Bridge

I'm experimenting with bridge as a potential tagging alternative to what we are already using. The big problem I'm facing is we cannot tag by changing the file name due to our need to edit with the clips while others on our team tag them. We currently tag in another software using what is essentially the description and keywords. If I could add the clip description to the panel where we could edit it just as if we were editing the clip title, that would pretty much solve the only big issue switching software would cause. I have absolutely zero idea of how to write scripts for this, so if anyone has one that would be a tremendous help!

When I installed the latest version of Bridge, I mistakenly denied access to media on my computer. Now Bridge is essentially useless, as it cannot see any files at all. How can I correct this and edit the permissions? I tried uninstalling Bridge, and when prompted, chose to discard preferences. On reinstalling, I still cannot see files in the viewer window, so it would seem that the permissions choices carried over.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hye community, I wrote custom XMP metadata to add on images and medias. It works like a charm on Bridge 2022 but a bug appears on UI n 2023 version(update the day of the demo to my partners... fate...). The views are ok on 'Information panel' (Files > Informations) but doens't works on 'Metadata panel', as shown on the image linked : Image of the bug on Bridge 2023  A read the documentation another time, line by line and I've tryed many ways to rewrite XML files that describes custom XMP schema and view but nothing works. This time, I think there's a bug.All the files could be found on the github repository in Nemateria extension folderThank you community for yours help.

Bridge is creating multiple copies of photos when I download from my camera.  I'm using a Z7 and running on Windows 10 - Bridge is up to date.  This just started a few days ago.  When I use the Photo Downloader it creates two copies of each photo from my camera - I then have to delete every other one before I start actually downloading.  Anyone have any ideas??  

In the View/Details I really only want to see the photo name, Date Created, Date Modified and my description and keywords.  How do I get rid of the size of the photo, the color profile, the focal length, etc. etc.  I've gone over my Metadata settings and have almost everything 'unchecked' but I still see too much info for me. Thank you for any help.

I have a new Dell XPS laptop with Windows 11. I want to be able to view video thumbnails in Bridge 14 (2024). All .mp4 videos are appearing. However, Bridge is only showing thumbnails for some .mov files. All of these .mov files are from the same iPhone 13, all shot using the same setting, yet some thumbnails appear and some show the video editor icon instead of a thumbnail. The thumbnails that appear and the ones that don't both have the same metadata, Quicktime Video. What's more, all the thumbnails appear in Lightroom and Windows Explorer. This only happens in Bridge. I have tried clearing cache, turning on (and off) User Software Rendering and any other online solutions I could find. Is there any way to fix this?

I am editing on Adobe Bridge and brigde quit automatically when i am Panoraming 3 Photos. I loss all my edits so any one please tell me how i can recover all my edits or xmp file

I've  been a bridge fan and user since it was introduced. In V15, one of my favorites and most used function and an important part of my workflow is the search box in the upper right hand corner. In V15, I cannot find the search function. Can someone help me?Thanks to those who know more than me,Joe

I'm not sure what changed, but the Loupe keeps disappearing when the pic finishes loading. It just started one day and I can't fix it. What happens: I will click on a pic in the left column, then click on the pic in the Preview pan. The loupe shows up and magnifies properly. It then disappears after the pic finishes loading. (After "(Loading 100%)" message disappears). I click on the pic again and it will then stay just fine.But then when I choose a different pic in the list, either by clicking on it or press the Down Arrow key, the loupe will disappear again. It used to always stay. Troubleshooting:-Reset Bridge preferences (Ctrl-Alt-Shift during startup)-Updated to the latest (v13.0.4.755)-Installed v14.0.0.102-Updated latest Nvidia drivers-Rebooted multiple times. I can't find any settings that would affect it within Bridge. Is this configured elsewhere or is there some sort of Performance or Cache preference that will help with this?

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE RESOLVED THIS QUERY BUT I CAN'T DELETE THE POST. I closed everything & re-opened it, & 'select all' re-appeared when I hover over the place where it used to be.I've just opened some Raw images for editing from Bridge into Camera Raw, but it seems to have migrated to version 17.3.1 & several settings essential to my workflow are missing from the main interface. In particular the 'Select all' option which was at the top right corner of the thumbnail panel. I searched around & found that it seems to be hidden in a tiny 'filmstrip' icon at the bottom of the screen. It's hard to select anything here as the list vanishes when you take your finger off the 'select' corner or the trackpad, but when I did manage to try & click on 'select all' it just went grey & became disabled, but the images were still not selected. It is now totally disabled and I can't use it at all. PLEASE can someone tell me how to stop this idiocy, and get this feature back where

Windows 11 / 32G Ram / Core i7I have just installed bridge after a C-drive dust/reinstall and I cannot get an icon to display on my desktop to save my neck. Can anyone help?Thanks to those who know more than me,Joe    

I can add notes to an image by right-clicking the thumbnail,  going to file info>Basic ,and writing in the Description box. After doing this, is there any other way to see, at a later time, what is written in the Description box other than right-clicking on the thumbnail again?

