After Effects

I recently installed ITC Garamond in my computer. The font did not have any issues being installed and was validated. The font shows up in Illustrator, but it is not found in After Effects or Premiere (the two programs I use most). Any help would be appreciated. Running Premiere 12.1 After Effects 15.1 (all other apps most recent update as well) and macOS High Sierra 10.13.5.

Now I am having this issue.. can anyone help??

I noticed that my little icons next to source name and parent link have disappeared, any idea on how I get those back? I circled the area I'm talking about. This is totally driving me crazy!

Hello, first post on this sight Like a few other people I've seen, I'm having issues with opening after effects as it keeps saying that the Sapphire plugin does not exist. I've tried basically everything, reinstalling, deleting sapphire folders, and even the "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/" thing, but for me it does not show a plugins folder. Are there any updated solutions to this?

I had imported a mobile phone 3d model and all was working well.  Then, after displaying correctly for a few seconds, it suddenly appeared like this.  For a while it was rendering correctly, then startedflickering.  I started playing around with keyframes and rotation, and now it suddenly won't render correctly at all.  Any idea what's causing this? 

I am trying to use Roto Brush tool on a composition. Usually, after selecting the Roto Brush Tool (Alt+w), all you need to do is double click the layer you want to use the Roto Brush. But somehow after I double-click the layer, the Roto Brush Panel does not appear.  How to make the Roto Brush panel appear if double-clicking it is not working? I don't know if this info is useful or not, but I use Windows 10 and I kept hearing 'bling' sound after double clicking the layer for Roto Brush. If this is a bug after i update After Effects, do I have to uninstall the update?

I’ve tracked different surfaces and I can’t apply Corner Pin (Support Motion Blur) without the image becoming pixelated or disappearing. It works fine with Corner Pin and everything works and looks as it should.I’ve successfully used Corner Pin (Support Motion Blur) with some layers but not others - I can't find the reason why this should be the case.  Can't see what I’m doing wrong to prevent all my tracks/pre-comps having Corner Pin (Support Motion Blur) applied.Windows machine, using Mocha AE and latest After Affects 2023.  Resolution of video clip and comp is 2704 x 1520, resolutions of my pre-comps are the smae - content within them are just .png's and .jpg's.Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

Adobe Photoshop has these very handy keyboard shortcuts like:- "X" to toggle between the Fill and Stroke options of a layer. - Shift X" invert the color options between Fill and Stroke- "/" to toggle between Stroke and no Stroke or Fill and No Fill But I can't find the same options in After Effects. Am I missing something? Or is it not possible to set keyboard shortcuts for commonly used actions like this in After Effects? If not, are there any third party options that can enable such shortcuts in AE? I already have the great (and free!) "FX Console" which is fantastic for commonly used actions like calling up any effect in a split second. I use it all the time. But I really wish there were keyboard shortcuts for things like toggling Fill/No Fill and Stroke/No Stroke options.   

I recently purchased the new Macbook Pro M1 Max and I have had nothing but issues with Adobe.  Please note: I try all the exact same things I will mention on my Macbook Pro 2018 (same version of Pro and AE and same clip used along with the same project) and it works 100% fine - just slower.  Mainly, when I "replace footage in AE" from Premiere, it opens up AE and the video doesn't show up and gives me an error of an unsupported file type with a censor color bar as the video.  So I grab the drone 4K footage and put it in manually.  Once it's in, I 3D track the layer, but it will ONLY give me the "tripod pan solve" option and I am not able to 3D track the land at all.  Again, the old computer works perfectly fine.  I've looked up a ton of Tracking tutorials (been 3D tracking for years now with no problems) along with uninstalling all adobe apps, and even factory reset the computer to start from scratch.  Yet both the censor bar video and tracking errors

Hello Hello, A few days ago I did the AE24 update.Since then, after working in AE for 15min. or so, a bug appears.When I select a layer, and than select the effect on the layer - the composition jumps into a precomp thats in the initial composition.Is there a solution for this issue?I have to restart everytime this happens, but after 15min. it starts having the bug again. A link to a video to show what happens.https://streamable.com/umyydy Thanks!

Another question ragarding .replace: I want to remove the line breaks before and after all "'*" characters in a layer source text:"Text 1*Text 2*Text 3"should turn into "Text 1*Text 2*Text 3". I've recently learned that .replace only affects the first instance, and needs to be complemented by a /g (as in "global"). However, I can't find out exactly how to make this work. This is my best attempt:text.sourceText.replace(/\r*\r/g, "*")  but it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong here?

