Sending TEB (text entry box) variable to LMS - Captivate

Problem: Need an user input field in Captivate (not classic) to report its content (variable) to the LMS. In the past, I was able to this in Captivate Classic using a variety of methods (simplest being a survey question). But, with the newest version of Captivate, I'm struggling. My goal is to "pulse" the learner on a topic. The users input will save in a variable or as a quiz response and kick back to the LMS in reporting either as a quiz question or user interaction data. I tried to use a short answer question field, but having issues with it requiring an "answer" so I'm trying the input field and set it to report to LMS. If I have it set up right, could be an issue on the LMS side (SuccessFactors Learning)? Here is the input field reporting turned on.  What are some best practices in Captivate to accomplish this goal? Am I missing something easy? Thanks for your help!

Adobe Captivate - Subscription

Hi everyone,I am new here. I just subscribe to free trial to exterminate before I make commitment and buy it. for some reason, I am not quite sure what went wrong. after downloading captivate and instilling the app it aske me to buy or free trial. I click on free trial it land me to another page which aske me to chose a plane of Photoshop which I did pick the monthly one. I instilled the Photoshop app and open it, but still every time I try to use the captivate it will open for me the window of buy or free trial. I did unstilled both captivate and Photoshop and redownload, I restart my laptop several times. I am not sure why I just cant use captive, I receive from them email of thank you of staring the 30 days trial. pleas advice on this issue. thank you

Newbie here! I seem to be running into a lot of limitations in Captivate - is it me, or the app?

I am very new to using Adobe Captivate, so new that at the moment I'm still playing around with the 30 day trial version, which appears to be the most recent version of the app. I'm feeling very frustrated, and I'm sure it's down to my inexperience, but it seems very limited. For example, I'd like to have a background image of floorplan with buttons which, when pressed, would take learners to a specific lesson for that room in the house (this is a home first aid module), but the buttons all seem to be locked in place and can only be moved left or right. I also tried the hotspot as an option, but of course they're not geared to that.  At the moment, I feel like I can do more with H5P or even Powerpoint. What am I missing, and what should I be looking at to improve?

For anyone looking for a solution to remove Duration from the TOC, this simple fix works.Once you have published, go to index.html and edit it in VS Code or similar and place this after the <head> tag:    <style>      .toc-preview-content-item-duration.duration-column {          display: none !important;      }  </style> Result is:

Bottom of text clipped

Noticed that the bottom of some letters are getting clipped. Tried adjusting the font size and the padding around that texrt box, as well as adjusting the text layers in the timeline, but nothing seems to help get the bottom of those G's to appear.  Any ideas of how to fix this?

PDF functions in Adobe Captivate 12.6

Not sure if I'm losing my mind. I remember the ability to zoom in/out and print pdf in review/published mode. (Captivate 12.6)Did they take away this feature? In my narration, I mentioned to the students the ability to print the curriculum.

Captivate 12.6 Combine two files.

Like so many others, I am so frustrated by this new version of captivate. Slow, slow, crash, crash, just stops working and won't open some files for no reason. I am trying to combine to .cpt files and since there is no longer an option under import to bring in slides from another project, I tried copying and pasting. This results in captivate shutting down every time. Does anyone have suggestions on how to bring slides from one project into another?

captivate classic 360 slides, publishing

I am fairly new to captivate although I have learned to use it pretty well.   I love using the 360 slides in my training and they usually work fine with a few glitches here and there.  Here is where I am running into a problem:  I built a module where it is basically just informational.  You click a marker on a plot and it brings you into a 360 environment and you navigate around in 360 slides from there.  No quizzes or questions, just a tool for viewing in a VR type environment.   I have built it and it works great in preview.  It is too large of a file to publish to our LMS system, which I originally planned to do and just not have any reporting.  Then I tried to just publish it to HTML so I could allow users to access it at any time with a link and use it.  It seems like when you publish it as just HTML and try to open it in a browser, it just shows black screens for the 360 slides.  I am not finding any solutions for

Hotspot moving from where placed

Hi, I'm using Captivate 12.4. When opening my project in preview and/or published project, the hotspots are further left than where placed in the app.  I read a similar issue posted in Feb 2024 and followed the instruction to clear cache but this has not fixed the issue. Why is this issue persisting and is there a fix? In the app       Preview / published

I am using Windows 10  (Build 18363.1679) and have all my browser and OS up to date.This comes up when I open Captivate and once i click on sign in.Update requiredYour browser or operating system is no longer supported. Image box sizing in new Captivate

I'm a long-time Classic user being frustrated out of my mind by new Captivate. I want to create a graphic of a line across the page, with text above and below the line. As I have seen people say so often here, this takes 5 seconds in Classic... For the life of me, I can't find any way to resize the graphics box  height to be narrow enough. It seems it can only be resized to the height shown below. Am I missing something obvious or is this the best that can be done?