Hi,When browsing in Bridge, I'd like to only see RAW files, JPEG files, TIFF files and that's it. I don't want to have to set these filtering options each time I open a folder or after I relaunch Bridge. This is an obvious feature that I can find in many other viewers. I can't believe that Bridge is unable to make this filtering settings sticky.What did I miss ? Thanks in advance.

HI, my problem is that i I can`t eject SD / CF Cards in Bridge or even with the finder. The Problem starts with Bridge 9. I use since that photo mecanic for my news jobs, but i hate it. When i quit Bridge (10.1.1166) , i can eject the CD / CF card, but this is BS. Is there a solution ?   Best regards Frank

Bridge 2025 Mac Sequoia on Mac Studo. Opens then crashes. Message just says "Error." If I open with Cmd-Option-Shift and reset preferences and caches, then it works. But I have to do it every time I open Bridge.  Tried it on both Sonoma and Sequoia. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. When I reinstall and it asks if I want to use old Preferences, I click No.

Trying to find the way to make "Sort by Date Created" the default when opening a folder of images from the desktop. Googled and found an AI Overview with instructions that say: 1. Go to Settings (Mac); 2. Select the Application Preferences: Choose "Application" from the list of preferences on the left panel. > and there is no "Application" from the list of preferences on the left panel!Typical.Can someone please tell me how to set preferences on the sort list? Below are screenshots.

I'm trying to transfer photos from my SD card to Bridge and I am unable to open the both Bridge 2023 and Bridge 2024. There are no updates available, and I can't even open the app. When I try to open them, the dark gray background pops up and starts to load but immediately gives an error saying Bridge cannot be opened, and then I have to force quit. When I send an error report, it comes back with saying there are no workarounds right now. I'm photographing an event this weekend and need to be able to use Bridge by Monday

Hi there, Bridge (Mac version) which I normally use, suddelly stuck on a folder and its subfolders. Whenever you launch it, it returns on the same set of pictures. You can work on Settings but when you want to do anything else it gets stuck. I tried several times to delete the App and reinstall but it remains all the same. I cleared all caches and I'm really lost.The MAc is a mini M2 8Mb Ram. The folders extracted count some 1000+ elements. I hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance.

Bridge sometimes immediately goes to bottom of keyword panel after I click on a keyword in my list in that panel to add it to meta. It's a pain to have to keep scrolling up to find where i left off in my list.  Is there a fix?

3 problems with Bridge today: 1   A few, not many but few thumbnails not showing previews:   I opened in PS, still same .  2  Some have white label.  Bridge often mangles color labels over time and replaced with a generic white, fine, but wont go away even when I select label, no label. how get rid of the white label? 3.  no screenshot need but , most annoying:  Tifs for some reason wont take label, no problem jpegs, dngs, but tifs just wont take a label, worse, when click keypad to add label then jumps to top of the thumbnails. thanks! 

So, I've recently switched cameras, I've changed from Nikon D800 to Canon EOS R and now when I am about to transfer pictures from my card to my PC via Bridge, when I click ''Get photos from camera'' standard Photo Downloader window apeears, and then when I click Advanced Dialog to see whitch photo I want to download I dont see my pictures as you can see in the attachment. But when I open the same photos from Bridge directly on my SD card, all photos are fine, I see them perfectly. Does anyone knows what is the problem and how to fix it, because I ofter you this metod to transfer my photos. Thanks in advance. 🙂

Hi all,When I'm whittling images, Bridge has started doing this annoying thing of when I delete an image and then press the forward arrow to look at the next image it then jumps forward two images instead of just going to the next image. I have restarted the programme and the mac too and this has not solved it. I've reset bridge as well. Is this a bug since the last update?Using a 2020 iMac running Ventura 13.4.1I have added a video to show what I am referring too

Bridge und Bridge Beta sind installiert auf jeweils 2 Rechnern. Es lassen sich nicht mehr die"Werkzeuge" - "Bildprozessor" aufrufen weil angeblich Startskripte nicht aktiviert sind. Sie sind aber alle aktiviert und der Fehler passiert auf beiden Rechnern. Was ist zu tun?

As a professional photographer and long-time Adobe Bridge / Lightroom / Photoshop user, I have ALWAYS been confused by why there is frequently a one+ second difference between the same image file's "Date Created" and "Date File Created."-- I am *NOT* talking about "Date File Modified" --I have searched for the answer to my question online and have not found a satisfactory explanation.I want to Batch Rename my image files according to the exact HHMMSS I pressed the shutter button and thus the file was created, which should take care of the dreaded _ (1), _ (2), _ (3), etc file extensions 95% of the time.Is there an option to Batch Rename according to the mysteriously more accurate "Date FILE Created" instead of the mysteriously inaccurate "Date Created?"Thanks,Scott

Today I updated to MacOS Monterey knowing there would be problems, and here is the first problem: Bridge crashes instead of opening. I looked at some of the previous posts and gave Bridge permission in the System Preferences, but it still crashes when opening. Photoshop 2022 opens normally, however.What to do?
