After Effects

Hi, I was learning if else expressions and practicing it, the tutor only gets one expression when he whipped the 'color' of a shape layer (stroke) to the slider control. but am getting two and also an error. why does this happen? 

After effects 2023Mac OSSonoma 14.1.2Apple m2 pro chip16gb memory I need to rotoscope pixelated footage of a running body for a piece of health club advertising. There are loads of settings in rotoscoping that I don't understand that I could fiddle with imperfectly, but I would rather just show the footage and what I'm doing and you can perhaps tell me what settings I should adjust (propagation/base refine edge matte etc) and how. I can't reshoot/improve the footage because the footage is taken from a. low-resolution medical camera not a videograpers camera. Towards the beginning of this video you can see the video I'm working with, and towards the end you can see it in the context of the whole composition its going to be in.  Thanks ever so much

After effects 2023Mac OSSonoma 14.0Apple m2 pro chip16gb memory I did a track of a small high contrast area on this man's body and want to edit the target . As you can see, I'm in the motion tracking window, with the motion source correctly chosen, but edit target is greyed out. 

I am creating a MOGRT for my team to use. It is a simple title that animates on and off. I have already set protected regions for the intro and outro. The problem I am facing now is that there are moving elements in the background of the title sequece that I need to playback at the speed throughout the animation, regardless of the duration set by the user. If the user would shorten the MOGRT in Premiere, it is okay for the background to be cut short, but it looks awful if the background elements are moving one speed in the protected regions, then changing to adjust to the time diffenerce. Is there a way to lock a layers duration in a MOGRT to prevent its timing from changing? Again, it would be totally fine if that layer is cut short. It is just some movement in the background.  Thanks!

this has suddenly started happening and I do not understand why. Projects that used to open just fine now show this popup message, which cannot be removed from the screen without force quitting after effects.  I have uninstalled after effects and reinstalled to no avail. I have not installed any third party plugins.   

I am getting this error while working on my project. It pops up and when I close it the preview window is just black and I can't see anything. I don't know what any of this means so I don't know how on earth to fix this. I am working in V24.0.3,  I have Media Encoder V24.0.3. and Premiere V24.0.3.

  Hi! i'm trying to make my first edit on after effects, however when I try to play the edit there is this green line above it and after the green line it won't continue playing. How can I fix it??   Title edited by Mod.

Good day community! So here's my issue. I have two diferent pc's on wich is work. 1 at home and 1 at work. I work with a lot libraries. So when I create a video using an item from one of those libraries, after effects seems to be placing this item on my local hard drive. Because of this every time I switch from pc I have to relink every single item from the library's. Is there a way to prevent After Effects to store this copy on my hdd and directly link to the library?

I didn't report this as a bug, because I don't know if it is. It might just be my local AE or file, but after the recent AE 2024 update on Dec 5, I'm having the weirdest issue I've ever experienced in AE.I have an AE file with Illustrator vector art, and audio tracks. I'm animating characters using Limber and VO wuith mouth animation from Adobe Character Animator. As of today, when I hit preview to hear the audio to know what I'm animating to, the audio plays back at about 1000Xs speed. The VO track is 1:10, and it plays back in about a quarter second, like an old tape scrubbing at high speed.My comps and sub comps are all at the same frame rate, 23.976. vI've even imported the source audio without the Character Animator assets, and just the audio on it's own plays back at that super-high speed. It's stopped my forward motion on this project, completely. I've tried several different ways of asking the question on Google, and have found zero posts describing any issue even close to this

I have been having a problem in the preview of my after, where it had like freezing, and I didn't understand why this was happening, since previously it worked super well, now I discovered the problem by chance, but I still can't find a solution. I have two monitors, one of 144 Hz and the other of 60 Hz, obviously my main screen is the 144 which is the largest and I do all my work on it, by pure chance I opened the program on the 60 screen, and surprise. , it worked great without a single freeze, but when I moved the project to the other screen everything was horrible again. If this somehow helps a little more to find a solution, I'm looking forward to it because the truth is that I wouldn't want to work on such a small screen.

What should I do to download the Bodymovin plugin and solve this error issue ?

오늘 새로 나온 업데이트를 바로 진행하였고 애펙에 들어가서 glb 형식 파일을 import 하였지만 나타나지 않았습니다. 이건 컴퓨터 자체의 문제인가요? 프로그램 들어갈때엔 어떠한 경고 문구도 뜨지 않았습니다. 그리고 obj 파일은 아에 안열리던데 이것도 정상인가요?

i have a problem with Mir3 effect, when i use it in after effect and watch preview in the app there is no problem, but when i export the video by H264 in media encoder the part of video that Mir3 effect  is used, reduse quality and dissarange colors.

Well, first of all, never worked with vr comp before, so sorry for my lack of knowledge on the subjectSo, i rotoscoped an actor and made a camera tracking to fix a Text in place while the camera movesso, as you m ay guess, this is a Orbit video, so eventually, the actor goes in front of the text, so as a regular user of After FX i thought "Just rotoscope him and put it above the text"Everything goes as planned, until i try to rotate the camera around...So, my assumption was "well, thats becausee im trying to reorient the VR camera center, so obviously, the rotoscopy will be locked in place, so its just render this and it should work...right?Well, i came to the conclusion i dont know how to do it at all, i appreciate any kind of help

Im trying to change the text in a template ive used in after effects but it wont let me there isnt a text later just the ones in the attachment ive tried as few ways of trying to change the text, but it just wont let me.the template was exported from aftereffects after i had finished editing it but whenever i try and change the text it wont let me do it but im able to change the colour of the glow.

Any one has a suggestion on how to make grain effect follow the shape when it moves.. Default is that when I apply a grain effect on a shape layer, and I move the shape layer, then the grain effect just stays in place and doesnt move with the shape layer... it looks like a grain overlay over the entire composition.. looks weird. Thnx!

hi everyone,after few days of frustrating search - i'm hoping to find an answer here.i noticed that the path of a shape layers with offset/zig zag/wiggle is extruded in 3d properly, but can't find how to access these vertices with the sdk. i tried dynamic streams, mask suite, and even artisian.any help would be appreciated.

Created a new project at the end of October and saved the file. On November 14 I went back to that project and AE autoconverted the file to a different version and I was able to make more edits. Today I try to open the file and it says the file was created with AE version 24.01 and cannot be opened with this version. Not sure how to get AE to open the file. Appreciate any suggestions. 

Hello, Does anyone now how to do flickering stars on a flat image, I have done flickering stars a long time ago, i believe it was with the Fractal Noise but I can't remember if the image was flat or if I had done it the way I'm trying to know.I've masked circles over each star and wanted to make it so they would just glow slightly one by one in a random order but fractal noise doesn't seem to be doing anything. Any ideas?

Hello! I am about to animate an isometric scene with lots of gradients. But when using C4D Renderer, all the gradients on the 3D object are disabled. OK then. I tried a few cheats to bypass this inconvenience, but I achieved nothing. So I am asking — is there any chance to get gradients on the stage except of some sort of complicated light setup to mimic the design made in Illustrator? (No option to limit light just for one object in the scene as in C4D.) Sure, I can switch to Classic 3D and give up the opportunity to extrude the objects (which is the only reason I shifted to C4D Renderer ), but this is the last option I want to fall in. Thank you.
