Audition

I've just spent three days editing two separate radio stories, and when I attempted to export the second one, Audition made me restart. Even though I've been saving the timelines religiously every 10 minutes or so since I started, when I reopened them, one was blank, and the other had reverted to a version containing only a few raw clips. I'm freaking out! Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is this possibly an issue with the new version of Audition (which I updated to 7 days ago) or with my computer? I've just lost a ton of work and am afraid to repeat the process only to have it happen again while I'm on deadline.

I recorded the voice of an adult woman, and I would like to make her sound a little more like a child.I tried using Pitch Shifter with the following settings:Semitones 1Cents 15High PrecisionSplicing Frequency 10Overlapping 5%The pitch only changed a little, but the voice sounds distorted and unnatural. I have specific presets and workspaces for previous versions of Audition and have no idea where to put them now.Plus, Audition used to come with some default presets, e.g. for Noise Reduction, etc. I got nothing now. I did a clean install of El Capitan, then installed CC. Three days later, v2017 came out. So existing presets hadn't yet been installed on my hard drive.I did manage to scan for plug-ins—that seemed to work.I do have the presets and workspaces saved on an external drive...where do I put them now to make sure Audition sees them?Thanks in advance...I've asked this question before with regards to several CC applications. It was never answered, and some staff member moved it to the Premiere Pro forum, even though I specifically posted in the CC forum because it concerned several of the CC programs.This is just for Audition...please help!

Whenever I used Noise Reduction (with the default settings) in Adobe Audition I used to get super smooth results with hardly any noise left: http://i.imgur.com/L7TU3w3.jpg​However, since the latest update I'm getting hardly any results when using the same effect under the same settings.Before Noise Reduction: http://i.imgur.com/0oAmM4x.jpgDefault settings: http://i.imgur.com/u84Kh08.jpgAfter Noise Reduction: http://i.imgur.com/7ptlFOL.jpg​You can see that there is hardly any difference before and after the noise reduction. I have 5+ computers which have all been upgraded from cc2015 to cc17, we use the Noise reduction quite a bit as we have noisy studios. Noise reduction does not work from right clicking capture noise print, nor if you click capture noise print from the drop down. The only way it works (only on a handful of computers) is to capture in the dialog box and then applying.  This has happened to once I upgraded to CC2017. All computers are windows 7 some are windows 10. A few of the computers still has a older version 2015.2 still running and the Noise Reduction still works but not on 2017. Having trouble with audition taking up huge amounts of space on my system drive.  Files are being stored in "my documents" alongside project files despite me setting all cache preferences to the storage drive.  I only have 128 gb of SSD to play with for my system, and the 15gb of wav files is causing my system to lag.Read through all settings and searched high and low, no results yet.  Hope this is a simple fix I am overlooking, please let me know

For a recent project, I have two audio channels, one recorded directly from a mixer and one mic recording the audience. The audience mic picked up a lot of the audio from the speaker that the mixer was connected to, making it hard to make the audience audible without bringing up a terrible echo. I've used the sound removal tool before and found it extremely helpful, but it requires audio that is less than 100 seconds, and the track is an hour long. Is there any way I can use the track from the mixer as a reference to reduce the echo in the room? Thanks!

This is my first session mixing with Adobe Audition CC 2017. I have a dual core processor and 8 gigs of RAM. I'm mixing scenes for a play, I just finished with the first scene, (which is considerably less resource intensive as some other scenes).I applied most of my EQ and compression individually to the files in wave form and mixed them down. But I do have two voices with reverb on them, and several other effects. Some of the tracks are stereo but most are mono and I have two bus tracks.When I mixed down, I try both Save As, as well as Export mixdown session and either way they just produce staticy silence. I've tried mixing to both 44.1 and 48k and also to 24 bit and 32 bit, always with the same result.I'm very concerned because this is my first session and its not even all that complicated of an effect chain.Is there somewhere I can go to go learn how to mix down properly? I'm new to Audition and I spent a few hours looking at the tutorials. I don't see a suggested workflow. I'm a reporter for newspapers and magazines and I've been asked to turn the audio from some man-on-the street interviews into a 2-3 minute audio segment. I have about half a dozen audio files, each about 10 minutes, and I'd like to pull a few 10-30 second clips from those source audio.  In Premier, I got up and running fairly quickly using Adobe's online documentation and online videos. I'm a little surprised that I can't seem to figure out a smart way to organize all of this information. Any suggested resources?

Im having a terrible time trying to understand how to move the location of my media cache folders. I just installed Audition and havent attempted a move yet in fear of messing something up. Can someone help or point me to some help?

Anyone try to open an OMF in Audition, only to get a window pop up that says "Reading Windows Media Foundation" and that it's going to take over 100 hours?Is it the OMF causing this?  I've never seen this before, have no idea what it is.

I just got a 2016 MacBook Pro running Sierra 10.12.3. CS6 Audition is giving me trouble in multitrack mode when I try to drag sounds around the timeline. I try to drag to certain positions and it just won't go. It's like snapping, but snapping is turned off (and it's not snapping to any logical place). I can usually make the edit I want by zooming in a whole lot, but it's time consuming and I make hundreds of these edits a day. Anybody had this kind of trouble?

