Hi! I'm on Windows, and I'm having trouble modifying any files that I record in a Multitrack session. I was unable to find anything online, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Here's what happens: I create a new Multitrack session and record audio on Track 1. From there, I go to Waveform to modify the "Track 1_001.wav" file that was created. However, I cannot edit it. For instance, the spot healing brush is greyed out, and all of the effects under the Effects tab are greyed out. (Toggling Spectral Frequency Display does not remedy the issue.) I also cannot save it. Under File, Save is greyed out. Lastly, I cannot close it. When trying to close the file (or Audition as a whole), I get the message, "One or more files are actively processing jobs. Please cancel these jobs or wait for them to finish." In order to get Audition to close, I need to restart my computer. It's very strange, and despite reinstalling Audition twice and resetting it to its default settin
Hi Folks, I've had an old version of Audition for years and I love it. I downloaded the newest version a couple of months ago, and I'm even happier with it. I have one thing I cannot figure out. Suddenly, my cursor marker, when in a blank space of a track, looks like a dumbell with a red line through it. How do I get rid of that and just have the regular cursor marker like before?
I need to know what I'm doing wrong. I last used audition with a PC years ago. I have a Behringer Xenyx802 Mixer connected to my iMac using a NT1 5th generation mic connected through XLR cable into the mixer and the mixer is a usb connection. I have been working for hours on this and the mic and instrumental record at the same time. I spent a lot of time and money ordering cables, new studio set up and was excited to get on Adobe Audition again but theres just no solution. It appears I'd be better off just plugging a $30 usb mic directly into my mac a doing it like that instead of a recording artist. I've tried all the outputs and inputs channel mapping. I've searched for the answer for hours it appears nobody else on planet earth has ever encountered this dilemma, or maybe Audition isnt the right software for reording music anymore. Does anyone know how to record on the mic through a mixer wearing headphones, you know like what a singer does using this software?
I have an audio clip that was recorded with a device in my pocket. There is a lot of "shuffle" noise over the conversation. I can hear talking, but not well enough to make out the words. Can somebody explain the steps to remove just the shuffle noise and enhance the human voices?
I'm working on an .sesx file with two tracks (and two audio files) that both require a lot of close cuts. Audition has been crashing fairly frequently, so I've been saving almost every time I make a minor edit – something like twenty to thirty manual saves in the last twelve hours. Today, it crashed, and I chose to reopen the files in the dialogue box that came up. All of my work in the last few days is gone. Audition brought up a much, much older version of the .sesx file. This has happened before, so I searched for other versions of the .sesx – and none of them are even close to the most recent version of the file. I've lost days of work. Autosave is set to every three minutes, and although I wasn't relying on it anyway, none of my autosaves are up to date. But all my manual saves have been for nothing! I just spent an hour talking to an Adobe specialist who told me to search for backups and save to the Cloud (would that have actually fixed anything, or would I just ha
Logged in yesterday, Windows... the Audition softtware is not recognizing my Focusrite 2i2 for some reason when I try to record. All settings are correct, go though the restarts, etc. Nothing. Call Adobe, get an Audition tech who I give control of the computer. He fixes it, but in the process erases all of my presets, favorites, keyboard shortcuts, the works. I paid a vo guru guy hundreds of dollars for all of this. Is there any way to retrive any of it?
I got a new pc on which I want to install my old audition cs6 version. The new pc has the new windows version. When I try to install the setup file the installation programm gives an error (validation problem). Does anyone know a way to solve this problem or has a solution for it? Please let me know.
I been looking high n low lol not sure if adobe have the option to put the tempo for the beat in or the key for the best. Any suggestions
This is very strange. I was matching the loudness of the clips in a mutitrack project separately in the Match Loudness effects window, before the mix - when I noticed few issues:1. One clip's volume is definitely lower by about -2dB than the rest, and yet it is shown as having the same -16 dB loudness. It sounds lower, it shows lower in the meter - but not in the effect's window.2. Any changes to the volume of any clip I make with the "envelope bar" (whatever it's called ) which have an immediate effect in playback, are NOT picked up by the Match Loudness effect. Whether I push it up or down, the volume is read at the same level.3. Those manual volume changes on selected clips however ARE picked up in the mixdown and reflected in the mixed file. What is going on here?... is this a glitch?.....I also noticed that when at times I also process my audio on Auphonic after matching loudness in Audition, it corrects it by about 0.45 dB (every time).Which one does
In Adobe Soundbooth CS3 there was a very nifty tool called the "louder" button, and it would was very useful in quickly and efficiently amplifying and de-amplifying soundwaves. I know there is the amplification section under effects currently in Audition, but for some reason it doesnt seem to work quite as well as that louder feature did, atleast for what I use it for.
