After Effects

For some reason, I cannot use the 3D camera tracker anymore. It worked fine on my last project. I’ve tried to track multiple clips to no avail. It doesn’t move past “Initializing.” After a while, I get an error that reads “timed out obtaining dynamiclink server” even if it’s a standalone project that isn’t connected to Premiere. I’m using AE v 26.2.1. Anyone know how to fix this?

God, I have no idea why i keep crashing, I didn’t have anything complicated, no script. Just come footages and simple composition.Anyone can help ?

I encountered a serious UI bug in After Effects affecting the Timeline panel switches.After using the new Angular tool / Bone Structure workflow (possibly related), certain layer switch controls in the Timeline panel became completely unresponsive. Specifically, the Switches area (including Shy, Solo, visibility and other switch icons) appears visually active, but clicking any switch only highlights the entire switches region with a selection outline instead of toggling the actual switch state.The controls behave as if the Timeline panel is frozen, while the rest of After Effects continues to function normally.What I already tried:Restarting After Effects Clearing cache Resetting workspace Renaming the composition Opening different projects/compositions Restarting the computer Testing other Timeline layoutsNothing resolved the issue.This may possibly be related to running DUIK/Angular rigging tools or to a GPU/UI rendering issue. Honestly, sometimes I think it is done on purpose. Why in gods name would this be the case after a minor update?I'm in full deadline mode now, my pc/mac updated and can't open my projectfile now!!!this is sick! 

Whenever I open aftereffects, it pops up with this message saying it couldn’t open GPUSniffer or something. AE has worked fine for about a year, and this is the first time its started happening, but it stops me from getting in or doing anything. GPU: AMD Ryzen RX 9060 XTCPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

it’s this warning, may be some castomization wrong?

I downloaded the "Hand-Drawn Titles" mogrt (AdobeStock_230451463) from Adobe Stock, and I can't open it in AE. In fact, it is grayed out in Finder when I do try to import it. I'm using the latest versions of all Adobe products AE and Premer Pro still not opeing any suggestions Thanks. 

For the past week, I have been having issues with After Effects opening up.  It gets stuck on the splash screen and then stops responding after it Initializes Audio Devices.  I’ve always had issues with this program, but usually one of the usual tricks would get it working.  Downgrading to an earlier version, using the clean up tool (that doesn’t actually clean up everything), running as administrator, running with windows 8 compatibility, updating to the new drivers, downgrading to past drivers. I manually deleted every trace of adobe from my computer, and only then did it work briefly a few days ago.  However, I have not been able to get it working since.  I repeated the same steps I took the first time, but nothing.  And now I’ve been troubleshooting for the past 5-6 hours because I have a project I need to work on.I’ve tried all of the versions that are currently available on the creative cloud.  The only one that I got working, briefly, was version 26.0.  I’m on Windows 10, have a

When I use face tracking in After Effects 2026, all the markers disappear after tracking! What's wrong? It works fine in After Effects 2024.All those marker is no showing or no response after the tracking finished 

  It can be really frustrating when After Effects starts misbehaving. One of the most efficient ways to fix this is to reset After Effects preference files. Trashing preferences resets the program to its factory defaults.   Resetting preferences will undo most of your customization such as length of your default transitions, brightness of the user interface, labels colors, changes that you've made to your audio hardware settings and more. Some changes won't be affected though, such as changes that you've made to memory allocation for After Effects and other Adobe apps, new workspaces that you've created and some other stuff. It's worth noting that changes that you've made to existing workspaces (changes such as resizing panels and moving them) will be reset to defaults.   Preferences that you set for scratch disks, however, are saved with your projects. After effects will not launch, last thing on splash screen is mediacore, not even as admin in safe mode with no 3rd party plugins and reset preferences.Posted here because it seemed to start when using After Effects, but no Adobe video apps will load. Recently, After Effects seems to want an demand more RAM from my PC whereas before I would be able to do the work I needed to do and even sometimes more advanced ones without a hitch but now even a small animation seems to not work. Before my CPU upgrade, I was even able to have a couple tabs on FireFox playing but now even with everything turned off it seems to struggle immensely and introduce a lot of lag spikesI recently upgrade my CPU from the Ryzen 3600 to a 5700X while keeping my 32gb RAM and RTX 3060 while also made the jump from Windows 10 to 11. I never had this kind of issue before and I was wondering why does After Effects wants more now compared to before when I clearly made an objectively good upgrade for the sake of performance

