Audition

 Hardware settings are fine. The whole file is greyed out and  I can't hear it play. Have cleared time selection.

Can anyone help me out? I have been running Adobe Audition 3.0 for years, I had purchased it years ago (I started out from Cool Edit which was bought by Adobe and bought various upgrades up to Audition 3.0) and has been on my machine that has been upgraded from Windows 7-64bit through to Windows 10 21H2 and Audition 3.0 has been happily working. It's my go-to Stereo editor (so much better than Audacity). It has been running in Windows 10 22H2, but I did get a few crashes. However, since I installed the latest Windows 10 updates and fixes it has truly "fixed" Audition (it also seems to have broken Adobe Premiere CS3 as well). I uninstalled it in case some files were corrupted ran a cleaner, uninstalled it and tried to install it from my DVD. That was fun since I had forgot that the activation servers have been down for a long time and the uninstallation did not go easy. When I start a new audio file, the timeline lags and only goes by about .100 seconds at a time.  i've tried updating Audition, updating all my drivers, but nothing works. Computer: HP ENVY 16

I recently updated to the latest version of Adobe Audition (for mac), and have had all kinds of bizarre problems. It's taking forever to export a 2 second audio clip (with effects rack applied)... and I have 102 files to export today, ugh. Several times, it stalled completely and I had to force quit. Any idea what could be causing this issue? Anyone else experiencing this?

I have been working on a project for some time, using an external hard drive to manage space on my Mac. I stepped out and returned when there was a power outage. Upon reopening the application, I encountered the error message, "Warnings or errors were encountered when opening the following file." The detailed tab below indicated "file format not supported."Since then, I have attempted to open the backup files, but they all result in the same error.

Is there a way to locate a certain clip on a multitrack timeline by searching the name?In the files panel I can obviously search, but if I right-click the file it won't show where it is used in the multitrack.Sometimes someone will want to locate a music cue or effect on a complex project that needs the search function.Thanks for the info.

I am recording some vocals with Adobe Audition in multitrack, but each recording has these random annoying sounds like someone hot the mic with their fingernails. They occur randomly from recording to recording. I have no idea why is this happening, I am far away from the mic, and the volume level is always in the green, with no clipping. I tried recording with Garageband and there are no such sounds at all! Any help on what this could be? Thank you! 

Yesterday my waveform and spectral display were showing perfectly. Today as I record my audiobook, no waveform, no spectral display. Please help. 

I am having this issue in Audition where when I start a new waveform recording, it lags and doesnt record any audio. I will record for 10 seconds and when I stop recording, it is now only 1 second long and no audio has been recorded. I have researched for the past hour and found nobody who has had this issue. I know its not my computer because I can have multiple Adobe programs running at the same time with no lag. Its only in audition. I need to get this fixed ASAP and any help will be much appreciated! Hello Audition community, I recorded a spoken script, i then trimmed my audio track into many small tracks.But ideally, now i'd love each of these files to start 100ms before the soundwave. Is there a way to do it automatically via Adobe Audition? Thanks a lot for your help!

So I've been searching this issue extensively and it seems that the consensus is that marker numbers just aren't important. I do know how to change the default marker name, and how to set a starting number when I export.Here's what I'm running into. First WAV file contains 500 or so prompts, I set markers for each one, no problem. The marker numbers match the prompt.Open the second file. Starting with number 587. Marker number is 01. I have to manually rename it. Setting a new default name doesn't help, I get "587 01", rhwn "587 02". There there REALLY no way to say "start from this number please"? Having to manually rename the next 1000 markers isn't something I'd like to do.Someone suggested copying and pasting the new file into the old one, but that doesn't work. Since I've already closed and re-opened the file + app it still wants to start over at 01, so it will double up my filenames and I still have to rename each and every one of them.I could just ignore it, which seems like the

