Captivate

Hello!I'm working on a slide where the user has several image choices, all assigned a clickbox that changes states views, that are answers to the question. A few of the images are correct so I've assigned them point values, however I would like to assign negative points to the clickboxes over the the incorrect images. So if the user selects the wrong image it will count against their total point value for the quiz. Is there a way to assign a penalty to a click box?Thank you!

I have gotten a trial of Adobe Connect because it seems to be the only way I can test my work. I would really like to be able to use it directly in Canvas, but that doesn't seem to be working. Has anyone had any luck with Canvas? There does not appear to be an option to publish as html5, so a webserver is required? Is there a way to just host a Captivate session on a random website (Wix, GoDaddy, etc.)? How else can I use what I've created without spending another small fortune for Adobe Connect? Thanks!

Hi, seems like I'm missing something in my understanding of how the breakpoint actually functions. I've got a project with a mobile breakpoint of 414. This is the version that is displayed on my iphone 6 in portrait mode. However the actual pixel width of my iphone is supposedly 750px so I should be seeing the tablet version. Thankfully this is not the case, should I rather be looking at the uikit size that is mentioned and is this a common feature on mobile?  I'm also wondering if it would be a good idea to increase the mobile breakpoint to e.g 600 px to provide a larger canvas that would provide better resolution if the user wants to zoom in? Thanks Jorgen

I've put a text-entry-box into a course, giving the learner three attempts to answer correctly before I just give them the answer.  I'd like to be able to clear their answer out of the text entry area and I tried to do that with an advanced action that sets the variable (Answer) for the box with Assign =  " " when the learner selects the "Close" button on the popup that appears when the answer is wrong (see below).  That however does not work. Any ideas?ThanksJay P.S. I made my own "submit" button for the text-entry-box...I didn't use the one attached to it by Captivate.

I am using custom feedback for quiz questions and have checked the Pause to Display Feedback button in the quiz properties. However, it only pauses for like 2 to 3 seconds so learners do not have time to read the entire feedback message before it disappears.    How or where do you set the pause time for this feedback pause to make it a longer period of time that allows learners to read the feedback before it disappears?    Thanks!

I am developing an entire curriculum in Spanish using the Spanish Voice Paulina, but there are certain product names, departments, (not to mention the company name itself), that are mentioned often and must be prounounced as English words.  Currently we're trying to listen out for each mention of these English words, then rewrite them into creative nonsense words using Spanish vowels to trick Paulina into pronouncing them correctly.  However, this is taking a great deal of time considering the volume of lessons in this curriculum, and in doing some research I discovered that Captivate can "re-program" the way certain automated voices pronounce specific words using the Text to Speech Dictionary. However, after finding the Text-to-Speech dictionary, there are only 7 voices available to work with, none of which are Spanish speaking (which means no Paulina).  Am I missing something?  Is there a way that I can find or download the Text-to-Speech Dictionary for addit

Hello, is it possible to edit the main page? (add buttons oder icons)I want to place our logo and a text into these red areas. 

While working on a project, Captivate crashed.  When the project was opened again, three of the Advanced Actions have no code showing; they cannot be altered, added to, renamed, or deleted; Captivate insists there is an object associated with it.   After reading this thread:https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate/serious-problems-with-advanced-actions/td-p/9729097?page=1 I uninstalled Captivate, used CCleaner, and reinstalled it.  The Advanced Actions are still messed up.  Solutions?

I'm trying to make a custom theme the default theme. When I set it as default by right-clicking it from the Themes button and choosing "Set as Default Theme", it "works" for the next blank project I create, and for the next Software Simulation I record. But if I close Captivate and then make a blank project or Software Simulation, not only is the default theme back to Pearl, but the custom theme isn't even listed as a possible theme in the list of themes. What's going on? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,I preview the Quiz in html 5, the Submit text  moves when I hover the mouse.  In the Quiz setting, I have selected Default text button style.Could you please let me know what's the issue here. How can I stop the submit text movement? I have attached a smlla video clip. Thanks,Venkat

Hi, Have a Project with Quiz in Random Question Slides and want to have a 75 Minutes Timer which runs and is visible on the screen to the user only during the quiz.Kindly suggest , since the current " timed " option has 2 limitations that I see:- Not Visible when the Quiz is attempted- Has a 1800 Sec Limitation, Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone!I have a question that I'm not sure there is a solution to. I have a slide where the user clicks on the slide bar and it slides to the right, shows the 80% and shows the next button (all in advanced actions). However, I am able to click it twice and it slides even further alomost off the screen. My client doesn't like this. Is there a way to ensure that it can only be clicked once? Thanks!!!!

