I'm working on a computer with a Windows 7 OS and Captivate 5. I have "stereo mix" enabled as default recording device.(Realtek high definition audio). My task at hand involves demonstrating a video captioning tool, so I need to be recording the video's audio as I step through the process of creating the captions in a web based environment. I must admit that what I am trying to accomplish works easily with other screen capture tools (even free tools) but I would really like to be able use Captivate 5 for this project and others upcoming that require the same functionality. As a last resort, I've also tried adjusting the audio settings within the project (selecting the "narration" option as shown) but I'm not having any luck getting the results I need. I'm really hoping that it's something simple I'm just missing, and that forum experts can nudge me in the right direction... Thanks very much for your input.
I am in over my head. I have a client who wants animated videos that are closed captioned and that have an interactive TOC. This is what I have done so far:1. Created the audio files from transcripts in Adobe > Audition.2. Created the animated MP4 files with Adobe > Character Animator (with imported audio files).3. Created the captions (I guess they have to be "open" captions) with Adobe > Premiere Pro.4. Last step (not done yet): Interactive TOC. Adobe > Captivate?Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the process in Captivate:1. Create an empty project, with as many empty slides as there are MP4 segments/topics.2. Import one MP4 file into each slide. (Captivate converts the MP4 to an FLV file.)3. Create the interactive TOC in Captivate. Is that accurate so far?Can Captivate export the final, complete project back to MP4?If not, does Adobe have a way for me to do what I need to do?The final deliverable has to be one single file that can be launched/run from something
I created a very simple course with a quiz that only has 2 questions using Captivate 2019. Then I uploaded it to the SCORM Cloud to test. I found that if user exit/close the course right after click the "Submit" button and before press "y" or any key to continue, when they try to re-launch the course, the system will prompt "Continue from where you stopped last time?", if user choose Ok, then the course will freeze and stuck at the 1st question slide, no matter where I click, the course is simply non-responsive (see screenshot below). But if I choose "Cancel" at the prompt "Continue from where you stopped last time?", then the quiz will continue to the next question slide. Since most of users will choose Ok, how can I fix this bug so the quiz won't freeze?Plus, isn't "Cancel" suppose to erase the progress and take the user to the begining of the course? Why it is not doing it?
Hi Everyone, I have created a custom quiz with a custom result slide. I'm not using the built-in system quizzing variables. It is all setup and working in preview but I now need to send the custom score (e.g. myquiz_score) to LMS. Unfortunately, I can't override the built-in score variable which is read-only. Any suggestions? None of the solutions has worked as mentioned here https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate-discussions/submit-my-quiz-score-to-the-lms-not-the-quot-native-quiz-quot-results/td-p/7209480
HiI have added a voice to a button with the action "play sound" that I want to be played when the button is clicked. But the sund plays when the slide is opened?
HiI was playing around with some buttons but decided to go another direction. But now two objects are stuck. They are not in the time line and they are not on any of the master slides. It do not mather if I change the master slide. The objects are stil there? HAve can I find and remove them.
We are interested in pulling LMS data into Captivate 2019 using APIs. How can we go about doing this?
Is it possible to deploy multiple recordable quizzes (SCORM to LMS) in a single Captivate file - course? Not talking about knowledge checks but two quizzes with different scores in same Captivate file.
We have a scenario where the users accessing a Captivate eLearning module on a learning management system who complete 80% of the module do not get a completion certficate. We have quizzes/knowledge checks in the module but we don't want to bind them to the module completion. The quizzes are just a casual knowledge check that can be retaken. But we want to make sure that if the user has seen 80% module and exits it we still call it as complete. If the user has seen only 50% module then we definitely don't want to call it as complete. How can this be achieved in Captivate?
This may be a one-off, but....I have been fielding usage issues with a Captivate-developed, SCORM-delivered training package that these users are viewing with Microsoft Surface Pro computers. Issues are that the course is in one case not loading and in another, a drag'n drop quiz question is not displaying properly and the course is not advancing. These may be two isolated incidents, but the common factor of Surface computers prompts me to see if there have been any compatiblity factors with Surface computer ... uhhh..... surfacing.... Thx! Don
Hello and thank you .How to fix this "Swf compilation failed. Note: Please verify any of the actionscript keywords is used as user variable name." in captivate 8. PC.
Hi: I imported a bitmap image into a Captivate 2 project that we want to use as our background. We think that looks much better than a plain old color. Even though the image looks great, it's only taking up about 70% of the screen size. I've desperately tried to find some setting to make our bitmap take up the entire screen as background, but cannot find that setting. There must be a way to do this. Thanks, Robert
Recently we built a quiz in Captivate 5 and after publishing the files in html5 format, the quiz runs fine and everything is operating as expected. These quizzes will be taken for a specific course in a designated training room/area where internet connectivity would be none. The idea is to run these quizzes off on Microsoft Surface tablets, but with no internet connectivity. My question is can I run Captivate Quizzes on tablets in offline mode and then have these students take the quizzes on those tablets? Also, would the Quiz Analyzer add on work offline to allow for quiz results reporting? Thank you for all your assistance in advance.