Got zero search results for this. I've posted before trying to figure out why something so simple is seemingly and incredibly frustratingly not possible. I've just finished pressing the "M" button 965 times. That's stupid. I shouldn't have to do that. Nobody should. It's ridiculous.I'm working on a project with over 2,000 clips that need to be marked and exported. It looked like I may have deleted a clip I needed. So I had to hit undo a few times. This removed a few of my markers. When I go to create the new marker, it doesn't pick up where I left off. Instead, it skips the previously used marker numbers. The markers that were removed by doing the undo are gone. There does not seem to be a way to get them back. The new ones are skipping the old ones. If I close and re-open the app it starts over at 01. Now... I know I can change the default marker name. Hey all!Apologies if this question has been answered a million times. I was just wondering how to get my multitrack audio levels to match my exported MP3 level? This is just for a podcast and every time the audio level is extremely low when it’s exported. I’ve tried the adjusting the panning mode from -3 to left/right. I’ve tried match loudness. I’ve tried boosting the levels as a waveform and exporting. Nothing seems to work. Im not the most tech savvy when it comes to this so if it’s possible, could you answer like im a 5 year old? Hi.  There needs to be a preferences setting to enable/disable popup HINTS (help tips).These are particularly annoying when I am trying to enter metadata in a field - and popup over what I'm trying to type.Even more mind-numbing is that these popups can't be disabled! (That ability is standard in almost every other app I use.) Help tips are nice to have IF you need them; but annoying when you don't. Please give me the OPTION to make them go away. Thanks!

As the title says I want/need to monitor my mic in real-time with effects (reverb, delay) for a multitrack recording. When I do this now with no effect added I'm getting a roughly 200ms+ delay but with reverb added it's like 4 SECONDS. Here's a brief overview of my setup: Core i9 10900k @ 5.2Ghz all cores32GB DDR4-3600 RamSamsung 970 Pro 512GB NVMeSamsung 970 Evo 1TB NVMe2x Samsung 850 SATA SSD (in RAID stripe)Motherboard audioCreative Labs SBLive 5.1 USB soundcardio|2 XLR<>USB (10+ years old but still works fine otherwise) I'm a saxophone player so I want to be able to monitor my XLR mic in real time with reverb, delay, chorus, etc. while I play with the backing tracks my bandmates provide. I did this years ago on a (now very old and weak) Macbook Pro with GarageBand and the exact same io|2 XLR<>USB interface I still have and it worked great. I got real-time effects with no noticable delay coming out of the headphone jack of the Macbook and it was perfect. I

 Hi all, I am a user of Audition since it was called Cool Edit and before Syntrillium... There is one thing that makes me crazy every time I am working at the Multitrack session: when I double click on a wave, the software drives me to the Waveform window. Ok, this is a normal feature. But. Now my track pad has some problems and sometimes it double click wrongly and forces me to go to the Waveform even if I don't want. This is very annoying and a 100% waste of time. I don't find a way to deactivate this feature. Any help? Thanks so much in advance!

Hi everyoneWhen I CTRL + Z on an effect i'm tweaking, it doesnt cancel my previous effect parameter tweaking but cancels the action of opening the effect !How am I supposed to CTRL + Z when tweaking effects ? This is really annoyingThankssss !

The Problem Child:  After 2 weeks of many tears, and an overwhelming feeling of regret. i have found the issue to my huge "adobe audition taking more than 30 minutes to copy/paste a 1 second clip!" issue. it wasnt that my computer didnt support avx2, it wasnt my processor, or my OS which was, and still is windows 11. it wasnt the 3 different pc's i tried and failed to use audition on..   My project started out fluid, working just fine until i got about 12 hours total, over the course of 2 days into editing audio, and things crashed to a halt!   oh...no. my finished narration is due on the 13th, thats 6 days from now, and audition stalls, and dies if i even so much as think about pasting audio! i quickly spiraled and felt my dreams of becoming an independent audible narrator wash down the sink with my lost hopes and dreams.   so i order another pc. yes, foolish of me, but in the end everything worked out for the better, and less stressful. my issue? MARKERS. no
