 i downloaded the After Effect template and I found an adjustment layer with this effect and i don't know how i make a screen effect After effect2020

Hi!I have been tasked to try and learn After Effects and make a moving illustration of a saxophonist.I have not tried AE before, and I am trying to follow tutorials, but it gets really hard to proceed when I stumble at the very first thing I need to do!:Create Shapes from Vector Layer > And then a select few shapes goes invisible! They are not white, I've checked.Why does this happen? The very first time I did it, it worked, but the size of everything was wrong so I changed it in Illustrator and started over again in AE, but now with this problem. What in the world is going on here?

cant seem to find the control for trim path start and end in the new panel update and not showing in the timeline!

Hello, I have a frustrating bug on the latest after effects version 22.3Everything works fine until I close the tab of after effects. When I return to the program, the time indicator becomes static and doesn't move during the video preview, the video is playing perfectly by the way but the frustrating part is that you can't see the PTI at all, (the red moving cursor disappears) so you have no idea what timestamp you're previewing. I need to go to Preferences and clear data and cache every time to make it work again, but this is very time-wasting! These are my PC's specs:Processor12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KFVideo CardNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070Operating SystemWindows 10RAM32 GB  GPU is working under the latest update.

Hello,I'm trying to find out if there's an expression that adds up every X images?The problem:A machine that 2 times per second will increase its value by 88kg.In other words, a calculation that would add the imposed figure of 23604 by 88 every 12 images.As I couldn't find this calculation, I did it by hand ^^, but I'd still like to find a less restrictive solution.Thanks

Hello,I am still a beginner in After Effects and can not find a solution to a problem. So I hope for help here.I have created a composition with an animated background and a text. I would like to use this composition in several other compositions. The background and the animation should always be the same but the text should be different each time. But as soon as I change the text, it is also changed in all other compositions. Can I prevent this somehow?Thanks in advanceGabi(Windows 10, After Effects CC)

I've run across this several times in many years and just ran into it again today. Times when I'd like to continuously rasterize WITHOUT collapsing transformations. To get nice sharp vector shapes without altering how effects, anchor points, or movement works on the comp. (The movement is perfect...just make it sharp!) Has anyone gotten an explanation from Adobe why these are tied together? Is there any hope of getting them two separate switches?

Hello everyone !  I hope you can help me. I work on procreateI export in PSD.I transfer to my PC.I open after effect, I drag the PSD document to the left and normally it open :After that, everything work just fine ! BUT I've done the same thing since the new version and this window no longer opens.So I go to file > import > check these boxes:and that's all it opens for me: and not the 11 layersThis layers open on Photoshop tho. What didn't I do right? What's miscalibrated?it's not procreate because when I export old files today it works. I hope you can help me,Have a nice day!

so i am having problem with my tracker panel in after effects. you can see that i have selected my layer, that i want to motion track on, but i can't select anything from the tracker panel.

I'm trying to adjust these elements under transform, but there's no option to do so. Any help please?

Hi,I am trying to create 5 gauges on my video that will display different values and would need to change 18 times throughout the video.  The gauges values would need to bu updated a few times, so im hoping to create and easily updatable workflow. I manage to create an excel generated IF expression, but id like to make the transitions smother. Could you help me come up with an expression that i can generate from excel and has the desired results?  Target video, excel table and current progress attached. 

Good Day Friends, I am finally leveling up my game and not going to edit in 264 anymore. I have converted using media encoder 264 files to DNXHR and it creates two mono audio tracks with the one attached video track. I understand this is expected conversion behavior into DNXhr. My question is that since the original audio was recorded via hotshoe mic which is only mono, Sony Digital Shotgun Microphone | ECMB10, then why do I need two audio tracks for stereo when the original recording was in mono? I assume since the original audio is mono then these two tracks produced with dnxhr conversion are just two idential copies and do not have any stereo left and right data? If they are just copies I am considering just deleting one of them so I can work with keyframes way easier, balance way easier, mix etc... Thanks so much! 

Hello! I've been trying to fix my 3D camera Tracker for a while. Every time I try to use it, no matter what I get a pop-up that says "Unable to obtain dynamclink server connection." I've tried to uninstall, use Adobe CC Cleaner, enabled the GeoTracker plug-in from KeenTools, use ae in safe mode, removed any Firewalls, and nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any solution for how I can fix this issue and get the 3D Camera Tracker to work?

Hello, I've got a problem that has been occurring when rendering the second time. I normally render multiple times to check the end result of my video to see if i like it, if i don't ill change up a few effects or adjust the clips.I've cleared cache and memory multiple times but that hasn't change anything, I've increased the RAM space available for AE i have 28.9 GB and set the RAM for other applications to 3 GB, and that's the lowest I can go. (as showed in the photo below.) I've rendered it through media encoder queue (H.264), through after effects render queue (lossless and QuickTime) but they both always stopped at the same point.It always stops rendering at the same point, and that's the end of a clip where i barely have any effects on, only keyframed opacity (100 to 25).At this point i have no clue what to do, I'm out of ideas and if you have any recommendations id be more that happy to read them, here are my specs:os - Windows 11 Proprocessor - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core Processo

Hello I managed to create a customisable template in Ae for use in Pr. But in Pr, I cannot customise effects such as 'Range selector' and 'Ease' (under the Slide up by word effect in Ae) in Pr.Is it because the Sldie up by word effect is native only to Ae that's why it is not working in Pr?Please helpThanksAttaching screenshots  

Just discovered the Wiggly Selector and I'm curious if it's possible to create a loop for the wiggly selector? I wasn't able to find any info in regards to this.. Thanks All and Happy New Year!

Hi,I am new to after effects and have imported a lottie file using the body moving plugin. I have scaled my lottie animation to 50 x 50px (see attached screenshot) but when I uplaod my lottie file to my website, it display a lot larger (see attached screenshot).  I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out but have not come up with a solution yet. Can anybody please help with this? Thanks in advance...

Hi!I'm trying to put together an mogrt in AE in 4x5 (1080x1350 pixels), but when used in an Premiere project it appears square!Any tips? The Premiere project can be 4x5 (1080x1350) or an standard HD 1920x1080 - same thing happens.If i make the comp thats used in the mogrt 4x5 (but in 864x1080) it appears in 4x5 in an 4x5 (1080x1350) project in Premiere but smaller offcourse since it's smaller then the timeline.

Hi! I'm working on a pretty complex AfterEffects file and I'm running into a problem where, everytime I switch 3d on for my layers, the preview stops loading/loads insanely slow (like, 1 second of the preview takes 1 minute to load). I have the resolution set to quarter and when 3d is off they load fine.  Any advice? Thanks!

Hi I'm trying to animate a shape layer in Ae using trim paths. I've applied the offset 180/90 degrees so that trim starts from a point I want it to. I created the path in Ai and is sort of like a rectangle, and then converted to shape layer in Ae. But the corner of the triangle where the trim ends to 100% leaves the corner faded and of a different color. The original path was closed using command+option+J and command+J to make a perfect corner. I've checked if the anchor points joined properly and they did.         If I change the offset so that path starts from the corner or any other place, it animates the shape perfectly and no fade appears.  Tried with different colors and with grey caps are clealy visible.  

I have a group, and add some statictext control, but how to removeall, because i want to dynamic generate it, make it behave like listbox. listitem cant onclick and cant custom draw(like changecolor)

I can't find anything online about the bad adaptive filter value error for 5027 :: 12 and I have no clue how to fix it. The error only occurs when I use playback, I am able to scrub through my timeline without issue. please if anyone has suggestions I'd like to know how to fix this.
