After Effects

Scripts that are working in 2023 are not working for me in 2024. It appears to be some javascript array methods that are causing the issue. I wrote a simple script to test and am getting the same results: works fine in 2023, does not work in 2024 or the latest beta. This is on an M2 Macbook Pro. I recently installed a USBC audio interface M-Audio Air 192|6. Ever since then, After Effects has developed a glitch. It looks like it's trying to use the 192|6 for a mic input also. All I want this for is a digital audio output. The glitch is occuring when the mic can't be found, and it intermittantly cuts out, slowing the playback audio. This mic indicator will disappear and reappear when the audio cuts out. and is not present at any other time other than when AE is playing audio. The machine runs flawlessly with every other program.Any ideas?

Hi everyone, I created a 3D object on Adebode dimension and I rendered it as an OGJ file, but when I imported it on After Effects the files did not display texture just black something that I am unable to add color to. I have added pictures of the exported obj files and what they displayed on After Effects.Please it is urgent.

Annoying that the tool panel is only available in this flavour. I use an ultra widescreen and have my video on left half and all tools/panels right half. The width of the tools panel is obnoxious. Also, do not like the properties panel keep opening when i already have what I need with character and paragraph panels.

I have applied an effect to my text but the panel where I can change opacity, the start ect is not showing. Can someone tell me what's wrong please?

Bonjour, Je rencontre un bug un peu ennuyant sur AE, j'ai ajouté non pas sans mal cette cascade d'eau sur mon plan en utilisant l'effet "4 coins" pour l'adapter en continu à mon plan, après quelques heures j'ai plus ou moins reussi à l'adapter à l'ensemble du plan mais avec quelques tremblements... Comme c'est de l'eau j'ai de la chance qu'on dirait des bourrasques de vent, je laisse donc et j'en arrive aux masques, j'ai des éléments qui passe devant cette cascade que j'aimerais masquer, je peux le faire, sauf que le masque est totalement décalé par rapport au tracé, je vous glisse une image. Je peux également le faire en désactivant la déformation 4 coins, mais j'ai peur que tous les masques se redécalent une fois que je réactive le Fx 4 coins.... Que faire svp ? j'ai du mal m'y prendre quelque part non ? 😔🤔 🤔

Hi I do my speed ramping in AE then export using media Encoder to PP but whatever export settings i try my video quality always suffers with respect to its color profile. I attached an image with an example. It looks like each color tone is broken and not blended property. It may have something to do with the color bit depth. What export settings can fix this? I tried using dynamic link but its extremely slow even with my fast PC. I film with an FX3 in 10bit slog3 4k. The original footage looks great it only degrades after exporting from AE.

Hi all, I'm creating a lower-third speaker template in the Khmer language to be used in Premiere Pro. For lowerthirds, they place an honorific (simillar to Dr., Mr. or Mrs.) in front of every name, but they requested the font weight and size to be different than the name for distinction purposes.  Because you can't change the style of individual words without changing the style of the entire template in Premiere, I created two text boxes with editable fields (one for honorific and one for name) and linked their anchor points so that the name's x position would change based on the length of the honorific. But I'm having trouble with the y positions.  In the Khmer language, they have words that act as descenders and ascenders in the font, which change the height of the text box based on what's in it. Unlike in English where the baseline remains the same even with a difference in ascenders and descenders, Khmer's text boxes don't behave the same way. I'm trying to make it so tha

Hi Everyone, I'm wondering whether there is a way to parent or pickwhip, or an expession that allows effects to procedurally update when it's layer scales or changes. I have a stroke which has Roughen Edges applied to it, I've sent the style to how I like but when the shape changes/scales I lose the look I've set. Is there a way to automate this so the effect updates to the scale? I don't want to precomp as I still need control of the shape within it's original comp. Any help would be greatly appeciated! Thanks

I've been using After Effects professionally, every day, since 2003, and I've just about had it with this software. i9-9900K, 64GB, 2080Ti. Several fast SSDs. Yes, I clear the cache every 10 minutes. And the performance is just completely awful. Adding/editing text is a nightmare. Moving a layer's anchor point is horrendous. Editing bezier handles on masks is excruciating. Sometimes I'll release the mouse button and whatever I had been dragging will continue to move with my cursor because of the extreme sluggishness. God forbid I have more than five layers in my timeline -- this crud gets slower than molasses. I don't know how you've managed to make the performance increasingly worse since 2015, but you've found a way. I regret ever choosing a profession that requires that I use this trash 8-10 hours a day. Thanks.  

