PrPro has colum in the media panel list which shows how many times the clip is used in the project. In Ae i can only see that option for one clip at a time that too by scrolling to the top and seeing the poperties thumbnail which shows used x times in project. Is there a feature to tell for the entire list which ones are used and which ones arent at a glance ?Thank You

I’ve just switched from AE2025 to AE2026 but I have a problem with Aces colors interpretation.I have a tiff sequence RGB+A (premultiplied alpha) with sRGB color space. The Project is set as follows in both AE25 and AE26 (AcesCCT): The footage’s colors are interpreted as follows:This is my workflow and I’ve never had problems with colors until I’ve worked with AE25.In AE2026, when using AcesCCT I see washed-out colors; with AcesCC, the colors are ok. This is the only difference between the settings:Same machine, same footage, same color settings, different version of AE = different colors. Any ideas?I’ve searched in AE Preferences but they look very similar and they seem to have same settings.
I'm running into a consistent crash in the latest version of After Effects whenever a composition requires the Advanced 3D renderer. The app immediately throws an error stating:"After Effects can't continue: Advanced 3D plug-in generated an unexpected exception."I am forced to switch back to Classic 3D, but I really need to use the Advanced 3D features. I've already installed Cinema 4D, but the issue persists. Here are my system and driver specs: GPU: NVIDIA T1200 Laptop GPU (4 GB VRAM) Driver Version: Release 595 (Conservative / Production-tested branch) Application: After Effects (Latest CC Version) I have tried many versions including 26&25
Hi allI use CC (AE 26.3.0) and previously, when i have rendered a file, then at a later time updated that composition, and re-rendered it, it use to ask me if i wanted to over-write (which I do) then over-wrote the original file, thus keeping the name right, and Prem Pro happy when looking for that graphic (normally a Mov file with a transparent background - ie lower thirds). For context I film and edit football matches, so will do graphics initially, then alter them with changes to times etc).Recently it has started to not over-write, but add in a ‘_1’ to the name, which means prem pro will need to be altered to find the new file, or me deleting the file, and renaming the new one. Both more work than I previously had to do.My render output is ‘[projectFolder]\graphics\[compName].[fileextension]’ (saved as a default called project folder). Each project (match) has its own dedicated folder, with its own AE file within that folder. So when i render a graphic it will automatically create
Hi, I have a 15 mintues long comp. I have to animate a character. but its soul touturing to copy paste all the marker manually. is there any way? or tricks I can follow?I want to copy paste the comp markers with the note after every 20 frames
Is there a way to repair this? Because every time I try to preview my footage the video shown is completely black. Is there an option to tick or something? This problem started after doing some 3D edits.
server problem
I am trying to install plugins in AE but they crash. The plugin company (red giant) says its because adobe apps are not registering in the MacOS system in the System Information app under applications. I keep running deep clean to erase all adobe things from my system and reinstall the apps. Still won’t register. What to do? AI is no help on this one.
Hi, I animate motion graphics in AE, based on imported Illustrator files. I’m trying to figure out why some of my comps are rendering with very low CPU usage while others peak to 90%. What is strange it looks like more complex comps are rendered super slow (5% CPU usage) while others that has much less layers and effects can use much more. But still even through those lite comps the CPU can jump from 5% to 90% for no reason - meaning nothing really changes in the comp exept some layer movements… how can it be?I render into PNG sequences inside AE.Sometimes I use BG Renderer MAX that forces AE to use as much CPU as possible, but this plugin often crashes or misses some PNG files so I’d rather use built in AE renderer. But it is inconceivable to me that 3rd party plugin can make use of the whole CPU, while native AE can’t :/
For many videos now I have had a black frame problem in After Effects. Random black frames appearing in the preview window and export. As well as random frames from a different part of the video, although that is less frequent. It seems like it would be a frame rate problem, but it still happens when frame rates are all matched. As I edit in Premiere and then export, which is then brought into After Effects. I also bring in separate videos in the an After Effects comp for B roll that will have the black frame problem, and the frame rate of those videos is not something I have control over. That is unless I exported a copy of the video from Premiere and changed the frame rate settings before export. This would be tedious to do, and there is no guarantee it would work. But if this problem does not happen in Premiere it seems like it is a problem that can be fixed in After Effects. Regardless it seems like something that should be possible to fix.Can Adobe fix this problem for future update
I sent a message in the chat and the respose I get was that I could get a older version if my question was posted here in the forum, can someone help me?
