After Effects

New update of aftereffects crashes every time. is there any solution to remove new update? or would you make it wors? 

Bonjour, j'ai eu des lenteurs à l'ouverture de projets After Effects récents (je n'ai pas essayé sur de plus anciens projets) et j'ai eu un plantage à la fermeture (donc enregistrement du fichier projet).J'ai remarqué aussi qu'en voulant ouvrir le dernier projet dans la zone d'accueil à l'ouverture d'After, impossible, AE ne veut/peut pas ouvrir le projet. Par contre, si je passe par le menu ça passe mais ça reste long. (c'est vraiment un petit projet). Je pensais avoir peut être un problème avec l'explorer Windows ? Est-ce que je suis le seul à avoir ce problème ? Que puis-je faire pour résoudre le soucis ? Je vous remercie d'avance pour votre aide ! Bonne journée

Hi folks,I am running AE 2023 (23.0.0) on an M1 Macstudio Ultra, so native Silicon AE build. Since the last update (or thereabouts) of the 2022 version I noticed some weird text(panel) issues. First I wasn't able to select/highlight my entire textline, it would always skip the last letter, now with moving on to 2023 that seems fixed. However another issue popped up: Whenever I try to, let's say, sample a color from a background to apply to a text, it just won't do it. I notice the cursor glitch back and forth to the eyedropper icon and arrow. When I click in the UI, it will sample and apply that color, but not from anywhere on the canvas or composition area. I have called a few collegues, one has the same machine as me and he reported the same issue, another running Windows and the same ver. of AE has no problems.Is this a Silicon bug? Or might there be something else?

Very often, especially when my computer comes out of sleep mode, my preview window will no longer respond. Either what's in the preview frame will freeze while I move things around, or it'll just go grey. Sometimes when I reboot it works for a little while, then it's messed up again, seemingly at completely random moments and even in brand new workfiles. Over the past few months since I installed Windows 11 I've come back to this issue countless times. Read all the potential fixes I came across. And none of it sticks. What's incredibly frustrating is how far back this known issue goes and how it still isn't fixed ... And it's happening more frequently to the point that it's seriously impacting my work performance as a freelancer, and I'm having to refuse work because I'd just end up damaging my reputation by not being able to deliver. I've done all the things most people have recommended ... I've updated to the latest versions, tried previous versions, uninstalled, reinstalle

Bonjour.Avec le pc du travail je n'arrive pas créer un calque c4d, lorsque je créé un nouveau doc en choisissant rendu 3d par c4d, cette erreur est affichée  Et lorsque je créé un calque c4d, on me demande un emplacement pour enregistrer que je spécifie puis j'ai ce msg : Je n'ai jamais de problème comme ça auparavant.Auriez-vous une idée d'ou ça peut venir ?Cordialement.  

This has been an issue in the last 5-6 verions of AE CC. The Effects & Presets panel doesn't load. You can force it to load by clicking around the panel in a bunch of random locations, but definitely very buggy.

I rarely go out of my way to post negative things about software, it's just not something I like to do and I hate to be the complaining guy... but the latest version of AE has caused me more headaches and frustration in one week than it ever has in the 15 years I've been in the industry. Almost everything involving rendering files causes my PC to lock up momentarily (30 seconds to 1 minute), and then both monitors go black, then everything comes back but no preview is available in AE until I restart it. Occasionally, it also tells me "Adobe was blocked from accessing my GPU over the network", which makes no sense to me and seems like something they shouldn't be doing anyway. If I restart my computer, it works for a while but eventually the issues crop back up. When these issues first started, I didn't have time to roll all of my projects back to the previous version of AE... but the amount of time I'm losing at this point, I would've been better off doing so. Reasons AE Crash

The saturation control in Lumetri is not smooth when working in 32bit linear projects.  The default saturation value in lumetri is 100, changing this to 101 results in a noticable jump in the image.  By comparison, changing saturation with the Hue/Saturation effect results in a smooth change. Steps to reproduce:1) Set your composition to 32bit, linear2) Apply the lumetri effect to some footage3) change the saturation between 100 and 101.  There is a big visible jump.4) Turn linear compositing off5) The change from 100 to 101 is now smooth and invisible/ ** I have reported this bug before a few years ago. I thought it had been fixed but I am noticing the same problem again in AE 2023. Maybe it wasn't fixed, or maybe the same bug has come back? ** 

This has been discussed on the form before and another user labelled this behaviour as normal.  However I believe it is a bug. Basically: If you use the "replace footage" function, the alpha channel is reset to premultiplied. Steps to reproduce:1) Import footage.2) Interpret alpha channel to ignore3) Replace the footage file with a different one4) The alpha channel is now premultiplied. Interpreting an alpha channel to "ignore" is something that can only be done manually. If you've done it, you've done it for a reason.  If you are dealing with a large number of files, eg multipass 3D renders, and you want to update those files to a newer version, you don't want all of the settings to be reset. Using the "replace footage" function does seem to remember manual color settings, so having the alpha channel reset seems to be an oversight.

