Bug Reports

I have a character I created a few weeks ago and created some triggers for.Today I've been updating it a little, adding some more triggers, however, I've noticed that once the triggers are in a timeline, the new ones do not play unless you start the animation roughly 5 seconds away from the start of the trigger.On the other hand, the old triggers play perfectly fine when playing right from their start points.This seems quite odd, and is quite a drain on time when I just need to check a section of animation but have to repetedly go further back and watch unnecessary sections just for the trigger to work.I've tried removing all the triggers from the timeline and starting again, but regardless, the old triggers still play perfectly fine, while the new ones need that additional 'run up' in order to play them.I'm using the latest stable version (and I've also tested it on the new Beta version), on Windows 11.Happy to share the file with support if that helps.

I've been having issues today with Character Animator—I keep getting the pop-up, "Assertion Failure, Do you want to Debug? AI Core Exception. Yes or NO?"  I don't know what this pop-up means, and whether I choose "yes" or "no," neither option seems to make a difference. If I say "no," it will let me continue to work in Character Animator, but then when I try to import into After Effects to export with an alpha it crashes After Effects. I also tried to import the Character Animator Scene into Media Encoder to export it with an alpha from there but the encode just hangs there and never begins. I thought it might be a corrupt Character Animator project so I started over fresh but as soon as I started to import artwork into a new project it gave me the same pop-up, "Assertion Failure, Do you want to Debug." I feel like I'm in the worst M.C. Escher lithograph ever made. I've restarted the computer, uninstalled Character Animator and After Effects, and nothing seems to help. &

It's been snappy and unusable for over a year now. One of your employees commented that he'll let the adobe team know about the bug on a post last year. It's still the same. Fix your product adobe.

Hi, I'm in the process of making my puppet in a smaller format to also use it for streaming outside of my personal projects but I have a rather strange problem. My puppet seems to have merged the different parts of its body and I can't find where the problem comes from, I'm used to seeing tutorials on YouTube but this time I haven't found the solution. Has anyone had this problem before? Secondly, Character Animator causes freezes when I stream in-game even though my PC is really new. On my old avatar, there was no this problem, has this already happened to anyone? I did my best with english since it's not my first language, I hope it's understandable ! ♡I used the version 24.0, i'm on Windows 11. 

 I recently bought a new computer for working with animation: AMD Ryzen 9, 32 GB of RAM. I installed the character animator and glitches began. After starting the program, the timeline does not play when you press the space bar, the program does not hear the sound of the laptop microphone, so the character's lips do not move. After I change the program settings back and forth, at some point it starts working. I change the sound settings. But I don't find a pattern. I don't understand why this error occurs and how to fix it. Help me fix it, surely someone has encountered such errors

My recorded audio in carachter animator sounds strange... like bugged and played in rallenty mode. I saw that it's all ok.. CPU ok. 

Hi there,I have an internal Problem with recording.Everything is fine with recording, also the character is like it should be.But when I do the record for the face then the character gets a weird look/face is broken.Or also when I do the face record at last, and then when I go to export, the face "fell in parts again".Thank you for help,I love this cool software so much!!!Take careSimona 🙂 

Hi thereReferring to my post yesterday, I have the problem when I move the character's head.It doesn't matter whether I activate the head/face on the right or whether I have saved a head movement via REPEAT and then move it. The head falls into pieces and is then broken.a photo is attachedWith a request for help.ThanksSimona

Under security/preferences - camera, Character Animator icon not showing up. Tried uninstall-reinstall and nothing changes. Using a Mac os Monterey.  I'm Stumped. Any thoughts around this? Thanks a bunch!

I am begging you to help me for this issue. The camera has no problem. It is functioning on other software and the camera testing as well. However, when I am using this for Adobe Character Animator, the camera keeps on waiting. I tried to uninstall and install the older versions and tried to calibrate but still doesn't work. I need this software for my everyday work. I am paying the monthly billing of Adobe Creative Cloud but your software doesn't work very well. 

  Opening file works fine, but switching to the Rig tab makes the pinwheel and forces me to quit app because it says system memory ran out. Record and Stream function as normal.  

I'm changing the saturation on photoshop and it is working fine however the adjustment is not coming through onto character animator.Any other adjustment I make comes through fine, if I remove a limb from my character for example. Any help?

I have lost the ability to drag anything into character animator (24.0). I can import and rig puppets, but it wont let me drag it into the scene. never had this problem before. I even downloaded an older version (23.6) and neither will let me drag puppets, mp3's, anything. Windows 10. 

Hello, i am working on a projekt in Character Animatior. Now i can't drag and drop the audio to my timeline. The Problem:1. I import the audio in Character Animatior (thats working)2. I want to drag the audio an drop it into the timeline. (thats not working) The cursor doesn't show me the symbol if i click on the audio and try to drag it in the timeline. Can someone help me please?

Greetings, I've been attempting to use my Camera with Character Animator but I get an error message "Windows error The remote Procedure Call failed and did not execute" and the message "Selected camera is unavailable" will be displayed in the Camera & Microphone panel. I've tried two different cameras (a USB camera and the built-in HP camera on my Laptop) and none work (toggling between both will result in the "Procedure Call failed" prompt). The camera works in other applications (Zoom, Teams, etc.) but not within Character Animator. I've also followed some of the steps in another post from 2020 and no luck. I am on Windows 10 and using the latest version of Character Animator.. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi... I recorded motion lines with the Ninja puppet, it shows in Character Animator when I play the recorded scene. But after exporting video , the motion lines are totally gone.Exporting as MP4 or MOV using Quick or Encore.  Or directly importing the Character Animator file directly into After Effects, none of the above shows the recorded motion lines. My computer is New, Pentium Gen 14 i9 PC, 64 gigs ram.  etc ..Please give me some suggestions to fix the problem. Really appreciate it, thank you! 🙂

it was working fine before now its no good.

My limb IK panel is showing a small dimly lit red dot compared to all the other dots.  Limb IK is only working on the left arm but not the right.  Can you suggest how I might fix this????? 

I am trying to use the edit original option on the blank puppet. When I click edit original in character animate it automatically opens up in photoshop but without the layers. Due to this I am unable to edit the puppet in photoshop. I am using the the latest version of both PS and CH.PS version: PS 25.4Character Animater version: 24.2

Hello Everyone! I've been using Character Animator since last year and I've been working with Illustrator Files imported to Character Animator. My issue is everytime I make a change to my Illustrator File like updating my character or adding a shape, I just get the "Error opening Illustrator File -54 Error in Ch version 24.2x80" popup in Character Animator and I don't see the changes I've made at all. I've never had these problems before and I've worked with both Photoshop and Illustrator with Character Animator with no problems everytime I make  changes to my psd or ai files. Would love to hear some solutions from you guys and thx in advance!

I am just exploring this program a little bit.  I must be missing something as it seems all of the mens are greyed out. I am unable to select a workspace. There are no layers showing up.  I have the full Adobe suite available to me and I am running the latest update. Is there something else I am missing?

Can´t record seperate layers for the puppet dora from the presets. It just records, when i do everything at once. I tried to record speech first, then eyes etc., but it doesn´t record the layers over the speech layer. I also can´t change the background in the scene. Any suggestions? BestJohnny
