Captivate

I am trying to have knowledge checks placed throughout the content where if the user fails the knowledge check, it will re-route them to the prior slide where the content is covered > they get another chance to take the knowledge check > once they pass, they proceed to the next slide. However, they must pass to proceed. How can I add the part where it reroutes them? I assume it's in the interactions, but I don't know what to add. Thoughts?  (using the new Adobe Captivate)

Hi! I'm using Adobe Captivate Classic. I'm on version 11.8.2 (latest version). What is happening is upon opening the project, the center image gets stuck on the first slide and doesn't change. I've recorded a video here: https://youtu.be/YO1w1aQJIlg - set to unlisted, but if you click the link, you should be able to watch it. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing. I tried changing the installer location. I've cleared the cache and the keychain. I'm not sure what else to do. Is this a bug with Adobe? 

I am trying to create a hotspot with an attached audio. So, when the user clicks on the hotspot of the image, an audio starts playing. Then, if heclicks on another hotspot of this slide, another audio will start playing. I tried using javascript, but I wasn't able to do so. Also, how could I import my own audio recordings? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, Does working offline with Captivate cause many issues? I have been working off the server and noticed I have had a lot. I have now saved the file on my desktop. Noticed some videos and interactions missing. Also I may have missed a setting somewhere as some of my slides move automatically and other slides the user has to press play before anyhing starts.

Hello all:My org recently did a major Win 11 update (v22H2).  Now I am unable to get my Captivate Classic to open properly.It launches and asks me to choose to Browse, Create, or explore resources.  However, when I either select an existing file, or ask it to create a new one, it fails to do so.  No UI, just the icon in the taskbar and blank thumbnails when I hover over the icons.I am wide open to suggestions...-Mark

I embedded Captivate 2019 HTML5 project in iFrame of the web page. Everything works fine except the main page scrolls to the iframe on load in Firefox and Edge. It's certainly not what I expected and I can't figure out why is it happening. Some forums  suggest it is in some way connected to autoplay function. I tried with autoplay on and off but the problem is the same, although autoplay doesn't work at all due to the known autoplay problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! I am making a learning video with fillable textboxes. Do you know if I can make it so that the video starts playing when the students fill in the textbox and hit enter? (I thought it would be nice if they don't have to hit "play" button)

Does anyone know how to replay a part of the slide video in Adobe captivate 2023? I created bookmarks to jump back to where the particular part starts, but it freezes when the video gets to the bookmark. 

I feel like I run into this often and I can never find the answer.I create a slide with all of the objects I want on the screen (responsive project with fluid boxes).I create buttons for options of testing the knowledge I want from the user.Then I get to the part where I want to set it up as a quiz question and my options are limited and the Quiz menus are greyed out.I can "include in quiz", but i can automatically show the success or failure options and have the project pause without using advanced actions. It would be much simpler to just have the options available on a regular quiz slide to ensure it functions properly without me needing to create more advanced action problems (potentially) as I go.What am I missing here? Using most recent version of captivate. Using objects as buttons....what other questions? 

I am trying to make a dictation exercise video with the slide video and overlays. When a bookmark takes us to an overlay, the video stops playing and goes silent. Is there any way I can keep playing the video in the background? 

I'm using Adobe Captivate Classic  11.8.2.254.  I've created a quiz with a question pool and slides for 50 random questions selected from the pool.  When viewing the Question pool, each slide has "Question <X> of <Y>" showing in the lower left corner of the Question Title box.  But when the quiz is published (or previewed) that information does not show for the quiz taker.  Preferences are set to "Show Progress" with Progress Type "Relative."  Does anyone have any ideas that might help a new user?Thanks.

Does anyone know how to set right answers on the radio group interactive component on Captivate 12.1? Or does anyone have any tutorials on how to set up quizzes on the new captivate?

