Audition

For the most part I want to use multitrack editor, so it would be great to disable the ‘double click clip to enter waveform editor’ function. Reading around I believe this isn’t currently available as a preference?Secondly, is there a way to ‘protect’ source files from being overwritten? (Ie if I do end up modifying them in waveform editor it forces a ‘save as’) Thanks

Using version 25.2.0.123 of Adobe Audition, when trying to Extract Audio From CD I now get this crash error:Adobe Audition.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.Then it closes.So I can't extract from a CD anymore.I've been using this feature for many years with no problem but something seems to have gone amiss in the latest version.Kind regardsPhilphil.lentz@gmail.com

I was trying to mix some music but I noticed that some clips had their audio cut short before the instrument(s) were finished playing out. I ignored it at first, but when I listen to the music in full, the cuts are very noticeable. I found an edit of one of the same clips to almost sound like the instrument(s) did finish playing out. Anyone know how to achieve this or just in general how to make it sound like a note/instrument finishes playing out? I attached some audio clips for examples.

Hi all I have been ripping CDRs recently and normalizing them to -3db via Audition. On the whole I'm quite happy with the playback results. Once and a while a song comes along and only achieves the -3db level in a couple of places (maybe a hit of a cymbal) making the overall sound of that song sound quieter to the other songs on that particular CDR. Apart from going into 'Amplify' and adding 1 or maybe 2 dbs to that particular song to give it a boost, is there any other way to get around this? I've added an attachment to clarify my problem. Thanks in advance if somebody can assist me with this dilemma. 

Why is Zoom so painful?There is a "Zoom to Selection" keyboard shortcut, but it's not in a menu?

Since the new Version of Audition, theres a weird bug. If you Record an Audio file then try to delete everything and Mark everything, it doesn't show, that it has been deleted even though it was. I always have to delete like 90% and then the last 10% to be able to see the deletion. Its really confusing when recording, please Adobe try to fix this issue.  Normally if I record, then mark everything and then delete, the normal red line occurs and shows the empty track directly.

I have a double whammy situation.  One of our narrators has sibilance as well as makes a whistling sound occasionaly.  I have tried a few effects in Audition to remove these sounds but to no avail.  (Captured Noise Print, then Noise Reduction, Sound Remover, De-Esser, etc.).  Of course I could paint the "Esses" and  "Whistles" out - using the Spot Healing Brush Tool, but I have 7 files to edit and these whistles are omni-present.  Pease Help! I am attaching a sample audio clip where they are very easily visible in the Spectral Freq Display.  I would really apreciate it if someone could please send me step-by-step instructions (or a link to a video) on how to isolate and remove these sharp pitches from an entire file in just a few clicks. Many thanks!

Hello! I'm about to process a large number of files and I had a question about modifying the default options in File>Export to streamline the process. First, if I've opened another file and am using that to export the new one, the autogenerated filename for the new file is the original file's name with _01 appended. Is there a way to prevent the _01 from being automatically added?Secondly, the default export folder seems to be my Documents folder - how do I change this so that the default folder is always the original folder for the source file?Thanks for your help!

I have a cdlx file that I created some years ago (in 2021). When I click on it Audition opens and displays the normal configuration that I expect. So I loaded a blank CD into the drive and click the Burn Audio to CD button. Audition immediately generates an error message without saying what is wrong. I have burned 100s of CD in the past, so I picked a random cdlx file from a disc that I have burned in the past, and I have the same problem. I'll say it again ... I have burned a disc from the cdlx file in the past but it won't work today. Since I created all those cdlx files, I have built a new computer (in 2022), and the cdlx file of interest was created in August of 2021. Yes, it's old, but shouldn't it still work? Audition loads it and displays it correctly. Any help would be appreciated very much.

You can see in this video, there are two background [BG] audios. I do not want BG music but I want backgroud voice only. All these are in one track. Is it possible to delete BG music only? If so, if you can give proper name for this work, I can find out procedure form YouTube. Video also attached. 

