Audition

I have a new imac 27" 3.3ghz 6 core 1TB ssd 32gb ram and adobe audition runs slow on my imac.I use the latest adobe audition version.When i record a song with audition, then there is a delay with the vu metering.When i select a part of a song, then there is also a little delay when i selecting a part of a song.Adobe audition runs much faster on my 3 years old windows pc then on my new imac.Is this normal? 

Please help -- Audition just crashed on me and I appear to have just lost 6 hours of work on a project due today. After it reloaded it took me back to a part of the session. I'm afraid to close the program for fear of losing everything still retrievable. Can anyone offer pointers?   [Mod note - moved to a thread of its own]

Hi!Thanks in advance for any advice/help.New install.Was pretty familiar with the VERY old version of AA.When in the Multitrack mode I dont see the input & output selectors for each track.Have I done something wrong? Is there something I can change to see these?ALSOJust above the tracks there are 4 squares - with Input/output, FX, Sends, EQbut when I press them nothing changes...  how do I enable these?THANSK!

Im editing an audio drama, hoping to balance dialogue, actuality, sound effects and music.  I'm adjusting levels in the waveform E.G making dialogue peak at -6db.Annoyingly, when i then place each file into the multitrack the levels reduce by about -3db on my level meter. I've had a look into multitrack preferences and the only thing i found was a setting that changes levels when you mix down the multitrack. I did change settings here just in case but unsurprisngly that didnt work.To make do, ive currently just been making the audio louder in the waveform but as ive started adding more sound effects and background noises etc and it would be great to know that my levels are accurate without constantly having to listen to it back, comparing between the waveform and multitrack to see if its changing.If anyone could help it would be greatlty appreciated.

Hi there, I've been creating personal mix discs of pop/rock/dance music for some time and have recently srtarted to use Adobe Audition to normalise the audio for each of my projects, so that the volume is consistent accross all the various songs which I compile within an album. I'm finding that the 'match loudness' function is working well. I tend to go with a track which is showing as the median LUFs (i.e. -11 LUFs) and then match all the volumes accross all other tracks to this level. I've been using the standard look ahead and release time settings (i.e. default of 12ms look ahead and 200ms release time) and in a lot of cases, it does it perfectly. However, I found that one track (which was at a really quiet level of -23 LUFs), once matched to -11 LUFs, it displayed some unusual playback whereby at one point of the track, the volume levels seemed to pulsate a bit, which was quite noticeable. Hi all I have been making music compilations in Audition CS6 recently and have been using 'Match Volume' to try and achieve consistent volume from song to song. In ITU-R BS.1770-2 Loudness I have LUFS set to -14.00, the Use Limiting box is ticked and Look-Ahead Time is set at 12.0ms and Release Time is set at 200.0ms. I have listened to all 20 songs on the compilation I ripped and the volume levels are reasonably consistent which I'm happy with but I have lost some top end. When I compare the ripped CDR to the 'original' source a certain amount of treble has disappeared particularly hi-hats and cymbals (I'm sure it's not my imagination). Would somebody be kind enough to let me know if this set-up is acceptable or/and recommend a better procedure to carry on with. Hey, I've never come across this problem in the 8 years I've used audtion! It won't let me edit more than one track at a time, when I try to upload a second track the warning comes to say it has reached it's limit and I need to update cache settings. I thought initially it was because the first track was 2+ hours long but even with shorter tracks (20 - 45 minutes) the same problem keeps happening I have mutliple times but it keeps giving the same warning, has anyone else come across this?  I'm not sure how to update/clear out old data any other way thanks

When I first got it audition and premier were working just fine and happily working with my sound card. Then suddenly it said my Nvidia graphics card was not compatible (I chose the laptop I have specifically based on Adobe saying my graphics card was recommended) so I updated the programs and magically the graphics card is totally fine again, but now the soundcard does not work and am getting an error as above. I have also tried 2 different external soundcards since (both which worked previously) and nothing works.   [Mod note: Moved from a ten year old thread into a thread of its own]

Is there a way to gradually increase the tempo in an MP3? I'd like my file to start at the regular speed but sound faster and faster toward the end. Thank you

