I select a layer and click on one of the Parametric filters. Regardless of whether the layer is a Smart layer or not, it creates a new layer and applies the filter. The problem is that the layer it creates is empty. If I drag the smart Filter to a new layer, everything on that layer disappears, but the information on the layer that previosly had the filter applied reappears. I have included screen captures of the filter applied to the top layer showing no content, and then another after I dragged the filter to the lower layer. You can see the content disapears on whichever layer the filter is applied. I just noticed that if I turn the filter off - desect the "eye" next to it - the objects in the layer re-appear Version: 27.1.0 Beta Windows 11 Enterprise 10.0.26200 Build 26200 I have attached the Photoshop file

I tried on this image with an obvious reflection and there was NO change to the image - If I lower the slider, I just have a black frame. - Windows system I tried to crop the image so it only contained the reflection, but the result was the same

Depending on what you want to do there would be 2 built-in ways. If you want to effect a layer or pre-comp there is a filter (I think called "Set Matte under Channels" There is also a switch labeled with a "T" next to Track matte that will allow you to use the alpha to effect layers above

This is the only way Premiere will do this "automatically" - as with most "Automatic" things it isn't necessarily the way you want it. At least you can get Premiere to generate the keyframes, then massage them yourself. You could probably get a script to rearrange them, but it would probably still need some manual tweeking.

Depending on what you're after adjusting the "Fades" slider to a shorter time may help. Also - you can get the settings close to what you want and then use the generate keyframe option and adjust as needed from there.

I think keyframing this correctly in Premiere would be very time consuming. After Effects has 3D built in and would be a much better place to accomplish this.

If you have a clapper you can sync manually. Once they are in sync you can either group them by selecting both audio and video, right clicking and selecting "group". You could also just use that sequence as a nest in a new comp, but I don't think you can get audio waveforms doing that.

I assume that is because it is my user location for the "Video" folder. I set to this folder in most of my ME renders, so I don't think that can be the issue. The comps in question are motion graphics made up of some PSD files and a background created with a Red Giant plugin. I had to get them out so I imported them into Premiere and rendered from there. That worked fine - same presets and destination.

It isn't by any chance the new smoothing feature is it. I believe it is turned on by default and if it is set high it can cause a fair amount of lag on strokes and will often appear as "freezing"

It has been a while but I think you may need to go into Preferences/Playback and adjust the 1394 output to the correct settings for the deck and select that as your playback device. It is a place to start anyway

The latest version also has a smoothing function for pens and brushes. There is a percentage of smoothing on the adjustment banner at the top of the screen. It does slow down the drawing speed, but it creates smoother results. You can turn it on and off as needed.

Check in Audition to see which audio driver it is using and then check the one in Premiere. It may be they are using different drivers. Select the same one in Premiere as you have in Audition. I have seen this issue before.

I too used Story often. But then I always use OnLocation for location shoots. The scopes and note section is very helpful. I have an old Win 7 Laptop I take on shoots. The various reports were a help, and just the ability to keep the script in with other production documents and be able to search by character or prop was a great perk.

The driver was the issue! My interface has an ASIO and a MME driver. One wsss selected in Audition and the other in Premiere. Set them both to ASIO and they are now at almost identical levels. Great call!

This is a joint question with Premiere, I guess. On my system there is a HUGE difference in output volume when I switch between Audition and Premiere and many other apps. Audition is nearly twice the volume on the exact same file. Meters read the same in both apps, but output from the speakers is radically different. I am unaware of a way to adjust this in either program. In past releases I remember a slight difference in level, but this is very radical. Audition seems to be "loud" even compared to other software I use. Anyone know of a way to adjust this?

I understand moving from one software to another has it's issues. Couldn't this be solved by not creating 4 points (ie in and out on both source and program) unless you wanted a fit to fill? 3 points are quite sufficient and also less time consuming - unless I'm missing something.

That's what I'm trying to do - both in the same app - AE - in a single file. The issue arises in trying to create the single file. As I stated in the OP, I know I can create 2 files, it just seems that there should be a way to create a single file. I'm making a number of these. Also much easier to manage a single file in Premiere, and less time consuming.

If you look at the original there is actually multiple triangles moving in multiple ways thru the screen. Trying to do that in premiere would be more time consuming. I guess I could create it in it's own timeline and drop that into my narrative timeline. As I say, I know this is possible in Fusion or Nuke. Seems odd to need to create 2 separate videos.
