Captivate

Hi I have some quetions about the Interactions. In this project, what I want to do is let the image Moon and text Moon appear first, and after I click on the slide, the image Sun and text Sun will appear. The way I do this is adding 2 click boxes, and their Action on Success are Continue and Go to the nesxt slide. The area of the click boxes tile the whole slide. This is ok. But I always think there probably some efficient ways to achieve this. If there are, could you give me some related links? I can't find them in this community. Thank you so much!Best Regards   

Within the last month or so I've seen some questions and comments on the forums from users attempting to use Adobe Captivate on M1 Macs. Just installed my new Mac version of Captivate 2019 (11.8.0.710), created a simple two-slide project and when attempting to preview (HTML 5 in Browser), it fails immediately with a Publish failed message. When I attempt to Preview from this slide, an Adobe AIR window opens, with an OK button. When I click the OK button, I'm presented with a black screen. Very unsatisfying. My publish settings are the default: I'm on macOS Monterey version 12.6. I know a lot about Captivate on PCs and am guessing there's some macOS setting I need to tweak. Any help is most appreciated. Thanks!

Is there a way to customize Presenter's player?  I want/need to redesign and arrange the player bar. Is there an API or FLA to tweak to achieve this? Similar to this in Articulate:http://www.mozealous.com/how-i-created-a-custom-articulate-presenter-skin-in-less-than-an-hour-2/

i like the bulletin widget, but wondering if there's a way to customize (or remove) the "project bullets" and "slide bullets" tab headings. There doesn't seem to be any explanation of this widget and it's odd that the tabs are not customizable (unless I'm missing something). Thanks!

What is the latest information avaiable on the future of Adobe Captivate? (Project Charm?). If there is no upgrade path, is it still eithcal to author in Captivate for new projects for future clients?  Do I need to purchase a dedicated computer for Captivate considering I'm on an M1 Mac?

Hi there I've recorded a video demo and I am on camera narrating the steps for an application. In Captivate is it possible to have the screen setup so the video appears in a separate panel on the left and the content appears on the right.  I'm not a fan of the video in a thumbnail on the software screen.  Can this be done creating a template? Thanks.

Hello,I have a strange problem that I can replicate every time, but I can't figure out what is causing it. I have a branching scenario.  Slide #19 offers the user 3 options, let's call them Topic #1, Topic #2, and Topic #3.  After a user selects one of the topics, the module branches off to have the user make a choice about that topic.  Variables and scripts record their choice.  Once completed, the module takes the user back to Slide #19.  The Topic button the user initially selected is no longer available and the user must now select one of the 2 remaining Topics.  Again, the user selects a remaining Topic and then makes a choice about it.  Variables and scripts record their choice.  Once completed, the module takes the user back to Slide #19 where only the not-yet-selected Topic button remains and is visible.  Again, the module branches off and the user makes a choice about the third and final topic.  Variables and scripts recor

Really wanting some help. I don't have access to my C Drive and work with Captivate in a corporate environment, in  AVC. Everytime I try and change Preferences I get the error message to change the location of the Cache drive to local.  Have others faced this and how have they navigated it?

I want to create a series of six smart shape buttons (SSB).Each SSB enables the next in the sequence.On slide enter only button 1 is enabled.Clicking button 1 should change a state on another element AND enable button 2. However not only does button 2 not enable but the rest of the advanced action also fails and the state change doesnt happen either.What am I doing wrong?Is it just impossible to change the Enabled property of a SSB at runtime?

I have an odd issue on a Windows 10 computer that has both Captivate 8 (one off purchase version, not subscription) and Captivate 2019 (subscription version) installed. cptx files are associated with Captivate 8 (it was the first app installed) so of course when I double click on a Cp2019 created cptx in Explorer Cp8 opens, fails to load the file, and shows an error. No problem I thought, just right click and 'open with'. But when I browse to the Cp2019 exe (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\AdobeCaptivate.exe) then Cp8 still opens. I can't find any setting in Cp2019 to set file associations, and if I go to Windows Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose default apps by file type some of the file types are associated with Cp8 and some with Cp2019 (you can tell by the icon) cptx shows th Cp8 icon, but clicking on it only lists that app as a possible default, not Cp2019. Of course I can open cptx files in Cp2019 by opening Cp2019 itself and using the