Hi All,Hope someone can help? Every time I open Adobe Audition, it opens partly on-screen, partly off-screen. The header bar is hidden behind the Mac OS header bar so I can't grab that to move it back on screen. Its window size is deeper than the Mac's screen, so I can't grab the corner to try and minimise it and move it back on-screen that way. Due to the set-up of Audition, every time I try to grab the main 'black' space it just pulls a section out and again not possible to move the main window back on-screen.I'm not having this problem with any other Adobe package!? I think this is happening because I use 2 screens in the office but I always quite all applications and turn off my Mac before taking it out of the office.I've tried quitting and reopening the application but the same problem keeps occurring. I've tried restarting the Mac and turning it off and on again but keeps happening. I've looked into the display settings in preferences but no joy! I've tried disabling Mission Cont

I have been trying to download the enhanced audio but nothing happens when I press download. Is anyone else facing this issue? 

Does anyone know of a way to activate Read, Write, Touch, Latch functions with a keystroke / shortcut?  I'm using an iCON P1-M which doesn't activate the functions but can map keystrokes. TIA.  

I have been exporting short clips from Descript transcript to Adobe Audition, but when I open them in Audition THERE IS NO AUDIO.  Its bizarre, because the transcript plays as usual within Descript, but is silen t in Audition.  Is there some setting that I erroneously set that has caused this?  Help would be much appreciated, since this is for a podcast episode that is now way behind, and we count on donations, sponsors etc, and we're running out of money.   THANKS Rob

This community has been so helpful I thought I'd ask another question. When editing, when I hit the space bar to play a section, I hear a burp of static, and occasionally in the playback. It is not in the file, but I hear it. It's making editing incredibly frustrating. I'm at a complete loss.I'm using a new install of 25.2.0.123 build, a wireless keyboard, and record with an SM-7B through a Scarlett Solo. I record speech at 44100, 32 float in stereo. There have been no changes to my audio hardware.

My audition keeps crashing Some files which are fine and have been working when opened just simply cvrash the program My audition is a new install on a new machine and i used the old audition 2010 until recently when support stopped and never had an issue This new audition has been 'buggy' since i installed it and keeps failing me. what to do? I even had a technician remote in and in the end we couldnt find the cause. Do i reinstall and lose all of my settings or whatever? is there a way to back them up? and how do i fix this? clean reinstall? this machine is fast and strong - 64g ram / NVIDIA RTX4060 / 3.64 TB /64 bit system / SSD drives /i7 core/ 8.19TB storage and NAS system -so why? Is there anyway to assign a keyboard shortcut to Select Clips to End of Session? This would really take off so much time in editing of just going over to Edit > Select

The program is running very slowly on various simple tasks -- merging clips, importing a file, moving clips, cutting and pasting -- the beach call starts spinning and the tinyest task takes several minutes.  Have tried deleting backups, closing all other apps, watching Activity Monitor, shutdown and restart.  Problem persists, seems worse later in the day.  It's getting impossible to maintain a smooth workflow.  Thanks Rob Working on Audition 2025 Version 25.2.0.123Also tried Beta Build 25.2.0.117 (February 24 2025 05.59.34) My current machine stats: Mac Studio (2022)Apple M1 Max64 GB MemoryMac OS Sequoia. Hey everyone, I got this project due soon and I'm trying to add an mp3 drum track. Every time I try to add it to multitrack, it says that the file doesn't match the sample rate of the session. If I click yes to convert it to the right sample rate, the new file doesn't show any waves or audio or anything. PLEASE HELP I am just so confused. I'm pretty new to audition.

I come hoping for a solution! I am setting up Audition (again) and when I go to create keyboard shortcuts, I can see everything fine except, the size of the window is too large to apply. I can see "undo" and "clear" and that's it. I have tried everything I can think of but to no avail. The window won't resize. Changing the resolution does nothing. Please?