Buenas tardes, hace tiempo que utilizo after effects y no he tenido problemas hasta ahora. IN ENGLISH:HiI had this problem in After Effects. When i Import a video on proyect it's look like a green screen in random parts. But this screen appear not only in the previsualization. It appear when i export the proyect too!!I don't know what to do :c
Using AE 25.4.0 (Build 86)after pressing spacebar to play a comp, the play head will move about 5 frames then stops moving. Yet the clip still plays in the comp window. Pressing the spacebar again to stop the animation, the play head suddenly jumps to the point in the timeline where i pressed the spacebar to stop it. None of the properties in the effects control panel update in real time. In order to see the values of animated properties at any given frame, I have actually click into the properties panel, then it updates. The only assets in this comp is a text layer with a few glow effects. I'm using Windows 11, Intel Core i9 (3.2GHz), 64 GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 5080
With GPU acceleration enabled ("Use Graphics Processor"), Photoshop's canvas displays images brighter than the actual pixel data. Confirmed by comparing the canvas to the layer thumbnail (which shows the correct, darker image) and to the same file opened in Preview.app and Camera Raw. Disabling GPU acceleration and restarting Photoshop fixes it — canvas then matches thumbnail/Preview.Steps to reproduce:Open a JPEG or ARW file (GPU acceleration on, default) Compare canvas to layer thumbnail — canvas is visibly brighter Photoshop > Settings > Performance > uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > restart Reopen file — canvas now matches thumbnailExpected: canvas matches actual pixel data. Actual: GPU rendering over-brightens display only (underlying data is correct).Likely related to a broader shared GPU rendering issue — other users report the same artifact in Premiere Pro and After Effects. Lately, more and more clients are asking for that raw Gen Z visual language, Y2K brutalism, heavy grain, chaotic collage work, chromatic aberration, and stacked layer styles. Visually, it looks sick. Technical-wise? It’s turning my After Effects timeline into a complete slideshow. When you're dealing with 50+ layers of textures, noise maps, and complex typography in Photoshop, what’s your go-to strategy before sending it to AE? Are you flattening/baking grunge textures into single assets, or keeping everything live and praying to the RAM cache gods?Would love to know how you guys balance keeping that unpolished, edgy look without completely destroying your render times or handoff structure.
I haven't found an answer to this anywhere. I am not sure if it is even possible. I need to know how to center the anchor point of a single shape within a shape layer. I am trying to rotate a couple of shapes within a single shape layer, but I cannot figure out how to get their anchor points centered. I know how to do it for the entire layer, but not for the contents within the layer.
Hello!I'm using After Effects CC 2017, but I was using CC 2015 when the problem first appeared (tried to download a previous and a newer version, the problem persisted on both). Here is what happened: .I opened the project. I see the message "Refresh Disabled (Release Caps Lock to refresh the view)" with the black screen, but Caps Lock is ALREADY released. I didn't even pressed it in the first time..When the video is rendered, the message doesn't appears..If I change anything, like just move one layer a little, the message comes back..Any key I press make the message disappears.I tried to reset my configurations, with no success.Trying to finish a project but it's impossible this way. Any of you guys could help me? I'm using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) Sierra, 2,9 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB.Thanks!
I have been working with After Effects for six years and haven’t seen this before. This project has six compositions. The timeline on five of them work as normal, all the collateral is listed on the left and there are horizontal bars for all them in the timeline. I can sweep through and view the composition. One of the compositions has all the collateral listed on the left side. The timeline is showing time but there are no horizontal bars showing when a piece of collateral appears/disappears. There are numbers listed down the side. You can sweep through the timeline and watch the preview but there are no bars or graphics in the timeline. How did this happen and how can I get it back to normal view?
How can I fix the frame flickering in adobe after effect 2026? Motion Blur is turned on

Need some help with installing an older version of after effects on my MacBook Pro. My Mac is a 2017 MacBook Pro running macOS Ventura 13.7.8. Creative Cloud only shows After Effects v26.3 as “System incompatible” and v25.6.6 giving the options of free trial or buy. Clicking “Free trial” on v25.6.6 doesn’t download anything—it just says “You already own After Effects.” There is no “Other versions” option anywhere in my Creative Cloud interface. I’ve looked at the tutorials for downloading older versions but my layout looks different and the three dots that is supposed to offer you older versions only says plug ins?? Can anyone please help me install a compatible version?
Hi guys, I’m running into a problem with my green screen. When I key it out with Keylight, a grey area is left behind, probably from a glass reflection behind the girl.I have no idea how to get rid of it. I also tried changing that grey area to green, but I still end up with visible edges because the hair is slightly out of focus. Any ideas?
The Echo Effect to create long streaks is normally the way you'd recreate the jump to lightspeed, but I think I've found a better, more controllable way. And also, the Hyperspace tunnel can be done entirely in AE with no plugins! When I was researching the VFX History of Slitscan, I realized that the "standard" After Effects tutorials for #StarWars hyperspace are often slow and hard to art-direct. In this tutorial, I throw out the old methods and use Shape Layer Repeaters to create perfectly controlled star streaks.I also dive into the NEW 3D Parametric Mesh tools in After Effects (v26) to recreate the iconic "blue tin foil" hyperspace tunnel using a free Adobe Substance material. In this video, you’ll learn:How to use a repeater on a shape layer. How to create a star field from a single line. Building a 3D Hyperspace tunnel using a Cylinder Mesh and Substance Materials. How to handle the "Flash to White" transition and deceleration.
