Captivate

Has anyone run into this before? I was editing an existing project in Captivate 2017 and suddenly one of the matching slides started doing this in SCORM preview and HTML 5 in browser. I rebuilt the slide from scratch and I'm having the same result. The image below depicts what is happening. I know removing some of the knowledge check slide boxes like "Question title" and "Question" can cause glitches. They had been deleted from the original so I hoped that would solve my problem but I haven't had any luck. Any help you might be able to offer would be much appreciated!! 

Is there a way to click on a step and have text-to-speech audio start? and have my text show at the same time. I can get the text to appear when clicking on step, but audio plays without clicking on step.Thoughts? How to? ideas?Thanks much.

Every time I try to add background audio to a project it imports the audio and then this screen comes up.  You will note the Background Audio pop-up does not have the two buttons on the lower right corner which state "Save" or "Cancel".  It literally sticks on this screen and I cannot exit or get it to save in any way, I always have to reboot the project and it never adds the background audio.  Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,I am trying to learn Adobe Captivate 2017. When I try to access the assets for the training modules linked in the tutorials I sent to the login screen. I enter my Adobe ID and password, I select login and then nothing happens. Either the page does not load, I receive a 414 error or page simply reloads at login screen with my password and ID in place.Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there a possible fix? I have tried different browsers, incognitio mode, Mac and Windows and using my Google ID. I have been using the trial mode. Do I need to purchase Captivate?Thanks

Hello everyone,I have a user who emailed me about our company's e-learning training module. He tried to complete the training using his Mac computer on Google Chrome but during the video segments of the training (the videos are set to autoplay) he had a blank screen with no audio. Most of my company uses windows PCs and there were no issues with windows computers in this regard. Is there anything on my end or the user's end that could be done to amend this issue?I am using the 2017 release for captivate (10.0.0.192)

I am doing a responsive course for a pushbutton meter that has a keypad on it. I need to place buttons on top of the image of the keypad so when pressed it will trigger an action. I can't seem to figure out how to keep the buttons in place over the image when the screen size changes (responsive change). They currently float off the image when screen size changes.

I have searched but have been unable to find a method to create the results of a time clock (punching in and out for work) in Captivate.I can get the display to show the hour and minutes, but is there a way to capture that time and on the following display, show it and not allow it to change as real clock time advances? I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

I am having several issues with keyboard accessibility on a project I am working on.Unable to tab to the TOC button except on a Knowledge check slide.  For some reason it works here but everywhere else it tabs right past it Unable to tab to Hyperlinks in text boxes.  These appear in the tab order but when tabbing through the slide are never reached. Tab order of Knowledge check slides is random.  The only item that shows up in the tab order is the submit button.  When I try to tab to the individual choices it randomly jumps from one to another.Does anyone know how to address these issue?  Thanks.

I've searched the forums and haven't found a fix for this (though I may not be looking in the right place).  I've got a project (31 slides, very little interaction as it's the course intro).  One slide shows a picture of our product, and when the user clicks on each highlighted part, the click box takes them to another slide to learn more details.  When they're done, they click a button to return to the initial slide.  There's a conditional action on the main slide that hides a "Next" button until all components have been viewed "IF Count >/= to 7 THEN show...".  There's an enter action for each component slide to hide the click box and increment the variable.  All in all, it's not that complicated and it's been working on various versions for a year and a half.I opened one of these course a few weeks ago to change out some pictures, and when I loaded it back to the LMS, the project froze when a user tried to click one of those boxes.  It worked fi

I'm running into an issue where the gif plays once doesn't replay when return to a slide. It remains on the last frame. I tried selection the loop option in captivate, but that didn't work,Is there a feature I'm missing i need to check off?

I am using Adobe Captivate 2017 Release. I have made numerous CBTs using Captivate 2017 Release. In my CBTs I have added buttons to certain frames and when click these buttons are to open certain files. Since we have migrated to OS Windows 10 those buttons do not work. The only buttons that do work are the "continue to next slide" or the "Submit" buttons on the test pages. My other buttons that are used to open other files do not work. When you click the button nothing happens. This problem is present when the user is in OS Windows 10 workstation. The buttons do work in OS Windows 7. I have tried publishing as "SWF" only or "HTML5" only or both and the problem still exist. There are buttons and not "smart shapes". I selected these buttons from the "Interactions" selection.