Scrolling Panel in Captivate Classic

I need to have a screengrab scrollable on the slide in captivate Classic. I also need hotspots to scroll so that the user can click the links in the screengrab.Storyline has the scrolling panel feature, this is exactly what I need in Captivate Classic.  Is this possible in Captivate Classic?The obvious solution is simply to use Storyline, but that's not possible on this occassion.

HiI'm using the latest version of captivate on a project that involves a lot of video (mp4). All works perfectly in Captivate preview and when I publish (SCORM) to our LMS (Moodle) and preview there. But when I access it as a user the videos and audio files randomly cut off either at the start or at the end. I've tried adding a pause on exit but it makes no difference. I can see others have had similar issues over the years but cannot find a definitive solution anywhere. Can anyone help please?

How to create sections in same project

In Captivate I want to create 3 sections in the same project and I want if one section button is clicked then only that selection slides to be shown till the course is completed by attempting that section quiz. Is this possible if yes can anyone guide how in a newer version of Captivate?

Button Consistency - New Version of Captivate

I am using the new version of Adobe Captivate and have an issue with getting a consistent look and feel with my buttons. I am trying to get a similar look and feel to the buttons in the below screenshot. The main reason I need the rest of the training to mirror this page is because the ability to force users to go through each step is tied to the buttons shown here, not the buttons in the play bar. However, when I use other slide templates—like the one below—the button is at the top of the screen, and I can't change the position. If the button locations are always changing, that's a problem for usability. Consistency is important from a design perspective and to make it user-friendly.Then I thought I'd try to insert an interactive button block below the main block, but there are two issues with this approach. 1) The most important being there is only one design style for the button!! The buttons with circles and arrows are not an option on this page (see below). 2) If the content

Remove extra spice under Hotspot Widget (Adobe Captivate 12.6)

I added a hotspot widget to a blank slide and added 6 hotspots. I also added a title and instructions as well as changing the default image for is under the hotspots.  Although I changed he padding of all possible elements using the design options (Hotspot Widge,t Title, Body, Instructions, Next and Previous), there seems to be a large space underneath the image  and hotspots that is not being used. I tried several methods to remove the space since it makes the slide long without reason and creates a scroll in a browser. Unfornuately, every method I tried to remove the space using the padding features, has failed. (Adobe Captivate 12.6)

Audio cutting out in LMS

Has anyone had issues with audio being cut off within your projects? I'm using the built-in text-to-speech option to add narration. I've had no issues testing on the timeline, when previewing the course, and when sharing for review. The issue happens when I publish to our LMS (Cornerstone OnDemand). For troubleshooting, I've added additional silence to the end of my generated text-to-speech. Anyone else experience this issue? Any other suggestions? Edit to add: I'm using Captivate 12.5

Rotate object using Javascript without it resetting to original position first

Hi,I've created an interaction which invites the user to guess a percentage but rather than simply have them enter a number, I wanted it to have them press and hold buttons to adjust the displayed percentage up or down - I found some code on another thread which does this job perfectly. Now I'd like to add a graphical representation of the percentage level - a meter that fills up or empties according to the percentage (see below). I've created an image to represent this and need to animate it to simulate the meter filling up/emptying.  There seems to be a couple of ways of achieving this as far as I can tell - either some sort of WAAPI/CSS/jQuery animation or by triggering an advanced action as part of my existing code. I haven't been able to get the first options to work - whether that is down to my own ignorance, inability to understand or organisational restrictions I don't know. The second option of triggering and Advanced Action does work, but only to a point.&

Captivate demo video quality

I am creating demonstration videos with Captivate for a client who are implementing new time management and reporting software. They want individuals to be able to go through the training alone on a computer monitor, and also want an instructor to be able to show the training on a big screen at the front of a classroom / auditorium. I have completed a large 130 screen video and initial feedback says the video (asset) quality needs to be better.1. How can I maximize the quality of a demonstration VIDEO?2. If I publish to HTML instead of video, will this improve the quality?3. Does the way I save the screen images affect the video quality? (Should I re-save them to bmp or something else. I saved them as jpg)Any suggections would be tremendosuly appreciated.

Demo mode not working in captivate

I'm attempting to make a simple recording like i had done with captivate previously. I run through my settings ensure when i record im in demo mode and yet still everytime it makes my video in to slide based on clicking. Can you no longer make single videos in captivate cause ive spent over an hour plus looking and there isnt much to look at to determine where the issue is but i've found nothing. TL:DR how can i make just a single video and not a bunch of slides while recording
