After Effects

Dear teamI have exploring simple animation of arrows in After Effects using trim paths.I have created a simple Illustrator artifact that connects a couple of boxes with arrows.The arrow in Illustrator has been created using a stroke with the end of the stroke being an arrow. However, i am unable to get it to animate the right way in After Effects. Hello, Ever since I updated to the latest version of After Effects (2023) playback has been PAINFULLY slow. AE has become borderline unusable. Here is a breakdown of the issues I am experiencing (primarily when comping & playing back multilayered EXRs but even a simple mp4 @ 1080 res is slow):  1. RAM previews take FOREVER, even for simple things like playing an MP4 file.2. Even after a comp is fully rendered (green bar), comps still don't play in real-time. 3. I constantly get a RAM out-of-memory error. I have 128GB of RAM...4. I often hit the spacebar and nothing happens.5. Changes in comp don't appear unless I restart the program.6. Overall, the program is super buggy, slow, freezing and even crashing. 7. RAM preview gets halfway through a comp and jumps back to the beginning of the comp Machine Build: CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 32-Core Processor 3.69 GHzRAM: 128 GBGPU: 2x NVIDIA  Geforce RTX 3090WINDOWS OS BUILD: 22621.2283NVI

I'm getting a lot of memory errors in After Effects 2023 and it appears to be a combination of large images (5000+ pixels in width or height), the Camera Lens Blur effect, and having Multi-Frame Rendering on.  I have a beefy computer and haven't experienced these errors in the past outside of accidentally setting the Motion Tile effect to it's max values. Hello, I am using AE 2023, trying to animate a stroke using trim path. I drew that as a single path in AI. when I convert that as a  shape it creats so many groups! When trim path is applied start, end animation is working on all those groups individually, not as a whole. How can I keep it as one! 

Hello,I imported different layers from illustrator, I create a shape from vector layer, activated the 3d button.Everithing fine till here, when I change the renderer option from classic 3d to cinema 4d, some of the shapes disappear. what I can do?? thanks

Hi, I'm having issues when rendering out a tiff sequence with an alpha channel in After Effects 17.7 or above. The text moves to the upper left of the frame. It works fine with ProRes 4444 (w/alpha), DPX (w/alpha), or anything without an alpha. This started with AE 17.7 and is still there in 18.0. Thanks

Ok, I am not exactly an expert nor am I a begineer at AE. We have this project that has text and my boss is complaining the text is pixelated. I explained to her that AE is a pixel based software and it is not vector based like Illustrator but she is not accepting it. So these are the things I have tried but the results are the same.1) Import the text as PNG2) Import the text as AI file3) Export as PNG sequence4) Export 4k We are playing this on playback on a 32" TV Screen. Does the TV screen affect the pixelation? What can I do to fix it or if anyone has any other reasons I can offer up to my boss. I took a screenshot at 100% with full resolution. Every thing is at 100% scale, nothing has increased in scale. Yes, render settings are at "Best".

Hey there,I'm trying to make a video with the text appearing on screen as the subject talks. I'm using Montserrat and there are some words I have to highlight with the Extra-Bold Font Style, while the other words remain on Medium. However, when I activate it, some of the letters that are supposed to be on All-Caps change to lower-case. It wasn't happening before, and slowly started yesterday, with a few letters, and today even more letters are affected with this bug. When I remove those letters, set the font back to Extra-Bold and try typing them, the font changes to Times New Roman. Very annoying, considering the fact that it was working fine day-before-yesterday. I had a workaround where I changed the style to Black on Montserrat and the letters somewhat matched with Extra-Bold, but now even on Black the letters remain on Lower-Case with the font changing to Times New Roman anytime I try to type the letters out on All-Caps. Hello, I am following one tutorial, there the tutor brings a bounding box around an anchor point and rotates it. How can I do that. How did he bring a bounding box around a bazier point?  

Here on the screenshots you could see that whenever I use multiple view option there's always pops out something like shadow of the original layer and it's kind of interrupt working on the projects. Also I don't know why but sometimes I can't choose the exact view that I need, instead I have them both selected as shown on pictures. Please help me figure this out. Hi everyone. I have a simple character created from a stroke with a rounded line cap. It bounces a ball up and down with it's head and bottom half. I can't get the eyes and mouth to move with the path as the head moves up and down when linked to the layer so I've been moving them frame by frame which looks rubbish. If you have any ideas that would be great. Thank you