I have a problem with the bullet points in my PowerPoints (exported from Googleslides) when they are imported into Captivate19.  It appears the bullet points which are orange are misinterpreted and they are blown up and cover large portions of the slide. I have found a way around the problem.  When I remove the bullet points in the PowerPoint and reinserted them chosing an orange color, Captivate imports the PowerPoint without the problem.  I would like to better understand what causes the problem and if there is an easier way to get around it.

I found something showing that quiz results could be sent to an email address in a prior version of Captivate. Is this possible to do in Captivate 2019? I have a project that will be hosted on an outside independent website and not connected to a Learning Management System and want to be able to get data to the project manager. 

I am doing a software simulation. On each slide is one TEB. When loading the screen, I am not seeing the cursor within the TEB. When I press Tab, the cursor is displays within the TEB but according the the Tab Order, it is the only item on the canvas. I read that this was a known issue in 2012 but I can't find where it has been fixed. 

Captivate crashes evry time we try to set Quiz Preferences > Quiz Settings >Ok(button)The Project has > 13 Questions pools with a total of 170 questions.It just goes into not responding mode and crashes as and when "OK" is clicked post the settings are done.

Nothing appears on the slide but the audio plays on preview and publish.Also the objects (images/texts) suddenly started to show up at different timeline on some slides.  Anyone else experience anything similar? Thanks in advance, 

Hi,    I have an Adobe Animate .oam on a Captivate slide.I am trying to find a way to automatically move to the next slide when the Animate web-object completes it's animation timeline.Is there something I need to add within the Animate project (javascript) to somehow communiate with the parent Captivate project to move to the next slide, or is there some option in Captivate that can detect when the Animate Web-object has completed?Thanks for any advice!

Need to remove the down status of Submit buttons that is created automatically. While i have removed the rollover and down status of the button in status view. Please help me to resolve the issue. Thank you!

I just created a project with the trial version of Captivate 2019 for a class that I am taking. I know that the SWF files expire when my trial is over. Do the HTML5 projects expire too? If so how does Adobe have them expire?

I am using Adobe Captivate 2019, and have added an asset slide form the "business" library (see first picture). However, I cannot find where to edit the "back" of the card (see picture 2 in preview). Any help would be much appreciated!

I am using Captivate 2019 and have created a fairly large branching project.When viewing the project in HTML the first branch runs fine however when it comes to jumping to the second branch the screen goes grey and hangs.Sometimes there is a message that saying that a long script is running but not always.Any ideas ?

How do I remove the gray highlight when I roll over a multiple choice quiz question? When I publish the project as scalable it looks like I am selecting the wrong answer . Can this gray highlight be removed or at last change the color so I don't see it?

I am making eLearning on an application that opens sub-menus whenever the user rolls over a menu item. I am desperately trying to find a way to simulate this in captivate. But I can no longer find a way to go to the next slide on rollover. It used to be possible in previous versions of captivate. A Rollover slidelet allows for actions on rollover, but I need to publish to HTML so that is out. Despite what adobe documentation says, Rollover Images and Rollover Captions do seem to publish to HTML5, but you cannot add actions to them like a button or a click box. My learners will be using laptop/desktop computers with a mouse (no mobile users) so that is not a problem. Does anybody know a way of triggering a basic action or Advanced action when the user rolls over something? It seems tht since mobile users can't do this, Captivate has decided that none of the rest of us can.

So I want the follwing interaction: I have a selection slide: Select if you took Physics 101 the course last semesterThe students are presented with 2 options: 1. I did (assume this is Group 1)2. I did not (assume this is Group 2) Based on the selection they are taken to a common landing slide. After that I want to take them to slides based on their previous selection (for example slide 15 for Group 1 and slide 25 for Group 2). Is this possible without moving/duplicating the lading slide before the selection window? Because I have several common and group specific slides.