All my podcast recordings have always been in stereo and they always will, which is what I want. Unfortunately, Zoom has recently changed this without notice ( one of the many reasons I'm switching to another remote recording platform), and my two recent guest interviews were recorded in mono - which I only discovered when started editing in my Audition today. I believe that it is possible to convert a mono file to stereo in Audition, but the instructions I saw online talk about blocking and unblocking the "empty channel" - and the problem is that I don't have an empty channel in the audio waveform- there is just one channel. However the sound comes through both the Left and Right channel in my headphones. I need to have my podcast in stereo, as it includes some clips that are in stereo (and need to be in stereo) - like music, and my standard intro and outro I simply add to each episode project. So now I've got two guest interviews recorded in mono which I need to
Adobe Audition is excellent, but one annoyance makes my job much longer.I'm a voiceover artist who does a lot of eLearning recording and the clients like the files to be split by file name - sometimes meaning I've got hundreds of files in the 'files' area of Audition. Please add the functionality to use the cursor keys to move through this list of files, updating the waveform view when the file is highlighted. At present, I have to double-click each file and as you can imagine going through a list of 100+ audio files by double-clicking each one is bloody annoying and time-consuming. Why do I need to go through each one? Well I'm opening another thread for that. Please add this functionality to save my sanity. Using MacOS Ventura 13.4

Can someone instruct me on what I am doing wrong because I install my auto tune unlimited bundle to my PC but when I try to scan the files so I can use the plug-ins in Adobe audition for some reason it seems like it doesn't read or pick up on the plug-inS
I find myself in a situation where I have a collection of recordings made by various voice actors, and each of them used different microphones and studios. This has resulted in a variety of sound qualities and vocal tones that vary from one recording to another. The question I have is as follows: Are there techniques, programs, or plugins that allow me to standardize the sound of these recordings in a simple and automated way? The main reason behind this question is that I have a significant number of recordings to process, and individually adjusting each one would be a very laborious and time-consuming process. Therefore, I am looking for solutions that will enable me to achieve sonic consistency without the need for meticulous manual adjustments for each audio file. I appreciate any advice or recommendations you can offer to help me address this situation and make all these recordings sound uniform and of high quality. Thank you in advance!
Adobe Audition v23.5 crashes on startup. Rolling back to a previous version didn't help. Reinstalling didn't help either. Today Audition suddenly stops starting and leaves .crash files on the desktop
Hello, I am a beginer, I have a multitrack session. When I want to edit a track (by double clicking on it), it takes me to the waveform editor. I make my edits on it, when I go back to the multipsite editor my audio changes have not been made. On my track I have a "Attention" sign Can you help me please?
Hi there, I have the latest adobe audition version. I use windows 11. When I start a new audio file (Ctrl+Shift+N). I confirm my selection of 16 bits and 44100 and file name and I get this error (the file name will be the default "untitled") The odd thing is that I can still record, after I hit okay to this, but it's appearing everytime I make a new file so it's kind of annoying. I have never seen this error before. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. All the best Christian H Miles
Here is a single waveform of an entire project from Premiere Pro, consisting of multiple audio tracks: I've highlighted a couple of areas where the waveform has bias above the 0db line (it occurs in both left and right channels but I've just highlighted the left channel).I know there is a one-click solution to even out the waveform so that it looks more like the section between 3-10 minutes, but I don't remember what it is! Any pointers?TIA.
Howdy, I recently recorded a podcast with two people and two microphones. I tried my best to isolate them as much as possible but each microphone still picked up the other person a tiny bit. This leads to an echo when I mix the two tracks together. Is there anyway to extract the difference between the tracks or reconcile this episode in any way? I know people record with multiple microphones, so there has to be a way but I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff.Cheers

Anyone know how to remove that kind of click?Audio from old video tape like minidv...dont know what that click are, maybe from camera tape but declick, denoise, no one filter recognize and cut it, no noise profile...need only to remove manually?
I am using the most up-to-date version of Adobe Audition and the Rodecaster Pro II. I am using Window 11 and have ASIO installed. When I want to record in multitrack in Audition, with track 1 assigned to my main mic, track 2 assigned to anything else, lets say a second mic, and so on, anything from tracks 2, 3, etc. also records and registers on track 1. Track 1 only records/registers track 1 (a good thing). This was not an issue before. I have successfully recorded in multitrack on several occasions. I just spent an hour with Adobe Help and this could not be resolved. Any help would be appreciated!
After exporting a multitrack session into an mp3 file, in Windows 11, this error appears:"The destination may be full or no longer available."I tried this on several computers running Windows 11, and every time this error appears.