Hi all I was on AE 23.1 since its release last December. Last week, I had a project requiring some Cinema 4D work.Workflow: Opening a project in PP, Adobe dynamic link, new AE composition. In AE, I opened a new C4D project. After having worked and regularly saved the project for a couple of hours. I tried to close all 3, starting with C4D. AE would repeatably close the project panel and than freeze. Upon closing via task manager, the dynamic link in PP was broken and could nto be fixed by any measure. Yesterday, I spent 6 h with Adobe customer support who tried to fix the issue via remote support. The only solution they could figure out was going back to PP/AE version 23, where everything works fine. The C4D versions were the ones supplied with the corresponding AE version installation. My question is, did anybody encounter similar issues and have they been fixed by the latest AE version 23.2? I am in the middle of a project and do not want to test it myself until finished.&n

Hi, Im new to the forums but have been using After Effects for a while now...I just got a HD Camcorder and shot a movie with some friends. I composited in AE CS5 and then rendered/exported it as a H.264 file. I viewed the movie in Windows Media Player, Quicktime, iTunes, and VLC, and the quality is below Full HD, it is less than Standard Definition.CAMERA:1920x108030fpsAE SETTINGS:1920x108030fpsaround 9mins of footage COMPUTER:Win 64-bit4GB RAMnvidia 1GB (Graphics)i5 (2.53Ghz) I then viewed movie in AE, RAM preview, it looks stunning! So I cant work out whether it is the format (H.264 or MP4), the rendering settings, the media players or it wont view in FullHD due to my hardware? Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

I want to animate this to have a flowing motion, but am not sure what is the most efficient way to do so. Any suggestions?

Add a customisable chapter-type screen to your videos with this easy to reuse transition.   SortedFood are a food channel on YouTube producing high quality content and while food is their main focus, they are pretty slick with motion graphics. So when they started using a transition I'd never seen before, my VFX interest was piqued.  Copies of an image fall from above and stack up to fill the screen. They pause for a moment, before falling off the screen. So I began an investigation to see if I could figure out how to reproduce this effect. And I discovered that while it was simple to acheive using Red Giant's Trapcode Particular, it wasn't possible to do using any of the native particle effects. I was helping my boyfriend thru video call to easily edit a video, he has the CS6 version, and he had no Video or Audio playing, normally.  The Audio would play by clicking "0" but that's about it, I saw on another forum that it may be that the eye icon on the Include section on Preview window might not be selected but I came to find out that in CS6 there isn't even that option in it, so where can I find this option or is it something else on the CS6 version?? (caps lock is not on btw).    

When I click "Select Subject" button on Photoshop.Software automatically selects person or anohter subject etc. But I want this for every frame of video.In photoshop,you need to add a layer for every frame and it is too hard.How can I make "select subject" in After Effects? Rotobrush tool is really useless,and inconsisten,and it never select auto subject.

Hello! I'm working on an animation and suddenly noticed that some of the layers that I've animated are completely invisible, even though they were just fine a few hours ago. The Ai files are linked correctly, the comps and keyframes are there, and I can see the bounding boxes, but the images themselves are gone. Some of the missing images are Ai files that I've imported as compositions, and some of them are shapes that I created within Ae.So far I've:- Cleared the cache- Restarted Ae- Renamed Ai files and re-linked them as suggested in this other thread about invisibe layers.But the layers are still invisible. The animation needs to be done in the next 24h, I'd really appreciate your help! Hello for some reason when I import a video from premiere pro to after effects I get this weird thing for some reason, 1/3 flips to the other side and the other 2/3 to the other. 

I'm trying to rotate each of these bicycle wheels on their skew, and what I mean by that is not have them rotate normally as if they are standing still. Similar to how Sonic the Hedgehog's legs form a skewed oval when they speed up. The object is to have them spinning on their angle and fly off the screen. Scoured the internet. Thanks.  

Hi All,  I have been doing Holiday videos for 3 years now, in which I project onto object and play a video. I use After Effects to create my solid layers which becomes my template. I then create a 20 + minute video using the solid layers to place the video into so it plays only in that specific location. This is then rendered using Media Encoder.  This time around for some reason my layers are moving on their own after it is rendered in Media Encoder. As you see in the pictures one is showing the shapes perfectly placed where they should be in After Effects. The second picture shows that the shapes move after it is rendered in Media Encoder.  The reason I am rendering just the shapes without the video was to troubleshoot the issue, and keep it simple and fast to render, so I left the videos out for now.  I keep all settings as defaul for the render in Media Encoder. Hello, I was following one tutorial from MDS (motion design school), there the tutor selects position properties of one layer, he stes keyframes for only one layer/group  then same preopertie's keyframes (position) are set for all  other layers like magic! He didn't say how did he do that. I googled 'how to select same properties of different layers in AE" but nothing I found useful. how did he do that?
