Hi, I know this issue has been around and I've read and tried all the posts I could find on this.Yesterday my Substance was actually working for the entire afternoon after not working for a week, and today it's not working again. It freezes and shows white screen after launching.Here is my log in the attachment, I hope there is a solution to this.
I've updated to a brand new RTX 3060 recently, and after wrapping up my model and UVs I took to SP to do the texturing, but I've found that I'm having constant, seemingly-random crashes with no real way to repeat them. For example: Last night I worked on SP for about a total of 4 hours and suffered no crashes. But today I haven't been able to even rotate my object without it crashing, it'll either crash the moment I load the object, the moment I open SP, or really at any point during use from idling to painting a texture. I've attached the logs generated by SP, hope they help someone figure out what's going on. This is a fresh install of windows, as well, and I'm using the latest NVidia driver (Underclocked core memory by -75 mhz to see if that helps, it didn't.)If anyone can tell me how to fix this, I'd greatly appreciate it!
so the program keeps crashing on the file explorer even after uncheckinbg the chitubox preview, i dont know what else to do because the support team sent me here after tryinig to ask if there was a way arround this or a fix, so if any of you had the same error and fixed it please shed some light my way because at this point im desperate due to me needing this program to finish school proyects fast.ps: I even bought 2023 in hopes this was fixed but it appears it didnt matter.thank you !
Hi. I'm using 2023, the previous versions had an option where you just right clicked the normal map thumbnail and you could change the format of the map, now where this option lies please?!?
I'm trying to automate the colourspace setup at work and have run into a problem. We've tested this on version 7.4.1 and 8.2.0 on Windows 10. This seems to be related to this thread, though as it's a year old, perhaps the update has been released and may not be working 100% correctly. This happens on any preset, but just taking ACES 1.0.3 for example, if I load the preset, then the import/export settings are all set to the correct things: If I switch to custom and point to the same file inside the install folder (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Painter\resources\ocio\aces_1.0.3\config.ocio), then everything below gets set to the same value as scene_linear value, which in this case is ACES - ACEScg. In the case of 8.2.0, it does work when pointing to the C drive, but copying the folder to a network drive will break it again. Has anybody come across the issue of duplicate UI in the same workspace, one side is inverted and the other mirrored.I can't find a way to fix it or bypass - have tried uninstall/reinstall etc
My Substance painter cant read some texture, They appear pinkish, its the version 8.3.0 build 2094
May i ask if any one has this same issue that the substance painter 8.3.0. is no responding after the update installation? And how to fix it? Much thanks in advance!.

Hello, we have been reporting me that there was a potential issue with custom user channel and color management. After investigation, I found out that indeed, there is a small bug on them. issue 01Color thumbnails in the interface do not pick up the view-transform change as the BaseColor does.issue02(probably linked to issue01), the color picker window is displayed as it was a non-color-managed channel steps to reproduceOpen new project window and set any meshSet the color-management for the project to OpenColorIO and ACES 1.2 for configCreate the projectIn the created project, go to the Texture Set Settings tab and remove every channel except the BaseColorAdd a new channel > user channels > User0Set that new channel to RGB32F and enable Color ChannelAdd a new fill layerIn the 2 color slots of the 2 channels, enter the same value in the R-G-B slidersCompare the 2 channels in the viewport and you would see they look different.workaroundthose issues are non-blocking cause
Even with the recent baker update I noticed that the triangulation in substance painter still does not match with Unreals. Therefore even when baking with Compute tangent space per fragment: Enabled the resulting normal map will have issues in Unreal Engine.to demonstrate i baked a flat plane onto a wavy quad plane in designer and in painter.as you can see the painter bake has visible triangulation artefacts, while the designer bake is perfect. i didn't test this, but i believe the painter/marmoset triangulation matches with Unity, but there is no toggle on mesh import to change it.so such a toggle seems the only solution to be able to bake characters for Unreal Engine in substance painter without issues.the non-highlighted planes are with triangulation before baking and then importing the quad mesh in Unreal, as you can see it just leads to even more visible baking issues.
version 8.2.0, windows 10.I created a mask on a fill layer and painted on it by using a stencil. I redid the painting in the mask multiple times before I achieved the proper result, I had to update the stencil a few times too. The stencil was saved in the project, not permanently or for this session only. Now upon reopening the file, the mask is showing correctly. However upon making any changes to the file (new layer, turning a mask on and off, turning a layer on and off, a brushstroke ...) the stencil painted mask CHANGES. It changes back to an old attempt with the faulty stencil. This version of the painted mask was never saved out nor is the old stencil present in my project anymore and should therefore not be remembered by the file. I did not update the mesh or anything, only opening the file and making a single adjustment. I wish I could add some photo's here as it's so visible and easily recognized but due to NDA's I cannot.