Greetings, I would like to know if there is a way to import Blackboard Tests in Adobe Captivate. I read that cvs files can be imported into Adobe Captivate but I am not sure if there is a way to convert the Blackboard tests to cvs files.  Thank you for your time and help. Have a great day. Andres

We were thinking of buying Captive so I am trying out the trial version. Two big problems:(1) I can't import powerpoint slides. Failure mode: see screenshot(2) Can't publish. Error: see screenshotI do have openJDK installed. (Adobe support  also installed Oracle JDK).I had Adobe Support working with me. (They see the errors I mention above). They told me that the problem is conflicts with Crowdstrike Falcon. They gave me a version of Captivate which reports itself as 11.8.0.11. This solves the problems above.  We are concerned that the supported release does not work for us and don't know the status of the 11.8.0.11 version. In a couple sessions, I worked with Adobe Support about 2 hours. The trial version never worked, just the 11.8.0.11.   With the trial version running, Our IT department monitored Crowdstrike Falcon  while I demonstrated the failure modes. Captivate 2019 version 11.5.1.499Updates controlled by corporate admins(running Windows 11 w/ 11th gen Intel i7-1185G7 @3.00 GHz/1.8 GHz and 16 GB RAM [15.7 GB usable]  I have a template that I am using to create several modules for (deadline in two weeks). This morning,I initally opened successfully and  attempted to make adjustments to a template that I have four or five projects underway in. When I tried to save, I got an error message saying the file was corrupt w/"retry" and "cancel" options, but either one just opened a "50% compression window" whic remained hung up on the screen. I had to close Captivate through Task Manager as this window hung up the whole computer and I couldn't leave the Captivate application. Now I can't even open the template at all. It won't allow me to create a "New Project from Template" using the template, and when I try to open the template, both from from file explorer from the Captivate start screen, I now get the follow

Hello Madam/Sir,Good Morning/Good Evening, There is a issue with my project, please find the explanation below:Explanation:1) There are 4 buttons on the main slide, and the 4 buttons have 4 pop ups with 4 close buttons on the same main slide.2) These 4 popups have audio's inside them.3) Once the audio's from the 1st popup is done playing then only the close button from the 1st popup should activated to close the popup. Till then it should be disabled. It is the same for the remaining 3 popups.4) When all the popup audio's are finished playing next button should be enabled. Is there a way to write a advanced action for this case?

I found by accident that sending variables to a database with 'form action post' no longer works. My question: Does captivate prevent sending variable via 'form action post'? The variables are read in via php and mysql after sending.

Hi, We currently have PowerPoint slides for an instructor lead training course. So this in a classroom and the instructor uses a presentation clicker to advance the slides.I am wondering if Captivate can do that same thing, so slides are advanced using a clicker? Can I just import the PowerPoint edit what needs changing and then export as SCORM? Can a presentation clicker still be used? Kind regards, Kelly Sheehan

I am having significant trouble getting a SCORM 1.2, HTML5 (blank, non-responsive project) to sync up its completion status with Talent LMS.  I have tried just about every Adobe Captivate (2019) publish setting I can find with continued issues. Specifically, it seems there is a lag between the SCORM completing and the LMS recognizing the SCORM's completion status. Thus, learners are stuck on the screen with a completed SCORM, but cannot advance to the next learning module within Talent LMS. Current problem: All that to say, I thought I had identified a workaround by forcing the SCORM to close when completion criteria are met. This triggered the Talent LMS environment to enable learners to click to advance to the next module. HOWEVER, I have a few colleagues who tested the SCORM using Google Chrome on macOS and reported a browser tab crash upon completing the SCORM. Other open browser tabs are not affected, only the tab with Talent LMS and the embedded SCORM abruptly clos

I am new to Captivate.  When trying to upload either a PPT or PPTX, it seems to upload the slides, but then when I get to the preview window, it freezes.  I cannot hit OK or cancel or change anything.  So I am never able to actually convert them.  HELP!

I want to add some assets but when I click on the assets button, nothing happens. I'm using Captivate 2019Has anyone run into this and how do I solve it?Thanks
