I've encountered a fatal error in my program: it immediately crashes upon opening one particular session: It was functioning properly, but I went to add additional vocals and edits to it, and I drag copied one particular clip, and it initially gave me the fatal error and needs to shut down message; after reopening it, it pauses for a few seconds, and same thing - encountered a fatal error and needs to shut down; I have most, if not all of the tracks pre-rendered, and it seems as though it's causing some real bad latency issue, which is subsequently causing the error. I have the Auto Save every 10 mins box checked in the preferences, but can't locate a folder for it anywhere in the system (macOS Mavericks - Audition CS6), previous research enlightened me that the Auto Save feature got updated/expanded with version CC2015, but was hoping for some sort of file retrieval option for my particular version if anyone know of any... alternatively, is there a way to open a session with the pre-r

Starting last week, when in multitrack, right-clicking, insert->files command stopped inserting the files to the track. It opens the files but doesn't insert them into the multitrack session. I can use the right-click->insert->[name of already open file], that works fine. "Insert files" from Multirack menu doesn't worker either.Is there some setting somewhere I need to reset to get open and insert to work again?

Unfortunately there's a bug in this release which was only discovered just before launch date. The situation is that when you right-click in a blank part of a Track in Multitrack view and select Insert/Files, it doesn't work any more. If you select a file in the Import File window that opens, it now just gets added to the Files panel, and not directly onto the Track. In the previous release, it's added to the track, as it should be if you select it from there.Things you can do: You should have no difficulty in rolling back to the previous version using the CC app, if this is really bugging you.Alternatively, although not ideal, you can go about the process in a slightly different way: If you have a multitrack session open, you can locate the file you want to add completely outside Audition (i.e. not in the Files window but in its own folder on your machine). Hi Fist time on here Im hoping you can help Im running up to date Adobe Audition cc and its linked to a Behringer X32 through USB, 32 in/ 32 out. It records fine no issues at all, but I was trying to get the AA to Playback through a different sound card but I have just learned from here that that's not possible, so this is OK, but I have no idea how to Route AA so it will play back to the X32.So how the inputs work is - Channel 1-9 is just Drums. When I play back a multi track session, how to I route this back to my X32, so I can hear it on my monitors? and can the same setting be use when playing back a Single track session?Thanks for any help CheersGlen

When recording the overload indicators on the level meters don't function anymore how overload the incoming signal may be. I tried resetting Audition (CS6) and I even reinstalled the software but to no avail. It is just like if a hidden hard limiter is at work. Even with ridiculous high input levels the signal seems not to go over 0 db. Can anyone explain me that (and give me a tip how to resolve this?

When editing long passages of dialogue, I like to stretch the original audio to 66% and then continue on editing. I use ripple delete to get rid of unnecessary pauses and such. When I'm done and I have a handful of clips leftover, if I hit Cmd+A and try to stretch everything back to 100%, I get a bunch over overlapping clips. The reason this happens is that none of the clips' start positions move. Is there a way to stretch multiple consecutive clips such that the later clips adjust their start position relative to the earlier clip's stretched end positions?e.g. I have Clip A and stretch it to 66%. I used Ripple Delete in the middle of Clip A and now have Clips B and C with the beginning of C snapped to the end of B. How can I stretch both clips (back up to 100%) so that Clip B doesn't stretch into Clip C? I want Clip C's start location to move with Clip B's new end location once it's been stretched back up to 100%. Put another way, I want the snap between Clips B and C to move when I s

eg Session1: Interview recording - needs 2nd mic muting when not used (with appropriate fades), eq, compression, level adjustments etc.Session2: editorial cut of session1, music added etcIdeally it would also be possible to ‘relink’ the session 1 to an updated version.Why?:Mainly to enable 2 people to work concurrently in a fast turnaround situation but also there are times when the same interview may be used multiple times for different shows. Be very useful to have non-destructive & tweakable cleaned master interview.Bonus question:Are there other DAWs that have this? Hi!  I updated to 12.1.0.182 and all of my prefs are missing.  File>Import> application setting gives me error messages "could not be imported as application settings due to an unknown error.." How do i get them back?

I opened CS6 this evening to do a quick master of a track with one of my effects presets and... They're all gone. I've no idea what happened.I hid the folder in AppData/Roaming and it recreated the stock presets, but when I swapped it with my folder again, they were all still gone.Is there anything I can do? I have 40-50 mastering racks set up there for various configurations that I'd probably never be able to recreate again from scratch.

