When I convert a Photoshop layer to a smart layer and then apply a Camera Raw filter, I am missing icons for Crop and Snapshots - why is that?
After updating Camera RAW CC, when I open the smart object to update camera raw filter, Photoshop freezes presenting the "Preparing Smart Object" dialog.Steps:From Adobe bridge, open RAW (cr2) file to edit in Camera RAWWithin Camera RAW, adjust settingsFrom Camera RAW, open in PhotoshopNow, photo is a smart object in PhotoshopDouble-click the smart object in Photoshop to return to Camera RAW filter to update settings.Camera RAW opens, but is Photoshop and Camera RAW are frozen, with the "Preparing Smart Object" dialogThis dialog appears to update, but here at 10-minutes later, has been sitting at 100%This process usually takes less than 2-seconds on my Macbook.MacBook Pro, 15-inch retina, 2.4 GHz Core i7, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB, OS X El Capitan (10.1.6)Photoshop 2017.1.1 (20170425.r.252 x64)Camera Raw 9.12.0.784
In Camera Raw, in the tools on the right side "basic" adjustment tool is missing. Also, when I click on the Edit icon, no panels open up. Any Suggestion?
Hello, I would like to let you know that currently the lens profile of the Sigma 14-24 dg dn in Lightroom leads to a visible overcorrection of vignetting, especially at 14 or 15mm.This happens when you just enable the automatic lens correction, with distortion and vignetting values set to standard values of 100.I have attached an image taken at 14mm, the automatic lens correction in Lightroom being enabled. One can clearly observe a white area including a thin white curve in the left and right corner of the image which is kind of disturbing.Currently I am able to adjust this by significantly reducing the vignetting value to approximately 30-50, but it is only a workaround and it also depends what value for the distortion is set.It would be very helpful if you could have a look at this and modify the lens correction profile of the Sigma 14-24 for Sony. Thanks.
Since installing v16 of Camera Raw it no longer automatically accesses my addition GPU, an Nvidia Quadro RTX4000. It defaults to the Intel UHD Graphics 630. Scrolling through large numbers of photos and using any of the tools is extremely slow compared to earlier versions. I cannot find any options that allow me to select the Nvidia GPU in the Camera Raw settings. Photoshop v25 still allows me to select the Nvidia GPU, so why won’t Camera RAW. As a fall back I was hoping to roll back to an earlier version of Camera Raw, but I see that is not an option either.
I just updated Adobe Camera Raw to version 16.0 but it doesn't work as I need to update my GPU. (actually I need a new computer!) In the meantime, how do I restore to the previous version?
I'm looking for a shortcut to select presets in order from top to bottomI want to ask if Camera Raw and Lightroom have any such shortcutsI have so many presets that I can't use the mouse to select themThank you very much, wish everyone a happy day
I've recently acquired a Nikon Z8, and right now I'm having some trouble with the annoyances that are embedded lens profiles. As I'm using third party lenses adapted from Nikon F to Z, the embedded profiles are always wrong, as they get set to some similar Nikkor lens. This of course results in wrong profiles being applied in Camera Raw too, of course, thus the need to select the profile manually, as the EXIF values are wrong. However, I've noticed a special behavior, probably a bug: using my TAMRON SP 35MM F1.4 DI USD lens and manually selecting the correct profile results in some circular, ring-like artifacts (see image). This seems to be limited to this particular lens, at least I haven't seen it on any others yet. While it is more pronounced in higher ISO settings, it does not seem to be a case of banding - raising the exposure slider does not yield this effect or any kind of banding. Also, I have never noticed this with my D850. Also, is there any way to completely turn of
Adobe states on the "Adobe Camera Raw graphics processor (CPU) and troubleshooting" web-page:" GPU requirement coming soon for photo editing". When can we expect this to happen? Could you please let us know what GPU properties are expected to be good for editing in the next few years? It would be good to know before I buy a new computer.
DO NOT JOIN WITH A PANEL RELATED THREAD (ex. this). Thx! It's a totally different thing. Version of the app: Camera Raw 16.0Platform and OS version: Windows 10 x64Basic steps to reproduce the problem:Open a RAW file in Camera Raw.Activate "Healing" mode (press "B" or click on the icon). (or any other mode except the Masking mode)Press Ctrl+1 (on Windows) to switch to the first tab in the edit mode. The edit mode is activated and Color Panel displayed. This is expected.Activate the Masking mode (press M or click on the icon)Press Ctrl+1 (on Windows) - nothing happens. Also nothing happens for Ctrl+2, Ctrl+3, etc. Expected result: after pressing Ctrl+1 (on Windows) the Edit mode is activated and Color Panel displayed. This was working as expected in previous versions of Camera Raw.
When opening up my raw file I'm no longer seeing my texture slider or my clarity slider????
Hi,Did you just remove luminance slider in new Camera Raw update? I was using that option quite often.Btw, for years every options were sorted between tabs, now I have to scroll down every time to find options/sliders I want. You just made my workflow 2x longer. When I open camera raw and had some panels expanded in last session my slider is all the way down, I have to scroll up everytime, what is going on??If only those panels had different shades of grey. Can't you just give us an option to go back to old look?Cheers,
Hi there,I'm currently testing the new lossy compression feature in Camera Raw 16, and I'm finding the file size reduction to be quite impressive! However, I've noticed some unusual artifacts when using super resolution on a lossy compressed file, which I'm not observing with a CR15 lossy compressed file. I'd like to know if this is a tradeoff of the file size reduction or if it's a bug. Thanks,Edu
Just updated to the new ACR and wanted to use the enchance feature. When I go to use it I get the following error: When I check the graphics card it says it supports metal and is 64gb quad core (2015 MacBook Pro i7 running Catalina 10.15.7)I have checked in both Bridge and PS preferences and I don't have the option to switch the GPU. Any ideas why this isn't working?
