After Effects

I noticed something: when I use a track matte on a layer and keep the mask I used, pixels remain around the effect where it connects with the mask. To remove these pixels, I have to use a choker, but only if the composition of these elements is separate. If it’s in a complex composition, then there’s nothing I can do. After effecs version 24.6 renders darker videos when linearize working color space is on when using 32 bit per channel in color project settings.The solution was to go back to the 24.5 version of After Effects. Older versions never gave me this problem before. 

I have two projects set up as ACES 1.2 in both After Effects 23.6.9 and After Effects 24.6.1. When I import the  same ProRes Apple Log clip into each, I am able to override media color space in 23.6.9, but not 24.6.1. I would like to be able to override media color space in AE 24, but can't figure out why this isn't possible. I have noticed that AE 24 recognizes the media color space as Apple Log/Rec. 2020, but AE 23 doesn't recognize it. Perhaps that's related? I'm using a Mac Studio M2 Ultra, running Sonoma 14.6.1. I've attached a video showing both scenarios. Any advice on how to potentially work around this until it is resolved would be appreciated. Thanks!  

I am unable to adjust highlights properly in After Effects 24.6.1. with a ProRes Raw video file. I am working with a 2019 Mac Pro 3.3Ghz 12 core machine with 96GB Ram on OS 14.5 Sonoma. Note the attached screen captures.  Quicktime player shows all the detail in the highlights, though the look is flat.  In Premiere Pro the video looks hot, but I am able to recover highlights and make the shot look good.  In After Effects, I am unable to bring back the detail in the hightlights.   The reason I am using After Effects is to do some stabilization using motion tracking.  After stabilizing the shot in After Effects, I tried correcting the image, but given how bad the video looks, I can't use it. There are two images attached.  In the layout of the two images, Premiere Pro is in the top left, Quicktime player top right, file properties bottom left, and After Effects bottom right.  One screen capture shows the video corrected in Premiere P

i tried Setting up the app for the first time and when the app tried to login through google it just keeps looping. i looked for help and it said check if the credentials are there and they arnt and then there was no more information?there are no credentials. so now what? i know the problem are they just going to not fix the problem?

Hi, I have applied a Shatter effect to some text, when I scrub alone the timeline my 1st Mac crashes. When I render the project in Media Encoder it freezes just before the effect and does not finish. I opened on a second Mac and the same thing happened. On crashing and opening again it asks if I want to disable the shatter effect. If I open the project on my PC, I can scrub along the timeline and also render, with no issues. I have listed the computer specs below: 1st MAC  / Mac Studio (2022) / Apple M1 Ultra / 128gb running Monterey v12.6.1 2nd MAC / IMac Pro (2017) 2.3gh 18-core intel Xeon W / 64gb / Radeon Pro Vega 56 8gb / Monterey 12.5.1 PC / AMD 5950x / 3080ti graphics / 64gb / windows 11 Any help to resolve the MAC issues would be great, as that is my work computer in my office. Hello. Im trying to turn on the 3D mode for some layers in the composition and After Effects crashes every time I do that. Ive tried:- to do it simultaneously for all the layers - crash- do one by one - crash- create a new project (thought maybe a project issue) - crash- clean cache and memory - crashLaptop characteristics: 16GB RAM, RTX3060ti, 476GB SSD. I think it is enough for such a simple animation.

Hello. Today I received one of the oddest error messages I have ever seen. I received a message that 3 plugins failed to load. 1) Eporter AVI 2) Exporter Quicktime Host 3) Player Media Core Are these preinstalled plugins? I have never heard of these. I've recently had issues with infected work files and am curious if this has anything to do with infected files. So. If these plugins are legit. The question is. Why am I getting this error all of a sudden?See attachment. Thanks!

I'm experiencing an issue with Adobe After Effects (version 24.5.0) where my null objects and solids randomly disappear when I close or save my project. I've also noticed that this sometimes happens after I pre-compose layers, even if those layers are unrelated to the null objects/solids. The issue doesn't occur every time I perform these actions. For instance, I might pre-compose or save to test if the bug appears, and everything will seem fine, but a couple of hours later into the project, when I pre-compose again, my null objects disappear. Sometimes I don’t notice the issue immediately, making it impossible to undo, which makes this problem even more frustrating. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Since updating to 24.6 on Windows 11, keyframes applied to a Slider Control within a composition using Essential Graphics doesn't reliably update the composition (via expressions that are present within). I have downgraded back to 24.5, and it functions as expected. Composition breakdown:I have a cursor composition with multiple cursor types. These toggle their opacity based upon a Slider Control's value. Iterate through the slider, get different cursors.This slider is added to Essential Graphics, so I can control it in the main composition.When previewing/rendering in 24.6, the cursor doesn't change from the first value, even when on top of a keyframe specficying a different cursor.If you clear the disk cache and memory, the cursor correctly updates, but doesn't switch back when keyframed to something else.Opening the same project in 24.5, the cursor updates on each keyframe change and renders as expected.If any more information or projects files are requried, happy to expand fur

 Everytime I click on the "effects and presets" panel i just get this rainbow circle of death!!! usually when i click on this panel a small window pops up loading my effects and presets so im not sure why this is happening. please help! i'm using after effects 2022 btw. 