See image below. I had this in the BUG section but no one from Adobe apparently looks in that folder! Issue: Save new project in folder A. Save another new project in folder B. Go to use Open Recent of project in A. Make changes and Ctrl-Shift S to save under ammended name, and it save not where the file resides but where I last saved a file in folder B. This is nonsense! If I use Open Recent, then when saving WE SHOULD ALREADY BE IN THAT FOLDER WHERE OPEN RECENT FOUND IT!!. I lost work because of this BS. I made changes to a file Open Recent, Saved As a new file but didn't realize it went into a totally different folder of a project I worked on recently. That project was finished, packaged and archived, with the work folder deleted. SAME FOLDER THAT AE SAVED AS TO, and I didn't realize. It also save a back-up file in that other folder. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!    In the screengrab above you can see what I mean.

Hi all,I have a bit of a dilemma which Im trying to diagnose but having trouble (hence this post)Im building out a template for my lower thirds and Im trying to add in a checkbox that will change the position of the lower third comp to move the comp higher when there are subtitles present. So the idea is that, I have subtitles in the video, in my essential graphics panel, I have a checkbox which when enabled, will move the comp higher. Hi, I'm trying Track Camera in AE and from one of the targets I R click and create camera and sold but the solid is so small I can't see it at all, I precompose and change the size of it but it's still ridiculously small I can hardly see it? How do I fix it? Screenshots attached  

I don't know if everyone is having this problem, but After Effects is absolutely impossible to work. I'm working using simple shapes, a gradient layer and a text layer. And After Effects is just slow with something so simple like that. Inside the program, the mouse movement gets really laggy, it takes forever to render. And I'm not using external files, I'm not using adjustment layers and I'm not using any Motion Blur. I'm feeling After Effects is getting worse and worse on each version Adobe release. And there's no way the problem is my computer, since I'm using a Mac Studio with M1 Max, 64Gb RAM and 4T storage. I can't find a resonable explanation for all this lag on every project. Honestly, I'm starting to think about migrating to another software, since Adobe seems to just ignore all the After Effects problems.

I have macos 10.15.7 Catalina and the latest version of after effect does not work with my mac so is there any other version that does work and how do I install it?

Could you help me with my problem, I'm already giving up a little. What happens is that when I try to import a 3D .OBJ or glb file I get this window. I am currently using version 2024 and I have tried doing this in version 2023 but I still get the same problem. Thank you, I hope someone can help me with something effective.

AE Legends please help me! The selected rotoscope area doesn’t match the final output. Also the rotobrush only responds to user inputs by making small and random changes to the rotoscope rather than doing exactly what the brush dictates. I have been trying for 3 days to fix this. Maybe I just can't rotoscope this clip? Arrgh!

Hello, Recently I've been having some trouble with my Sapphire Plug-in, more precisely, the S_Shake effect. Whenever I try to render my composition, it always fails when it gets to the part that contains that effect.  Also my After Effects displays some sort of error when the rendering fails, that says: Sapphire Plug-ins error Error: Out of memory allocating temp image handle of -1792071600 bytes. *a picture of the error is attached* Please help me, I've tried a lot of different methods to fix this for the past few days, like clearing the cache, disabling the gpu rendering and using software only, rendering through AE's rendering queue and AME etc. Also my storage is far from full and I've got 23.1GB of available physical memory aka RAM. My laptop's specs are specified here:Asus Rog Strix G17 Processor: Intel i7 10th generation (i7-1070H CPU @2.60 GHz, 2592 Mhz, 6 cores, 12 logical processors)Installed RAM: 32 GB64 bitNVIDIA GeForc
