Audition

I am using Adobe Audition CC on my MAC.   I am editing podcasts.  I adjusted my settings effects for each track and saved my changes as new presets or updated my personal presets.   But when I reopen the individual project, only CUSTOM appears as the preset. My personal preset is listed on the drop down list. My effects are listed, but even the effects have lost my changes.  Again I save all my changes.  So what is happening and why won't my changes stay?

I have multitrack session. In one track for few seconds it become muted. I tried deleting this section and re-record , it is still muted. I cannot do anything with it.

Hi I have an Mp3 of an audio book and I want to add 1 second to every paragraph pause.  I want to do it globally - so select silence duraction parametres and then add 1 second to all of them at once.  Can I do this in audition and if so how?

I'm ingesting a tape recorded with DBX noise reduction, which is (reportedly) a 2:1 compression.  I'm trying to expand it in Audition with little success. Does anyone have any "cook book" settings to use to expand DBX in Audition, short of running the signal through a DBX box during capture? 

I wonder if anyone can tell me the best processor for batch file processing - things like applying effect plugins, mtch volume, analysing statistics, etc? Currently i have a 2.5 ghz dual core i5 (not sure what generation but it's in a Lenovo x220). I'd love to be able to process files a bit quicker and was wondering if a quad core 2.6 ghz i7 would be significantly faster, or am I better off finding a higher clock speed regardless of the number of cores? Thanks.

hello everyone,i have a question about exporting audio from audition. i am kind of new to this, so i hope i can explain proberly what i mean:)i have a file that consists of 2 tracks. on one track, one can hear people talking, on the second track one hears noise. both should be played at the same time but channel one only on left side of the speaker, the other channel only on the right side.  i want to use this file for an installation, where a visitor sits between the two speakers and hears both channels at the same time. any export that i am doing, i end up with a file that sends the output to both channels. what can i do about this? can anyone help me out? thank you so much in advance, tanja  

Hi all,I'm in the process of moving across from ProTools to Audition and would like to reorganise my WAVEs plugins.They are all currently in plug-in list under various lists - my question is... can I organise them under the standard lists... for example, can I put the Q8 EQs from WAVEs under the standard Filter and EQ plug in list? Otherwise all my EQs, compressors, gates etc are under the WAVEs list which is a bit of a pain!Hope this makes sense, JimmyEDIT: Screenshot attached below

I always create a 10-minute highlights version of my 1-hour podcasts with guests. As you can see from my attached screenshot, I have created markers to speed up the sections I want to keep.  However, when I select All Clips in Track 1 to see the total duration so far, it doesn't actually give me the duration of the clips. In this particular example, it is telling me the duration from the start of the first clip to the end of the very last clip on the track. The content is only 2m 26secs in duration so far, but, the left panel is saying a duration of 35 minutes which is incorrect Currently I can only figure out the duration of the segments by clicking each one individually and adding up each clip duration using a Time Calculator on the internet! Am I missing a way to do this automatically?

Hi. Recently new Audition user so apologies as this is probably basic and I’m not going to use the correct technical language 😀 My current project:I am putting together a playlist of songs (not whole songs, rather a couple of minutes of each).  Ive then exported the whole mix as an MP3 and popped it into a premiere pro project, where I’ve added videos etc.  What I need advice on:I would like the peaks of each of the individual clips to be roughly the same volume. At the moment, in Audition, I’ve taken each clip individually and set the max peaks to -3db.  Would that work in theory? Should my exported MP3 mixdown be around the same volume throughout now?  Now it is in premiere pro, it seems to have imported in and automatically gone to 0db peaks. Should I then use premiere to set max peaks for the MP3 back down again before exporting the final mp4? 

I have some custom made Presets in 'Essential Sound' and want to export the file from my desktop iMac to my Macbook. I can not find any folders withion the Library or anywhere with the presets. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Thanks! Marius

I am an audio semiconductor developer who uses adobe audition in Korea.I'm currently using Audition2020(Version 13.0.2.35).When I check the Effects Rack(1-Channel Mixer, 2-DeNoise, 3-Amplify, 4-Parametric Equalizer, 5-Multiband Compressor, 6-Parametric Equalizer, 7-Parametric Equalizer) to the sound source file(wav file), the data is different for each audition version.Compare the three versions Audition2019, Audition2020(Version 13.0.1.35), and Audition2020(Version 13.0.2.35).I compared the wav files created for each audition version and compared the meta data in the generated wav files. (All applied the same Effect Rack) In conclusion, why are all meta data different for each audition version with the same Effect Rack? When I checked the audition version release notes on the homepage, I didn't see any changes related to effect used in the Effect Rack.Currently I used the latest version, but others don't have the latest audition version installed(Because Windows Updat

Hello, When recording a single mono audio track, it seems that I can't check the mic level in the booth unless I am actually recording. It does seem to work when laying down a multi track. After you arm record a seleted track in multi track mode, you can check the levels with out actually having to record anything. Is there a way to do this in single audio track mode. Would make life a lot easier. Many thanks from little ole NZ town.