I shot some video of myself doing an exercise training outdoors and experimented with doing the audio going into my smartphone. The result was not good, but since the video will be challenging to redo I want to see what I can do to clean up the audio and hopefully make it usable.This audio was done with a Sony self-powered mic with a Sennheiser XLR-to-TRRS adapter I got from B&H to go into my Samsung S9 phone. The noise from traffic etc is really loud and my voice is muffled even though it was a lavalier mic.(I should have tested it before shooting and I did not -- I assumed the video would be challenging and that the audio would be okay. I did test it indoors and that came out fine, but I didn't test outdoors. In the future, I will experiment first and will ask B&H for more advice.)I'm not an audio pro or an Audition expert by any means. But I can follow basic instructions. I've tried applying Noise Reduction and that helped, but I'm at a loss to do much more than that.I'd gre

So essentially I am using Audition to preprocess stimuli for an experiment I am running. I cut longer audiofiles into separate files (one for each sentence). For each of these sentences I need to know the position of 4 specific words (i.e.the 'trigger word', the word before and after the trigger word, and the last word). The markers function was very helpful, in that I could quickly go through a 100 files at a time to determine the position, but now that I need to export that data, it seems that I can only export markers from one file at a time to a CSV.I'd like to know if it's possible to export the markers to CSV for a large number of files, such that one column contains the filename, and the other column contains the markers for that file. I've looked through a number of forums, but haven't been able to find anything useful.Any help is greatly appreciated!best,Jelle

Hi,Good work on getting punch and roll built in - very useful for me as a Voiceover artist.However a couple of issues...1) Audio is muted when initially doing the roll back. However if you do it again it works. Annoying as it's doubling my workflow since I'm having to do every P+R twice effectively. Here is a link to the video I made showing this. Excuse the F-Bomb when it initially works! P+R Issues - YouTube 2) No way to insert instead of overwriting? (I.e. cmd+D on OcenAudio) - should have option to insert audio without overwriting - especially useful if you need to punch in in the middle of a clip. If it's an option, I can't find it!ThanksMark

Dear All,I am French, so forgive me in advance for my writing I used audition 4 for a very long time and then switched to Mixbus 32C.I am testing the CC 2019 version of audition, the interface is nice to mix an album.But during the export of the session, the tracks are completely decalled, as desynchronized between them. When I disable VST plugins (mainly from IK) it works.Is this a recurring problem or am I doing something wrong?Thank you so much !

Hi. I'm using Audition to edit in sound effects for a video. But then I realized even tho the length of both video is the same, the Video Reference in Multitrack Session is not the same as the source video (included below). It's been messing with my whole mixdown as I cannot sync this to the original video. Why is that and how can I fix this? I am trying to learn the ins and outs of Adobe Audition using online tutorials but would really benefit from sitting down with someone for an hour or so.  I am trying to learn how to podcast.  Are there people out there who offer this service in the SF area?  Alternatively, are there in-person courses I could take that don't cost 1k?

I'm an Adobe Audition newbie and I'm suddenly having a problem where Audition no longer gives me a record option.Yesterday I was using Audition to record electric guitar via a Behringer UM2 hardware interface. The recording was successful, however I heard constant popping on the playback. This morning I started a new session in order to debug the popping, and now Audition won't let me record. I've been through the help files to no avail. Obviously I'm missing something, but what? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm doing this audiobook and wanting to insert silence in every dead spot where there's a breath. Am I a totally naïve noob in thinking there's a shortcut to auto-insert silence in these sports, or is my only route the poor-man's process of inserting silence on each and every one of these things?Thanks in advance.

Hello. Longtime Adobe user but I'm new to Audition. I'm using it to record a podcast into multitrack. I am going out from a mixer into my computer and recording directly in Audition. As I am recording the sound is great. Warm, volume is good, etc. But when I stop recording and hit play to see how it sounds, the volume is lower and it sounds nothing like it did in my headphones. When I increase the level of the track it gets overdriven. Am I missing a setting where the playback can just sound exactly like it did as I recorded?

Hi All,I'm trying to use the mix paste function while in Multitrack Mode, which has always been a simple enough procedure.Lately, after selecting and copying a piece of audio, the option for mix paste isn't available, as shown in the image below. I'm using Audition CC6 and Mac 10.10.5. I'm not seeing anything in the forums on in help documentation that mentions this specific issue. Thanks!