When importing a .psd file as a composition, I receive the message: "Encountered errors while importing selected items. 1) After effects error: Illegal XML character “” in string “[file path]”. Layers appear offline. I have an image and a video that I positioned on the comp after scaling both down so they are positioned how I want them.  I now want to scale both items down so they are real small so I can keyframe them both scaling up together. I will use parenting to get them both to scale up together How do I scale both of them in proportion to a small size? Is there a way to group them both to do this? They are not yet keyframed Thanks  

Hi guys ! I have an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 32gb and my After Effects is still very slow when editing. I’ve tried every tips AI gave me but it sadly doesn’t change anything… I use Twixtor, Sapphire and BCC a lot, which would be a reason why it’s slow but i don’t know… Thank you so much for your help. 😁

Hello there :)I’ve been working on my desktop PC for about 4 years now and despite some issues with an SSD NVMe and a recent problem with a a damaged USB PCIe expansion card that caused my PC to lag as hell before I identified the problem and removed it, I am quite happy with it. I produce music and am a motion-graphics designer, so I use lots of softwares and plugins and the PC is quite robuts to handle it, even on tight schedules for my clients and big renders (over 4K with plugins such as Element 3D or Deep Glow, Shadow studio, Handy cam, etc.). I’ve been watching a lot of tests that point to the RTX 5070 as a great solution for 4K editing and was wondering if anyone had any experience with such an upgrade, especially 3060 8Gb to 5070 12Gb.I also read there were some issues with the 5070 and so far, most of the time, my philosophy has always been “as long as it works”, don’t update / upgrade.But if it can help me improve my workflow and gain some rendering time, I’d be curious to kn

Why is the Object matte SO MUCH BETTER in Premiere than it is in AE? I feel like it should be the opposite. Its a welcome change from Roto brush, but hopefully it bogs down AE less soon. I am an AE lifer, with an AE tattoo, so I’m not complaining, just curious why its worse in AE.

Hi,I'm working on some text for a video and when attempting to play back or render the video with the text layers, After Effects glitches out constantly, with random text layers flickering in and out of places they shouldn't be. I've tried restarting the program, but this only caused the issue to spread to other parts of the video. This is happening when playing back in After Effects, rendering in After Effects, and rendering in Adobe Media Encoder. It's a very frustrating problem, especially as I spent hours making sure the text was frame-accurate, only for After Effects to crap all over my work.Below is a video showcasing the problem, and also an image showing the project itself, to clarify that the text layers are not overlapping and that this is not a user fault.Google Drive VideoI hope someone can help.Thanks in advance.

I have a cup with a video of steam rising from it. I keyframe the cup so it scales up and then I parent the steam video to the cup so they both scale up.What happens if you have multiple properties keyframed on an image and you parent it to something else, does it copy all of the keyframed properties? So if the the cup was keyframed to scale, rotate, change position and opacity, does the steam do all of these things also? If so, is there a way to control what is copied when parenting or does it just copy all the properties?

When trying to "replace with After Effects composition" I get the error message above.  I have seen many others with the same issue and logged out and rebooted as suggested and it still doesn't work.  I am using version 17.0.1 of After Effects and 14.0 of Premiere Pro.  What do I need to do to get this functionality to work?  Seems it's going on for years...?

I'm creating a line animation using trim path feature. the image was created in illustrator. for example. in the animation the line is growing/extendiing from left to right. is it possible to reverse the direction to have the animation go from right to left?? w/o going into illustrator and redraw the line in different way?? no matter what i do with the starting/ending point setting it ALWAYS goes from left to right...any thoughts??my illustration is actually a lot more complicated than just one line. so to redraw the whole thing would not be efficient...