Hi, I am trying to stretch text in an after effects file. I converted my text layer to a shape layer and added a path keyframe. However the bounding box for each letter does not show up. I can manipulate the whole word but not the individual letters. Does someone know how to fix this?

Hi, I'm seeing this "Mercury Software Only" option enabled, every single time I open After Effects. I'm constantly switching in every session. Is there any way to make it default to CUDA?   

I want to ask, why when I finished rendering with the h.264 file format, the result was stuck like an image and there was no animation running and only sound. However, if I use the quicktime file format, the video can run smoothly. Is there a solution so that you can still use h.264 again, because the results of the h.264 file format can save storage. I've downgraded AE but still no results. Thank you

I´ve recently updated to After Effects 2023. I wanted to animate a 2 node camera like I used to - by creating a null object and parenting the camera to the null object. Since the update I can´t connect the camera to the null object anymore - is there a new way to do it in AE 2023? I couldn´t find any tutorials that cover this topic. Thank you!   

Hi, So, I'm brand new to After Effects and animating in general. I have this project for my Motion class where we need to animate a title sequence. I chose the 1960's Ocean's Eleven, where the dots form numbers and then turn into the numbers and become more intricate patterns. Thankfully, I only need to really do the first minute or so. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. But I have a 3D scene with a world map and an aircraft following a path (red line) along that map. After applying auto-orient along path to my aircraft, the plane faces the wrong way. So I set the Z rotation manually to 51º to make sure it's pointing in the direction of travel. But the problem is that after applying auto-orient,  the aircraft develops this unwanted jerking motion now and again as it turns. See pics of my project below and attached animation. Hello Dear After community  I'm very familiar with Premiere pro and I've used a lot of text presets in Premiere (like Mogrt files). But I can't seem to find similar text presets for After effects. Do you use some text presets on after ? I don't mean templates ... but just pre-made effects Can we use Mogrt in After ?  Thanking you in advance 

I'm running into trouble where, my MP3 files are not lighting up, so they're greyed out and not adding to my timeline or the little menu that holds all the files! The only up-side is that I have to physically import all the time via "opening the file" from my documents (on the computer, not the shared libraries). 

Hi,I'm new to working in AE VR comp using the VR camera rig. When I do, I tend to get an image that is segmented in 5 segments (presumably the 5 cameras in the rig). Are there any work arounds to avoid this issue?Thanks MacPro 2019MacStudio 2023AE 2024

I teach a High School Animation course and I gave an assignment to use the new 3D features in AE, but when the students drag a GLB file into the project they get an error that AE cannot import the file. I work on the exact same PC specs as the students and the import has worked as expected from day one of public release and the issue cannot be replicated. System info:    Application: After Effects v24.1.0.78    OS: Windows v10.0.19045, RAM: 15.94 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 16

Hello all, I have a design project that I need help on. So my footage is an Enscape rendering of a 3-D modeled environment of a drive to a destination from point A to B that I created in SketchUp. I added high-contrasting textures to specific walls within the model itself that I want to track and overlay TouchDesigner effects onto. I have tried tracking the camera, Mocha AE, and Mocha Pro to no avail. For some reason, I cannot get either the native tracker or the Mocha tracker to register the walls as they come in and as they leave the frame.  I have attached the footage I am trying to use, as well as the TouchDesigner effects I want to overlay.  Links to tutorials, advice, or any point in the right direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!Clip Touch Designer Effect 

Hello everyone!I am just beginning with After Effects, so this may be a trivial question, but I can't find a solution online.I have a video where, in some moments, there are some regions covered with a solid green (like in a chroma key). What I want to do is to apply the Content Aware Fill on the entire video, when and where this green appears. I know how to use Keylight to apply a mask in that color and tried to play a little with this, but with no success, this specific scenario of using the Content Aware Fill is still very nebulous to me.Does anyone have a solution for that?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a project. I'm trying to make this animation and use the least amount of keyframes possible. The reason why I just don't do it the same way as the example above is because I'm gonna have to do it for multiple compositions and the text position will always vary. Also, there will be a text 3, 4 and 5 each on a different direction. So I'm assuming expressions would be less time consuming. Like this one:The expression used was just linking one layer's position and adding a +X value, so I'm guessing something similar maybe. Thanks for any help.