I am exploring the Software Simulation functionality of the All-New Captivate and I cannot see where the colour for the highlight boxes is set. Obviously I can go into the individual highlight boxes and change them one at a time on the visual properties panel but I cannot find anywhere in the theme panel or preferences where the colour is defined. The colour used does not seem to be one of the default theme colours in the colour configuration panel.Is there a way to make a 'global' colour change to the highlight box object?Many thanks for any suggestions M

How do I move a fluid box up and down the hierarchy? How can we update our layout if added fluid boxes can't be moved around?

These both seem like  simple questions but I cannot seem to find the answer in Help or poking around in the Captivate. How do I move the positon of the menu from the right to the left?How do I change the colors on the playbar and the menu? I tried playing around with the Theme colors but they seem to have no effect on the menu or the playbar. Thanks for any guidance. 

Hi there. I have several embedded videos (regular videos, not slide videos) in my project. In Captivate and preview mode, the "full screen" function in the playback controls works fine, but whenever I upload as a SCORM to Canvas, the "full screen" mode is greyed out. This is particularly frustrating because all of the pre-installed design options make the videos display pretty small on each slide. Any solutions?

I've tried different monitors. Settings scale is 100% (lowest possible).  Display Resolution is 1920x1080.  I've tried lowering the resolution but it only makes it worse.  Thanks!

I upgraded to Captivate Classic 11.8.2.216 and am running Ventura 13.6 on my Mac OS. When I open my older Captivate files everything seems to work great but the stage is just a blank space. Set it to "Best Fit" and nothing appears. The timeline is there and so is the film strip. This happens with files on my desk top and files on a server. It even happens with Captivate Classic Sample Projects in the eLearning Assets folder. See below:Stage is totally not there. Even if I start a brand new project you still can't see the stage. I have completely uninstalled every Captivate version I had on this computer and reinstalled the newest Captivate Classic. Still the same result. No stage. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!

Hi, I have a PPT slide deck (32 slides) and would like to add a pop up text box to each. I have slide 1 set up the way I want it, with a "show text" button, a "hide text" button, the text box itself, and advanced actions for applicable showing/hiding. Is there an efficient way to replicate this interaction for each of the 32 slides (same structure of interaction, but different text in each box)? So far I figure that duplicating/renaming each advanced action for each slide will work, but then I will have dozens and dozens of actions to sift through and I'm hoping someone out there has a smarter approach!

Hi, I am still learning Captivate 12. I am having a lot of difficulties getting the buttons to work correctly. I added a new slide in and changed the interaction of the button to go to the slide I just created. When I preview it, the project skips the slide I want it to go to and goes to the one after it. This has been happening constantly on any new slides I'm adding to the project. I've worked on this for hours trying to find a way to make it work correctly. I've tried restarting the project and even uninstalling and reinstalling the program.I've added some attachements inculding a video of what's happening. Is there anything I'm missing?

Hi All:I have been waiting for Adobe support to get back to me, but a client is waiting....ABOUT MY PROJECT - I created a blank Captivate file. I added to that file a VR slide. Within that slide I have multiple Hotspots, most only to show Display Text. Two to navigate to a different (not VR) slide.PROBLEM - No hotspot works upon publish.SYMPTOMS :Previewing HTML5 in Browser results in functioning Hotspots as expected / intended. Hi there. We recently moved over to Captivate 12 and I was trying to set up the navigation in our projects the way we had it in Captivate Classic, with the Next button appearing at the end of narration upon first visit only, and then appearing right away on slide revisit. I reached out to Adobe and although they tried to provide support, the steps and instruction I received were not correct and did not achieve the functionality I was going for.  In order to document my solution for the rest of our team, I created a Captivate project that demonstrates the soution with the buttons and includes instructions for how to do this in your own projects in the tabbed widget on the first page. Unfortunately, I'm not able to upload the project to a web server to share it with you, so I've included screenshots of the project with the instructions in a PDF. Hope this helps someone!