When I've exported a Zip file from Adobe Captivate to Moodle, and later uploaded it to Moodle within a theme, its worked correctly. But, when entering the view mode of the theme in Moodle, and clicking on opening that presentation, the following message appears and doesn't open it: "The page www.adobe.com has refused the connection." Can anyone suggest why and how to avoid it?
Greetings, ISSUE:Ok, so I need to make my Captivate output 508 compliant. I use variables in my files (Titles, 1 of <variable>, and many other use cases). However, screen readers read the variable and not the content ascribed to the variable. ASK:Is there a way to get screen readers to read the content and not the variable? Something with JavaScript to change the aria-label? I will be indebted to anyone who has a good solution! Thanks,Matt
So i have a question. When i have created my slide, and inputed my audio file. When i go to create my closed captions during playback the audio skips really badly. Now this isnt a huge deal as i can see the wav format, and slide the caption to the beginning of the sentence. I have found that this is only happening on my windows 11 laptop. Here are the spec's and it is completely up to date with all the drivers and adobe cloud/captivate. 2021 ASUS ROG Advanced Edition Laptop. AMD HX5900/AMD RX6800M/16GB GSkill Rip Jaws RAM/1tb Seabrent PCI Express 4.0 SSD. Now if i open the exact same file up in my captivate on my windows 10 PC it doesnt skip. Seems to be only a windows 11 thing as i rolled back my laptop to windows 10, and the problem was fixed. Ive searched online for a fix, but no one seems to have one. Just wondering if any of you guys have a fix for this particular problem? Oh and also is there a fix for when adding the first closed caption you dont have to move the marker to a par
Hi I have some quetions about the Interactions. In this project, what I want to do is let the image Moon and text Moon appear first, and after I click on the slide, the image Sun and text Sun will appear. The way I do this is adding 2 click boxes, and their Action on Success are Continue and Go to the nesxt slide. The area of the click boxes tile the whole slide. This is ok. But I always think there probably some efficient ways to achieve this. If there are, could you give me some related links? I can't find them in this community. Thank you so much!Best Regards
Within the last month or so I've seen some questions and comments on the forums from users attempting to use Adobe Captivate on M1 Macs. It distresses me that some users don't do the research before upgrading their hardware or software before learning the hard way that one may not always be compatible with the other. That's why I want to try to be preemptive with my advice about Adobe Captivate and Windows 11. An early unofficial release of Windows 11 has surfaced on the internet and many tech journalists have installed it to get the scoop in the tech news space. You might be tempted to find this download and install it on your computer, but my advice is to hold off. I get it. I love shiny new things, especially in the tech industry, but I'm a practical person as well. I never update software on my production machine until I'm confident that it's not going to impact my work. I also tend not to install recent updates until the completion of any projects I'm presently worki
Just installed my new Mac version of Captivate 2019 (11.8.0.710), created a simple two-slide project and when attempting to preview (HTML 5 in Browser), it fails immediately with a Publish failed message. When I attempt to Preview from this slide, an Adobe AIR window opens, with an OK button. When I click the OK button, I'm presented with a black screen. Very unsatisfying. My publish settings are the default: I'm on macOS Monterey version 12.6. I know a lot about Captivate on PCs and am guessing there's some macOS setting I need to tweak. Any help is most appreciated. Thanks!
Is there a way to customize Presenter's player? I want/need to redesign and arrange the player bar. Is there an API or FLA to tweak to achieve this? Similar to this in Articulate:http://www.mozealous.com/how-i-created-a-custom-articulate-presenter-skin-in-less-than-an-hour-2/
i like the bulletin widget, but wondering if there's a way to customize (or remove) the "project bullets" and "slide bullets" tab headings. There doesn't seem to be any explanation of this widget and it's odd that the tabs are not customizable (unless I'm missing something). Thanks!
What is the latest information avaiable on the future of Adobe Captivate? (Project Charm?). If there is no upgrade path, is it still eithcal to author in Captivate for new projects for future clients? Do I need to purchase a dedicated computer for Captivate considering I'm on an M1 Mac?
Hi there I've recorded a video demo and I am on camera narrating the steps for an application. In Captivate is it possible to have the screen setup so the video appears in a separate panel on the left and the content appears on the right. I'm not a fan of the video in a thumbnail on the software screen. Can this be done creating a template? Thanks.
Hi everyone,I downloaded a recent 2019 version a about 10 onths ago.Never used this style of interaction before, there is no dialogue box??? Thanks Shona
Hello,I have a strange problem that I can replicate every time, but I can't figure out what is causing it. I have a branching scenario. Slide #19 offers the user 3 options, let's call them Topic #1, Topic #2, and Topic #3. After a user selects one of the topics, the module branches off to have the user make a choice about that topic. Variables and scripts record their choice. Once completed, the module takes the user back to Slide #19. The Topic button the user initially selected is no longer available and the user must now select one of the 2 remaining Topics. Again, the user selects a remaining Topic and then makes a choice about it. Variables and scripts record their choice. Once completed, the module takes the user back to Slide #19 where only the not-yet-selected Topic button remains and is visible. Again, the module branches off and the user makes a choice about the third and final topic. Variables and scripts recor