While recording using Audition 2020 I needed to stop but found clicking the stop button had no effect and noticed it had been grayed out. How would this happen?Eventually brought about a stop by clicking on another file and normal service resumed. But happened again during my two hour session. Anyone else had this? If so what did you conclude?Alan-W

I use Adobe Creative Cloud to try to allow access to projects when I move from one machine to another. Lately, for whatever reason, it seems like when I work on a project on one machine and make multiple edits, I'll go on another machine, accessing the same file in the same Creative Cloud folder location, and when I open up the file, it acts as though nothing has been updated from the other machine.  Anyone else has had any issues like this? How can I fix this?

Hello everyone,  I bought a new iMac 2017 model with macOS Sierra 10.12.6 (with no optical drive / line in) recently. I installed my Adobe Audition CS6 Version 5.0 from a disc and been getting a message about the application being damaged and to re-install. Which I did but the message keeps popping up. Despite of the message the program works. However, since the iMac does not have a 'line in' I need to use an external sound card connected via USB for recordings. While everything is set as it should (Audition hardware / the sound card inputs / levels) I get a random  10-20mins long distortion. It comes and goes. Sometimes it is at the beginning of the recording, sometimes in the middle. In any case - my work is ruined. I don't think the issue is with the external sound card. I tried all the options, settings, re-installing the drivers etc.. Anyone else is having difficulties with with Audition on iMac models without dedicated 'line in' ?Thanks a l

Hello, I just purchased my Rodecaster PRO and enabled Multichannel for recording directly into Audition. I have three mics hooked up, and operating within the RODE interface, but there is only TWO channels showing up when I try to put all three on individual tracks. Would anyone be able to assist?

I usually have had no problems with editing an Audition project in real-time. Everything goes smooth, no freezing up, perfect. Then, last night I was editing an Audition project file and I was experiencing the Spinning Wheel of Death (multicolor pinwheel you see on a Mac machine) every three minutes. Then, it would take about 30 seconds for it to unfreeze. then repeats again after three minutes. This caused the editing process to take longer than usual. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Since I accepted an Adobe-pushed update to 13.0.3.60, Audition locks up immediately on trying to use the healing brush?Please reply with your experience: both no problems, and yes problems.If many of us are using healing brush on 13.0.3.60 without problems, then it's a subtler problem. But if it's locking up for everyone, then the work-around is simple: roll back to an earlier version.  I just tried rolling back to13.0.2.35.  At first this seemed good, but about 1-minute's use of healing brush, and I'm seeing the same result: 1.5 of my 16 cores is continuously pegged, and Audtion's cursor is an endless blue spinny circle.

eg. I have a music album, separated into individual files. I wan't to normalize the entire album.. in other words, normalize the loudest track at -0.1db, and amplify the rest of the tracks accordingly. (I do "not" want every track at -0.1db, I want to keep the original dynamic of the album. Is there any way to do this without having to join all the tracks together first?

I'm trying to record audio via a USB interface (Behringer UCA200) connected to my mixing desk (Behringer XENYX1204FX) via phono. If I record in QuickTime the audio is clean and crisp, but when I use Audition with the same setup I get a lot of line noise/interference. Sample of Audition recording: https://soundcloud.com/user-929572100/untitled-session-6-mixdown Setup is the same otherwise, any reason why this would be the case? Is audition just more sensitive?

I am recording a podcast using the RØDECaster Pro which is connected to Adobe Audition via USB. My headphones are connected to the RØDECaster Pro which sounds good throughout the record. But when I play it back on Audition at various parts (e.g. 1.20-4mins and 11-13mins) the audio has a crackle behind it and at times is very distorted. Does anyone know why this would happen? I can't understand why it sounds good, goes distorted and then sounds fine again.  I'm using ASIO, Buffer Size: 1024, Sample Rate: 48000Hz and recording in multichannel and have the latest version of Audition.  Any help would be greatly appreciated! 

Good day, We recorded podcasts over the weekend and they were working when we listened to them post the podcasts. We had them saved to our desktop and moved them over to our server. When we retrieved the files from our server the audio was not supported and the file showed zero audio sources (recordings). How can this be rectified? Please see the screenshot attached to show what the problem is.  Thank you.

Imported a wav file, did some trimming, all the exact same as years of doing this. Imported file is just fine. What is going on?? Thu sfar with the latest updates every piece of software has broken or corrupted something....what did you all do??? Should this hav ebeen a new version 14 if that drastic??