Hi, How do you stop a file becoming read only? I don't know why but when I import FBX files substance painter suddenly is changing to read only files, and I cannot drag and drop any materials onto the meshes. I literally can't do anything now in the program. I've tried running as administrator, tried going back to the previous version (which worked without issue), tried opening different FBX files - nothing changes.
Hello everybody!Since the service of Substance3D.com was discontinued, I can no longer see any of my already purchased materials in the new Adobe Substance Store. It seems that everything has been reseted. I think that's pretty brazen, after all, I spent money on my materials. Side note: My Substance3D account and my Adobe account where registered on the same email address. Perhaps this could be the cause of the problem ? Has anyone else had this problem? how can I contact adobe directly? I have not found a mail address online.
LOG: [Project management] Failed to open project 'F:/Models/Imperial Knight/PILOT_HELMS.spp'I got a new SSD external drive and have been using it for about a week now, after moving all my substance related SPPs and work to it for convience between PCs.After working on a project the SPP would save and could be opened again, however after the drive was removed the project was no longer opening with the same error above. I tried with 2 more models and replicated the issue to get the same error. I can not open substance 3D. It was fine a few weeks back when I was working with it. I have made sure my GPU drivers are upto, windows is upto date. I swapped to studio drivers as well. I rolled back substance versions and also made sure old substance painter version where not installed. I have sent a error repot through the software, but I need to use this for work in a few days. Thanks
Substance Painter will use ALL my memory, didn't do this in the previous version and now I get virtual memory issues, and even will crash nvida drivers. nothing but windows and substance painter running. Windows used about 8.5 gb, as soon as you start Substance it goes up to 35gb, and the this is after it loaded the file. The file is 20gb but why does it need an additional 30gb when starting?
Hello.I'm having a problem because I can't even load the file now.Errors such as the above capture keep coming out.I don't know what to do. CLO3D has also been extracted in many formats, but none of them work.OBJ has also tried EXPORT in many settings.I've tried both 'thin' and 'thick' and checked if there are any overlapping UVs.I have also imported it in various settings from Substance Painter.I've done both openGL/directx, and I've done both check and uncheck 'USE UV Tile'. I don't know why the file can't be loaded. Please help me. Help me, please. I've been doing this for three days. I looked up all the tutorials, but I don't know why. The error message also says that you cannot just load the file and the reason is not written, so I can't even search.I'm going crazy. What did I do wrong? Please let me know if you know the reason.
Hello !It's impossible to paint anything by brush or by using a fill layer. Any color doesnt apply. New Update and noticed it just sticks/freezes on saving and I keep loosing that sessions work. I've had this issue for the pass while where blank spots would appear missing when panning around the viewport.What I know so far-Strictly viewport display issue (Doesn't affect the exported mesh or in IRAY)-Tends to happen after i create a fill layer-Possibly has something to due with baked layers (Thickness,Curvature etc) Only issue with it being the baked layers, the uv maps for it seem fine in the images below.What I've tried-Reinstalling substance-Updating shader-Reimporting mesh and re baking-Checking the normals and scale
It seems like you can`t eyedrop colorpick a color through a hotkey while painting if the colorpicker menu isnt open.This makes it very tedious while trying to do more painterly things inside of substance painter Currently whenever i switch to an eraser or smudge the colorpicker menu will close because its not dockable this means that when i switch back to a brush i suddenly can`t colorpick anymore using my hotkey. I think having both the ability to lock the colorpicker menu to stay visible and be able to colorpick outside of it being open would make life a whole lot easier painting inside the app.If the issue is that you don`t know what channel the colorpicker menu would be for then you could implement a dropdown for the channel inside of the colorpicker itself and make it dockable. By default most painting outside of masks will be done on the Albedo/Diffuse in my experience so having that set as the default sounds like it could work just like the viewport dropdowns work
