I struggled with this for a while too – it seems that it arbitrarily works sometimes and not others! The best solution I've found is to make sure of the following: The text layer that your hyperlink is within is UNGROUPED from any other objects and also on the TOP layer of your file. Once I'd resolved that, the links were working perfecly when published online.

Sorry to see so many are having issues. The only thing that works for me is to: 1. Start Creative Cloud Desktop 2. Go to "Updates" 3. Click "Check for updates 4. After the check, look in the "Updated recently"-list, double-click on "InDesign v 18.0 Running the software as administrator crashes it. I am using a Windows10 64bit-version and a GeForce 2080 Super-card.

Anshul, Might it have something to do with links that have a shared destination? When we built this guidebook we basically merged seven of our smaller guidebooks into one. Many of the links became shared destination links. We kept them that way since the compiled guide worked fine, in PDF anyway, though one of the smaller guidebooks sometimes popped open when we were editing a link in the compiled guide. It was annoying and we didn't really understand why the original InDesign file was opening, but we were happy as long as everything worked. Just wondering if an epub document reads shared destination links differently than a PDF.

Hey Anshul, In my case, the same. I understand that Fixed Layout is possible and when I try to export it everything works fine. But could I somehow have a Reflowable version as well? Do I need to make any changes? We are talking about 300+ pages, will be hard, if every single page needs changes 🙂 Thanks in advance, Rest Regards.

I tried something that worked in a EPUB reflowable. Break the text in stories so that each section where you wish to restart the numbering is a new story.

This update didn't solve the problem. I have to clear out the end user's temp folders within Windows 10 just to get it to start. As time goes on, the problem returns. It's baffling to me that a company such as Adobe doesn't fix their software.

I see, it was, yes. But your message showed a screenshot of the Dropbox settings. I checked my dropbox settings and they didn't match – I sent you a screen shot to show you and you didn't reply, and so I didn't know how to do it. The dropbox support team told me to right click on the file and set the file to local which changed the icon on the file from a grey cloud to a green tick. SO even tho your answer was along the right lines there were no further instructions or help and so I explored other avenues first.

Another suggestion: Disabling (or deactivating) unused/unnecessary fonts can improve your workstation's overall response time in digital media programs such as InDesign. Use a 3rd party font manager to do this. You can also delete fonts with the Windows Fonts utility in Control Panel/Personalization and uninstall them. Or go to Windows/Fonts select the font, right-click, and delete. However, be careful if you delete the font files: they might be needed to run Windows or a program on your system. Be sure to copy and back up your fonts before deleting any so that you can reinstall something that's needed by an application. There's also a known bug about this in the UserVoice forum, InDesign 2019 Fails to open properly and freezes. – Adobe InDesign Feedback Note that some folks report that closing the top Control panel and using the new Properties panel instead clears up the lag time. Personally, I did not have that success on Windows.

Please answer Anshul's questions. You can easily reinstall your previous InDesign version from the the Creative Cloud Desktop app (If you accidentally uninstalled the old version). Click on the menu (arrow) beside Open next to InDesign. Choose Manage > Other Versions and select the one you want to install.