Can anyone else confirm this bug with version 16.0.0.1667 (seemed to start in version 16.0). The Vignette Effect now seems to just turn the image white rather than correctly blending properly. It really bad. 1. Load a dark image with or without vignetting. 2. Wihout making any other changes alter the Vignette setting under the Effects Panel3. Note how the effect now turns edges totally white instead of just brightening the color. This cand't be correct as it totally messes up the results. Looking to see if anyone else see this odd behaviour. I checked the forums but can't find any other mention of it. -Darv
The other day I realized that Camera Raw seemed to have reverted to an older format. I removed and reinstalled PS completely. But camera raw still seemed to be an old format. I then got on the community and discovered many others complaining!! What the heck, Adobe? Things like the dehaze slider are now in effect instead of lighting, and many other changes force us to totally change workflow patterns and have to stop and search when we are trying to be productiveVas efficiently as possible! Unacceptable! I'm getting sick and tired of programmers and designers just doing [cursing removed] changes just to try and justify their jobs! Some adults need to take charge and make Adobe great again. Being productive and efficient in our workflow helps us to better utilize our time as photographers and run a business. Adobe seems to purposely attempting to destroy this ability. Why? Enough ranting, just fed up!
/BUG?/ Adobe DNG converter does not transfer MakerNotes tags from Canon CR3 to DNG ( Canon R5 in my case )but it does for example transfer all that from Fuji RAF to DNG or for Sony ARW to DNGof course I can follow up with something like : exiftool -TagsFromFile source.cr3 -MakerNotes destination.dng -overwrite_originalBUT this is grossly inconvenient... AND MORE SO absence of makernotes tags deprives /some/ other raw converters from accessing, for example, focusing distance tags that are available in CR3 raw files ( no, please do not suggest those converters to use XMP tag like 'x:xmpmeta/rdf:RDF/rdf:Description/aux:ApproximateFocusDistance' for ACR/LR that Adobe DNG converter does write for CR3 conversion case, it is not what manufacturer readily provides and Adobe DNG converter does not consistenly writes that for other camera brands, not for Sony for example... can't blame not writing for Fuji because Fuji does not write that itself in R
1. Adobe Camera Raw 16.02. Windows 11, 22H2, Os build 22621.2428. Display scale setting 200% (display 255 pixels/in)3. Open image from Bridge. Fit in view i Camera Raw only uses about 50% of avilable window.4. Image should use almost 100 % of availabe height
Hi, I would like to use Dehaze but I can´t find it. I have version 5 and version 14.4. I have the Swedish version but that would´not be a problem I guess? I have tried photos that are new and newer been processed by any older version. There are no triangle that indicates that I should upgrade. Any ideas?
In the previous versions I could tune the lastest point in the blacks and in the white, it's now "fixed" in the corners. I cannot find the setting access to save only a curve. And more than this, when I apply a curve preset I've made before, it's working on the photo, but the actual curve in ACR is exactly the same, and I cannot tune my preset...The curve settings are gone? Is it a "strategic" reason ? Like, Adobe prefer us to work on curves in photoshop more than ACR ?I want to find a way to use an older version of ACR.
[Moderator moved this conversation to the ACR section.] Hi Adobe, Sometime between my last two jobs, the format of Camera Raw seems to have changed again. 'Light' and 'Color' are now in seperate tabs that can't be opened at the same time ? This has slowed my workflow by a fair degree. Is it possible to go back to the one tab or forget this version and revert to the previous ? Cheers, David.
When I open a file useing Camera Raw I get the following result: Anybody know a fix?
I've had a similar issue in April '23, with ACR showing oversaturated colors compared to PS/LR when HDR Output in Tech Previews was enabled. Disabling would help, but then of course HDR editing would no longer be possible. After a few Adobe updates, this issue went away by itself. I am mentioning this because I assume my current problem is related. Current problem:Having HDR display on, opening an image in ACR looks different (oversaturated) to PS IF: image has been changed to 32 bit before (necessary for HDR editing); this happens for RAW files as well as edited TIF files and even JPGs. However, it only happens on my external monitor, NOT on the internal laptop monitorAlready tried:Deactivate GPU in preferences/performance: no effectDeactivate GPU in file handling/ACR/performance: no effectDeactivate Native Canvas in preferences/tech previews: no effectDeactivate HDR Defaults in ACR Preferences: no effectDeactivate HDR on external monitor: PS and ACR match! For 0.5 seconds when op
Good morning, everyone,I'm a photojournalist and I edit all my images in Lightroom, these days I've been trying to use version 16.0 of Camera Raw, but in my taskbar the CROP option never appears and the "C" and "R" shortcuts don't work. I've seen several videos on YouTube and they all have the crop option in the toolbar. Can anyone help me?I think it's a question of customizing the icons to appear in the Camera Raw taskbar but I can't figure out how to do it.Thank you.João Aragão, PortugalTranslated with www.
Danke