I recently updated to 23.1.0 and just thought that the awful performance was because my project was getting pretty heavy with a few hundred layers (which AE has always suffered from, because pre-comping everything is not the solution and we still don't have layer groups/folders..) But.. I've just cleared my cache, created a new project and already I can see there is an issue, I don't even have any layers in this new comp and the timeline indicator lags behind my mouse pointer when I move it. If I create a simple new layer (white solid) and set a couple of keyframes, when I drag one of the keyframes left or right it massively lags behind my pointer, and is very steppy. Moving a layers position along the timeline or adjusting its start/end position is also the same, in fact it's so delayed that things get 'stuck' to my pointer and behave as though I have not released left mouse button, and thus end up where I dont want them. I have cleared my cache, updated windows, t

Finding that in the 23.1 update, I am getting issues where when I move something, e.g. a path point or a layer on the timeline, and let go of the left mouse button, AE doesnt follow suit, and so when I move the mouse it drags the path point with it. It's making it very difficult to use the program.  This is on 2 seperate computers, both running Windows (one runs latest Windows 11 build, one runs latest Windows 10 build) and both with updated drivers for graphics cards (RTX 2080 and 2070), mouse drivers, etc. Mouse settings are normal. Rolled back to v23.0 and not having the issue. Be great if someone can isolate the problem and fix 🙂 Thanks

When i was mid way into editing my commision i noticed that on the 3d and 2d transitions of my edit has a video glitching like its playing and its flickering a freezed frame and when i tried clearing my cache it got worse.

When I open my project AE gives me the Resolve Fonts message "Warning: This project uses fonts that are not currently available on this computer. Font substitiution will occur until the originals become avaiable."I've already used this font previously with AE, same project. The font is validated with Font Book on Mac OS Ventura. The font was a purchased House Industries font so it's not a buggy font.  The font also loads fine in Adobe Illustrator 27.2. The trouble shooting I have done already:Installed a previous version of AE, no luck.Cleared AE cache and restarted MacBook Pro.Uninstalled and reinstalled the font. Any insight as to why Adobe Ater Effects would suddenly no longer recognize/load the font?

In the viewer window in after effects: I can't select shape layers that are straight lines. They can be diagonal, they can be square, but I cant select them in the viewer window if they are are a straight line. I've tried it on two other computers, and it's the same result. I've tried centering the anchor point. This makes it time consuming and difficult to animate certain scenes from illustrator. Example: http://i.imgur.com/wjE7ePm.gif

The "show all" button toggle for OCIO color settings in the output module isn't persistent after closing and opening a project -- nullifing any saved render templates. Can we make this button remember the most recent state in saved projects?Win 11 - All versions of 2023

The extendscript function  app.preferences.getPrefAsBool()  always returns false. RAM Preview becomes unresponsive to clicks, spacebar, Num0, ESC, etc. Playback continues on loop and the only way I've found to regain control is to minimize/maximize AE or close the application.Build 17.0.4 Build 59

After Effects 2022 v22.0.1 DOES NOT EXPORT TO MEDIA ENCODER on Windows. This problem was reported for Mac, but it was directly stated that others have the same problem on Windows. Exact same symptoms, exact same behaviour. You try to export a video from After Effects using the Media Encoder Queue, and nothing happens. Media Encoder opens and just sits there doing absolutely nothing.

In previous versions of after effects, the Generate: Fill effect always respected layer masks, including feathering and expansion applied to those masks.  In AE 23.2, the Fill effect ignores all masks.  It is not a solution to use the parameters of the effect where one can specify masks as settings, as these ignore the mask properties like feather and expansion which may be different for each mask.  I have an entire library of existing projects that are now broken because of this.  I commonly use a layer as, for example, a vignette and then adjust its color with the Fill effect which can be keyframed and expression linked and which does not require editing solid settings to change the color.  Now all of those comps appear with an unmasked, fully opaque layer.   Please fix this effect to restore the behavior it has always had in the past. AE 23.2.0 on Macbook Pro M2 Max Ventura 13.0

In the ACES Color Managed Workflow, the latest update (23.2.0) allows you to set the Output Transform for a display (e.g. ACES/Rec709) at the bottom of the screen in the Viewer Panel. Unfortunately, it is not possible to set the output transform for a display using the Video Preview function in After Effects, and the signal arrives incorrectly on the display.

To start, I'm on the latest version of AE.I was working on a project and everything was fine until I had to duplicate some comps. Those comps hadother comps inside as well. After Effects stop reading the track mattes in thos comps and stopped reading the layers as well. Turning on and off layers or purging the memory, the layers were still present on the page. At one point, AE stopped recognizing a 4k png I had. It went black and then became a small white square in the comp. Eventually AE crashed and I got an error message.To get around the problem, I had to import the file into a new project and slowly work through comps. In the new file, AE had disconnected my track mattes as well, so I have to go through mose of my comps and reattach the track mattes.This was an absolute nightmare.