Well, I've just upgraded to a new computer and windows 10, and I'm finding out that I may just be out of luck trying to get my Audition 3.01 onto my new computer. In doing a search, I saw a how-to video from a person using Audition 3.5. From what I saw, it looked quite different than 3.01. Is 3.5 a real version, and would I be able to open my .ses files on it?This would be a real bummer if I wasn't able to open all my old song files...are there any other work arounds??? Harry

For those who do not know - Adobe no longer has activation servers for AA3. Anyone know a workaround for not being able to activate AA3 anymore. I've had to do a new install. Disabling activation is quite an astonishing move by Adobe if this really is the case thanks, Greg

Hello,My audio sounds normal when I play it outside of Audition and in Audacity, but when I import any of my MP3s into Audition it sounds really muffled and distorted. I am brand new to Audition and sound editing, so I have no idea what is happening or how to fix the issue. I'm assuming it's a setting somewhere, but I don't know where to look. I can't fix anything if the audio doesn't sound correct in the first place. Any help is appreciated.Thanks!

Hello, I've been having some trouble with my new all-in-one PC and Adobe Audition. Using a Rodecaster Pro along with Rode's Pod Mic. My main issue, which has never occured until now, is when I record it is extremely loud, which I'm assuming is the gain is turned up too much. However, the levels are normal on the mixer and if I play it on the mixer it sounds right, good levels... so it must be either my computer or Audition itself. How can I fix this?

Hi, I have been usinh Adobe audition to record multitrack directly from the mixer. But recently, I am seeing distortion in wav files while recording. I record 16 channels for about 4 hours, and all channels have this, making my work go in vain. Does anyone know how to fix it.

My co-worker recently upgraded their Mac OSX version of Adobe Audition from CC 2017 10.0.2 to CC 2018 11.1.0. The install went fine and there were no issues until trying to open a flac file, and get this message:We thought it was a bad flac so we tried another, same result. Opened up CC 2017, and all the flacs loaded just fine. Aifs, wavs, and all other formats open no problem. Hi, I'm in the process of editing a podcast between myself and another editor. We've been making edits then uploading the session and all files to a cloud. In the latest session, it's saying that two audio files are missing, and when I go to link media to the original files, it's not in sync with the edit. I.e, the first clip on multi track is now playing the start of the original recording file, not the proper segment. I'm relatively new to Audition so would appreciate any help.

Hi I tried to close out one file and unexpectedly closed out everything. I closed the file and was wondering if there was anyway to recover the files that closed. Also when I do pull up one file the work i did for the last couple weeks doesn't show up please help. 

how can i fix that when i record my voice i can't use any tool except the time selection tool i want to edut it and record moreand i want to cut some parts of it and if i did this i can't put another sound in its place wut should i do

I wonder if anyone can tell what options there are (if any) for getting timecode in and out of Audition CC?It seems that Audition 2.0 and 3.0 used to have SMPTE capabilty but that's long gone.Does auditon CC read any data from control surfaces regarding timecode position?And what about Audition's internal timecode data.. is it stored anywhere that might be accessible by an external program?Seems a strange omission in such an advanced piece of software

I have all new hardware and softward - a Windows 10 laptop PC with Adobe Audition CC - all deployed this year. When recording - admittedly with multiple windows open on Google Chrome and in Word - my recordings occasionally skip. More accurately, and when I have the Adobe window open but not on display, the recording inexplicably pauses for a split second. When I go back to listen, the sentence "Mary had a little lamb" may sound like "Mary h/tle lamb." There is a brief instance of an audio spike at, what shall we call it, the stutter. This happens maybe 20 percent of the time I record, particularly in long form for my podcast recording. I typically use a sample rate of 44.1k (I have been unable to change the 48k default setting) in mono at a bit depth of 16. I also clean my PC regularly with CCleaner and Revo Uninstaller. Any ideas on how to cure this?

Hello, I've had this issue for a few projects now.About half the time whenever I modify an audio clip using the razor tool or pan it, a odd "bumpy" noise occurs over the original audio. It almost sounds like a distant helicoper.Is this simply me being me and doing it incorrectly or is this a bug I need to work around?Thanks.

In Multitrack, I hit play and it plays fine for about 15 seconds then it randomly mutes several tracks. The trakcs themselves are not muted in the session, and when they stop playing, are still not shown as muted. They just stop playing randomly at 15 seconds in.  It's a big session with alot of tracks. Any help is appreciated as I'm mixing a Christmas song. And need to finish mixing tonight. Thanks
