is tiny still so i wonder if its something in the SW export to ai... ? Can they export it to an EPS or PDF? See how that works opening in AI.

its a 1 px stroke it will fill square pixles so zoomed in that much going around and look that way. if you had a much bigger canvas, thicker stroke on a bigger curve zoomed out it will look smooth

I concur with Michael. The generator is lit inconsistent with the environment shadows. You will need to add bits of burn/shadows to various parts of the front of it and not just darken it to make it look realistic. also the scale is wrong. it is too big. also remove/crop the tree on the right to help with that too. /G

Are you creating a selection where you want to source from? (thats not required if that be the case) but if you dont deselect then you wont be able to paint outside the selection. To be honest I'm little bit confused what steps were taken to clone.

The clone stamp tool you select the source of the image that you wish to clone to a different area, and then you "paint" that area. So I'm not sure if using it incorrectly or if you are referring to something else, maybe a screenshot will help.

I would type out the word in the font I want then (hard to explain in steps but something like this) 1. Use Touch type to rotate/scale the letters until I am happy and then convert to paths and rearange letters in the layers panel in order top to bottom ungroup, select all: 2. in the appearance panel add new fill off set path with desired increment: 3. Group and back in the appearance panel add new fill x 2 off set path with desired increments: 4. Object/Expand appearance and scale/freetransform letter groups as to taste. (eg bottom black layer0 and here is a crude eg:

You can use "offset path" for a "cleaner" result (than stroke) and then object/expand it. Use your pathfinder options from there

you need to use a few separate blends and experiment with it sent to distance... (Edit: i also placed a few rings manually) thats what i did and a quick warp ... to get this relatively quickly.