Hello, everyone,For once, I don't have a specific problem, but rather seek broader understanding of a functionality.  I did a lot of searches for it first, and while there's a multitude of questions on this subject, they are mostly specific trouble-shooting questions, whereas I'm wondering about the general business logic behind Quiz Preferences.I suppose my overarching question is: what supersedes what in quiz settings?That is to say: I understand each choice separately (I understand completion, success, reporting, pass/fail), but I'm not sure how they play together: what will override what if I select conflicting things, and what problems it may or may not pose?  For instance, if in Reporting, I do not choose "Quiz is Passed" as Success Criteria, only slide views, but then in Settings, I select "Pass Required", what will happen when I publish?What will happen if I reverse it, and choose "Optional" for settings, but select "Quiz is Passed" for Success Criteria under Reportin

Hello there,At the end of a captivate project without quizzes, if the user clicks on "Next" button, not only he quits the chapter itself but all the course (the course has two chapters in it). The button is set to "quit the project" - as in all our other projects in which the "Next" button on the quiz results' page makes the user quit only the chapter not all the course.I'd like to know whether it was possible to set the "Next" button in the chapter without quiz to have the same function (close only the chapter's window, not to quit all the course).Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi! There are lot's of svg themes on the forum, but I can't find simular problems.Svg files looks perfect on stage, or when I preview my project, or when I publish my responsive project and open index_scorm.html right from my documents. All is fine. But when I import scorm in LMS (WebTutor) and open project right there - svg files aren't showing, they just start to download immediately to my PC. The same happens, when I open course from Android smartphone - svg file downloads without showing. What can be wrong?

I am using Captivate for the first time and one thing I would like to do is simulate a login page, using a username text input box, and a password text input box, on the same page, with a 'login' button (selected after entering username and password).The instructions to the learner is to use a specific username and password.  If either of these are incorrect, the user should be directed to a 'error' page; if both are correct, they continue through the screens.I have been able to have Captivate work with the correct username and password (Jumping to a specific slide, and continue through the slides).I am having difficulties having the login page, with one or both incorrect data inputs go to the 'error' page.The sign-on page has:TEB for usernameStyle:  retain text, show text box frame, validate user inputActions:  on success continue, infinite attempts, shortcut: enter, on focus lost: no actionTEB for passwordStyle:  retain text, show text box frame, password field, v

Hey Captivate gives me an error code and directions to change DPI_Awareness to 1 in the .ini file.But when i do this the UI becomes really small. is there a way to fix this?RegardsJørn

I am a programmer by my previous training.As a final project in my Instructional Design degree, I am planning to build an online course with an integrated controlled experiment on learning styles and built-in assessments.During the experiment, learners will be randomly assigned different learning styles for the same material.Question:Does Captivate provide flexibility to choose randomly study material, possibly based on user ID?Moreover, I want to store data after learners pass several assessments. Saved data will help to measure retention of the material studied and to evaluate the efficacy of the learning styles.Question:Does Captivate provide the flexibility to record data for every learner? I will probably need to capture user IDs, type of the material studied, assessment results, and maybe the time it took them to answer questions in the assessment.I am wondering where I can read how to do the above.Thanks.Viktor.

I have a captivate 2017 project with a single slide video.  I have created captions for the video within the video timing. I needed to update the video with a new version and have exported the closed captions for the old video.  How do i import the closed captions for the new updated video?  The option to import is grayed out in the drop down menu.Having to redo all of my captions when i update a video file seems completely counter productive.

I want to add additional xAPI statement to Captivate so that we can have more robust reporting.  What file would i edit in Captivate to add these statements? Or do I have to create an external *.js file that I will need to run?

Hello all,I've run into a fun new problem today. I'm updating a software simulation to HTML 5 and I'm having trouble identifying the reason my TEB won't write to the assigned variable. I've tried running tests and it seems the TEB is not writing to the variable no matter what I try.I am running the cpExtra widget and using the xcmdnPreventTabOut so that tab can work as a submit button for the TEB. The entry into the TEB is stored in UserID. I then call this variable on the next slide, but it stays as null. Can someone help me out with potential issues of fixes?Thanks in advance,Jacob Strand

I'm working on a project and I want to create a "menu" in adobe animate CC with some animations and three buttons (one for each chapter).As of now everything is working but I want to tweak it a little because every time I'm adding a slide or removing one in captivate (client wants to make changes as we're working and I know I can wait until the slides are finished to change the numbers but I just want to know if its possible for future projects) I have to go back to Animate CC and change the slide numbers I want to jump to while clicking any of the chapter buttons. My question is: is it possible to use a go to slide name instead of number? right now I'm using this for my first chapter button in animate:this.chapter1_btn.addEventListener("click", fl_MouseClickHandler.bind(this));function fl_MouseClickHandler(){window.parent.cpAPIInterface.gotoSlide(2)} if it's possible to go to a named slide instead of a slide number I could name the slides to chapter_