Estaba trabajando en AE cuando salió una pantalla azul en windows y decia que debia aparse el computador y se apago. Volví a encenderlo y abrir el archivo en el que estaba trabajando y me sale ese error: After Effects missing data in file 33::4 Encontre varias soluciones en foros de años pasados, como importar el archivo en vez de abrirlo o cambiar el nombre o abrirlo con versiones anteriores de after, pero ninguna me funciono. No sé si es un error de actualización del programa o que sucedio. Ayuda 😞

Hello.  My tracker is not working. It gets stuck on initiliazing, then eventually the attached screen shot shows up. PLEASE HELP. I need my camera tracker to work.  Obviously I have uninstalled and reinstalled, downloaded older versions, reset my computer, everything. Can somebody please help me? 

Hace dos actualizaciones (24.4.1) Al querer exportar un video con Media Encoder empezó a tardar en añadirse el proyectoa la cola, luego no me dejaba abrir la configuración de exportación porque nunca se llegaba a activar el Dynamic link, sin embargo sí podía exportar. Ahora con la vrsión 24.6 dejó de funcionar incluso el panel de previsualizaciones (de la composición y de las capas en sí), no puedo ver nada y sin embargo me pone que se tarda en renderizar cuando antes fluía sin problema. No sé que está pasando pero no puedo hcaere nada si no lo veo.

Tenho uma máquina dedicada a edição de vídeo, que deveria rodar sem muito problemas o Premiere e o After Effects, porém recentemente meu After tem acusado várias vezes memória insuficiente para o programa, o que não faz muito sentido pois a alguns dias usava ele tranquilamente. We have discovered a problem in 24.6 (latest AFX build) where some EXR sequences have the incorrect gamma applied to it. The only work around is to reimport the same file again and the gamma is imported correctly.So far we have isolated the issue to 24.6 - when running the same project in 2023 and then 24.5, the files are brought in correctly. This is affected Windows and Mac systems - it is very much affecting After Effects as a whole.

I use Ae 24.5.0 (Build 52) on Windows 11 and have noticed a while that if i for example place 10 comps in the Render Queue and select "Output To" for the first item it gets the correct name, iow the name of the Composition. This is expected.   But, for some reason the rest are named "_mov.mov", "_mov_1.mov", "_mov_2.mov", etc, etc. You can see it on the screen dump and you can also see the name of the Comps. If i hit Enter to start the render the files are indeed named "_mov.mov", "_mov_1.mov", "_mov_2.mov", etc, etc and thats useless.   I have noticed that sometimes it happens, and sometimes all comps gets their correct names in one go without a glitch.   Is this a known issue?      

Hi, I really need help, I don't understand why I have this bug.When I try to preview my work, my loading bar immediately resets and the preview is jerky (due to the fact that my bar loads a little but resets just afterwards).I manage to load and keep the load if I interact with the after effect interface (for example if I keep pressing on the timeline size change).Please help!I also got the error saying that ‘After Effects error: Cached Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback’I've emptied my cash, my preview is at 1/4 it shouldn't bug.Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Hi folks! When I'm rendering a Clip in H.265 (HEVC), I cannot open another project. AE always shows the issue "The document "myproject" could not be opened. After Effects cannot open files in After Effects Project format."I have to restart AE 50 times a day, because I'm working on much small projects, daily.Thats so anoying! Can you help me?Tnaks & regards Timo

HeyI was trying to use Roto brush to remove background from 3 seconds part of whole video but when I tried to double click on my 3 seconds clip nothing happened and new layer where I can use roto brush wasn't crated like it was in tutorials on YouTube. Double clicking on whole video (3 min) worked indeed. I know I can trim exact part from this whole raw video, but it will take a lot of time every time just to find part you need. so do you have any suggestions how I can remove background just from this 3 seconds part? I attached video for better understanding thank you 

AE Comp can't connect with MESystem:MacBook Pro 16 M1 Max 32GB RAMMac OS Sonoma 14.5 (23F79) Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue... won't do anything and makes ME crashes. (Had to force quit)PR works totally fine with ME.Rendering at AE works totally fine. Adding Comp from ME with File > Add After Effects Composition... works.Tried uninstall and reinstalling both AE and ME did not fix the problem. Any help will be superrr helpful!!