If you are an experienced Adobe Audition (or just audio) expert, please, hunker down, grab a coffee and come with me. I'm just going to basically vomit a bunch of random information and then be like, "Oh my, what do I do now?" I'm part of a company of players who are in process of completing a sock puppet play video. It's very adult, I assure you, there are deaths and romance and drugs. During the course of production, since we do not work out of a big studio, we work out of someone's home, we have suffered two major production events. Setbacks, or rather, challenges, if you will. We know that in an ideal world, all audio should be recorded in the same studio environment, on the same computer, using the same settings, and that importing/exporting and moving around can alter the texture of sound in infinite ways. Hello,I use Audition for sound design and audio editing. I really love Audition spectral editor, and the audio repair built-in effects are 'ok'.I wonder if the IZotope RX Plugin suite is worth it (current price is 50$)? How is it different from Audition's own repair effects? Is it too basic? I usually repair audio recordings myself (with frequency, amplitude and spectral changes) without any special tools, but it takes a LOT of time.Thanks

In ProTools, one has a stereo clip on a stereo track.  One can create two mono tracks, and drag that stereo clip onto the new tracks, creating two mono clips, one clip per track.Is it possible to do this in Audition?

Hi.I am currently working on a multitrack project and recently while playing through the timeline a couple tracks automatically turn on the mute button at different times in the timeline. When I turn off the mute button, to start playing audio again, it turns itself back on later down the track. However it seems to remember where I have unmuted the track, so now when I play it through the mute button keeps flicking between on and off.I'm assuming there is some kind of track option that let's you remember where you muted the track?How do I turn this off?Cheers.

I have been working for two hours to try to get this plug in to work. I  am operating on a 2017.0.2 version of Audition. I downloaded the plug in from Valhalla. I read the 'Adding third-party plug-ins' and followed the directions. I put it in the Library> Audio >plug-Ins >VST. But it doesn't show up anywhere in the Audition program at all. What am I missing?

I have several pieces of audio that I need all about the same volume throughout, but many of the files have both very loud and extremely quiet parts in them.How can I make the super quiet parts louder without having the sharp noise change when it gets to the naturally loud sections? without blowing out the loud parts?audio version of fading?I've tried just selecting the quiet parts and moving the "Adjust Amplitude" circle floating at the bottom, but that creates a cliff that sounds really choppy I have tried the "Match Volume" auto thing, but it isn't working throughout the entire sequence, leaving some areas still super quiet I'm completely youtube-taught on Audition (knowledge ultra basic)Audition CC 2014, Windows

Sorry if this is a basic question - but I'm recording a multitrack voice over against pictures with timecode, and I'd like the .WAV's that get produced to have the multitrack timecode when they are opened. Instead when they open each waveform starts at 00:00:00:00. Is there a way for it to pick up the multitrack timecode from the point of recording?I'm currently setting an in and out point and then arming the track and recording - but I'd like every take to pick up the timecode when opened in the future so that it's obvious where in the session it was recorded.Currently if I double click a wave on the multitrack timeline it does pick up the timecode - but only where it was at that moment in time - so its not actually embedded anywhere.Thanks in advanceMatt

Hi  Using Audition CC    Current version.I have a multi track project.  In track 1 is the left track I want to use in the exported version.In Track 2 is the right track I want to use in the exported version.I want to end up with a stereo with Track 1 in Left and Track 2 in Right.Attached is a screen capture of my current project.   When I try to export it -- I end up with a mixed track with Right and Left the same That's not what I want.  I want to keep them "separate".I've done this before but I can't remember how I did it.Thanks!Rowby

I ran up against a problem using Audition CS6 in a film post production environment, where I had to re-conform a soundtrack already built in Audition to changes in the picture where black video was added at the front of the video. This shifted the video by a fixed amount of time, so I needed to also shift the entire soundtrack by the same amount of time. In CS6 (at least), there is no way to do this, except by hand. I had already done this once before I had the rather extensive track automation, and wasn't willing to do that again. The easy part, of course, is Selecting All clips and moving them en masse which works great, but that does not shift any Track Automation or Markers. That was a problem.So, I wrote a PHP program to make the necessary changes to the session file for me automatically.You only need to provide a file name and an offset (in samples), and it changes all the necessary values in the session file and writes out a new file. Hello, I can't figure out what is going on. When I do a multitrack mixdown from Audition to Premiere for this one specific project, it is exporting a file or back to Premiere with no sound. I have done this many many times on other projects and it typically works fine. I have checked all the settings and it all looks fine. I've also tried multiple times.I tried on an old project and it works fine. If I don't do Dynamics Processing for side chaining it works as well. There is something with the Dynamics Processing and the side chaining with this specific project that is making it mad. In Audition, it all sounds good. The resulting export is the issue.Please help or point me where to look. Thanks!
