Hi, my timeline doesn't show time in seconds , it happened today, I've already tried to Ctrl+click on timecode , checked it in project settings, composition setting and display in preferences,  I don't know what to do , it is so annoying

Hi there, the following behaviour has happened to me a few times the last days.I have an EXR Cryptomatte image sequence that works fine for the most part. The issue is that one specific frame shows black, as if the Cryptomatte effect is not affecting it.File size of that spefic frame is correct and it opens in photoshop normally -via Exr-IO pluging etc.AE, drivers, Windows and Mac (problem persists on both OS) are updated.Things I've tried:I imported that single frame -not as a sequence- and it works and acts fine (in fact I'm using this as the way to solve this issue, but it's a pain)I have tried replacing that frame with another one from the sequence (copied and renamed) and the problem persists -so it's not the actual frame it seems.Also tried with previous version of AE, problem persists.Thanks in advance for any help

I've read multiple posts here over recent years complaining about the working performance when using .csv files and I'm still experiencing those issues in AE 25.0.1 (and AE 24.6.3 too). I inherited a project that is using some expressions to pull in the csv data into some essential graphics comps. The problem is so bad I'm about to scrap this entire project and rebuild it using an aescript plugin and not touch csv's again. Are there any other workarounds or updates coming soon that may help? My setup:Recent Windows 11 Intel/nvidia PC workstation that works perfectly in any other AE/C4D project. CSV (exported from a spreadsheet) that is less than 20kb. I don't touch or update the csv while AE is open. In the Essential Graphics comps my frame render time is around 200ms. In my main comp that has just that same EG comp and a precomp of the csv text data (that is freeze framed) has a frame render time of ~5 seconds. Performance in this project is generally slow (click and wait +1 seco

 Issue - I created a new comp within a file to play around with video color. When I clicked back to the original composition, I got the error as seen in the screenshot. I cannot continue, and am essentially forced to close AE. Opening that comp at all results in the same error. Steps to reproduce - I am not sure what caused this issue. Hello Adobe staff. I have written a script in AE2025 that uses the app.scheduleTask method to switch icons in the listbox to achieve the effect of playing sequences. But when the listbox switches icons, the computer's memory keeps rising until it is full. If the sequence image is relatively large, or if there are many items in the listbox, this situation will be particularly obvious and severe. I think the problem is with the listbox. As long as the listbox displays images, the memory usage will accumulate and not be released. And the same script has no problem in versions below AE2025, and the memory is normal. My computer is a PC and uses the Windows 10 operating system. Hope Adobe staff can check this bug, thank you!

Hi All, I'm Using after effects 25.4.0 (win10). Turbulent Displace with amount set to 0 creates at glitch with some sort of memory dump (bad!)Quick temp fix:  set value to 0,0001  or any number that is not 0. Has anyone the same problem? /J  

Hi guys, I am hoping someone can help.I have the creative cloud suite and use these daily, but after effects seems to crash routinely, sometime within minutes, some times within about 45 minutes. This will then crash my entire machine, and while some functionality comes back eventually, I have to restart to be able to do anything useful. It always pops up with the same error about running out of memory, but having spoken to my internal IT team, the laptop is more than powerful enough to run this (HP ZBook Firefly G11, 32GB RAM), and i use to run it on a lesser machine perfectly fine. Is there any settings that might be causing this? I'm pulling my hair out! Thanks!Sam 

I'm trying to make a comp that is 1px wide for a slit scan type effect but the minimum seems to be 4px? I've never run into this before is this a known limitation?

Calling new Date() while running a progress bar causes the progress bar to never close. Even when the task is complete, I'm unable to close the progress window without restarting After Effects. The issue remains even when using $.hiresTimer instead of new Date(). The expectation is to estimate and display the time remaining inside the progress bar window and have the window close after the task is complete. I've yet to find a workaround. Working on Windows 10 / AE 2025Mike

When I export AE hangs at the end, the progress bar gets to the end and then AE just hangs for 5 to 20 mins. Export is always fine immediately after progress bar gets to 100% but AE is unresponsive like its still processing the last frame.Doesn't happen all the time normally after I have had it open for and hour or 2. Happens with any format (mov, h264, jpeg, tiff) and any duration even a single frame export.

When opening an After Effects project saved with an english AE, in a German language version, the Fill effect gets reported as missing. (The German version obviously has the “Maske füllen” effect installed) AE Version 25 (German)MacOS 14.7.8 We tried to open the same project with AE 23.x (German) and it worked without problems.

its not about capslock and i deleted and re-downloaded After Effects. still not working   

I am having the exact same issues. Just navigating the UI causes freezing and the beach ball.  MacBook Pro, 64gb RAM, M2 Max Pro and I can't even do basic AE work that was easy and quick to do 10 years ago.  Adobe's quality control is absolutely unacceptable. 

Hi everyone,I am receiving the message above in screen crab when I activate the 3d effect on any layer, the message appears, and the rest of the work stops. The message is showing that "Cannot create font 'Tahoma", but actually, this is an incorrect message. I don't have the font Tahoma installed in my system.If one has the same glitch or something, please guide me on how to get rid of this issue. It is very annoying, and I am also not able to work on 3d in AEs.

Estoy aprendiendo a hacer un tipo de edición y me sucede que quiero hacer la capa del texto matte alpha de la capa luz pero no tengo forma de hacerlo a menos que retire que la capa sea 3D. Como muestro en el video, en el tutorial la persona tiene sus capas en 3D y le aparece para convertir sus capas en matte alpha pero yo toda capa que esta activada en 3D me quita la posibilidad de convertirla en matte alpha. De que forma podría solucionar esto?

Hey everyone,I’m having a weird issue in After Effects and I’m stuck.Every time I try to export a composition using Render Queue, I get this error:“After Effects error: An unexpected error occurred while exporting a composition. Error Code: 19972.”I’ve tried restarting AE and my computer, clearing cache, and changing the output format/folder… but it still happens.Has anyone run into this before? Motion tile stopped working like it used to. If I change the output width or height over 100, over a turbulent displaced effect, it just crops everything... It works fine on 2024 😞

I have had After Effects for months and never had an issue with it. For some reason, when I booted it up today, it opens then crashes immediately. When writing a script that calls replaceWithPlaceholder(), an error is thrown if the 'name' parameter is greater than 31 characters/bytes in length: "Unable to call 'replaceWithPlaceholder' because of parameter 1. The string is too long, it can only be 31 bytes after conversion." I've seen forum threads from 2014 regarding this, so it's a very old issue. Thanks!

Headphones are crashing after effects...So.. I got new bluetooth headphones. These don't connect to my pc very well and get disconnected every few minutes but connect back a few seconds later. If I'm trying to use After effects while using these headphones the playback just stop working after a few minutes of editing and After Effect crashes. If the playback stoped working but after effects didn't crashed yet, opening the audio output menu in the preferences panel will crash it.It's unusable.Changes on the audio output shouldn't crash After Effects.Does anyone has any idea on how can I fix this? It only happen with these headphones, but I'd like to keep using them because the older ones I had brought me medical problems with my ear.   Is there a fix for this?(I can use other bluetooth headphones fine with After Effect. This problem only happen when I'm using these new bluetooth headphones, which work well on my phone but not on the pc)windows 10i5-10400fnvidia
