Hi there, just watched the Hummingbird video (awesome) How would you make the change from side view to front view smoother? if you had to insert an intermediate drawing (or 2) in between the front and side drawings, how can you include it in the turn. Make sense?thanks

Hi,I made my puppet on photoshop as an original, and I was trying to make it move, but it isn't do you have any ideas?
I have no problem to move my character, but I can found out to stop the lips moving. What I need is that I can move my character when i make a rec without the lips do anything. How did I do that?
Sorry if this is such a basic question, but I can't seem to find a way of removing the grey dotted line around the talking head. How can I do it?! It's driving me mad!
Hey everyone,So my character animator is doing some weird warping with the body and face. I am not moving but it is still happen. It happens for a second and then goes away but it keeps happening. Sometimes the warp happens with my face going downward and sometimes the whole body goes to the left or right. I put the photos below. The first one is the normal one and the second one is the warped image. I have no physics properties on my puppet and I have simply rigged it according to the reference points on the body. Otherwise everything else is normal. Can someone please help me?oksamurai Thank you!
What are you guys building puppets in? Which is more user friendly?I tend to use photoshop because I know how to use it but I think I am could be making better looking puppets in illustrator.
Hi I´m working with a Steinberg UR12 usb audio interface, CA recognizes the interface in preferences but it says the audio level is too low even with all the knobs to the max. What can I try to get audio?
I am attempting to animate using a key framing approach. So, I imagined I could pose my character (just working with arms at the moment) using the dragger. Then, record a single frame, drag it out, then repeat for each new arm position. (Dragger is set to "hold in place").It mostly works, except when I play back to extended single frame, there is extra unexpected / undesired movement. I can't figure out why this is. Best understood in a video... notice how the bicep has a rubbery quality to it...This is how the arm is rigged up:
I am working through the online educator course for Character Design and Animation, and I've already hit a snag on my first assignment. I recorded something, and everything went as the instructions said it would until I tried to export to the media encoder. It says "could not read from source. check settings and try again." I am not familiar with either Character Animator or Media Encoder, so I have no idea what to do if the instructions don't work. I'm working on a Windows computer, if that helps at all.Help?
Trying out 1.5 it feels like like hair dangles bounce more. Here is exactly the same scene before 1.5 (I had a saved video file) and after. Note: changing the Dangle/Strength value seemed to have no effect. The hair at the front is 3 sections with 2 dangles each.Is this expected? Is there any way to control the amount of bounce? The old effect of walking. If you look closely, you can see some movement in the fringe (but not much). This is was generated in the previous release. The new walking impact shows a lot more bounce. Increasing gravity drags hair down more at front (as you would expect) but no impact on amount of bounce. Changing the Dangle/Strength from 1 to 200 has no effect I can notice as to the degree of bounce. This is v1.5.
Hello there...I am a newbie in this, so I am sure i have not figure out the correct workflow. If someone know that's great way to do pose to pose animation in Ch, please share video. So first thing: For the frontal view, I always have the arms open up at a 45 degree angle. but most of the default post I want to use is either standing or sitting down, so i need have the arm either bend or just hanging by the side. turn on the dragger/After move hold on a kind of let me hold the arm in the right place. I added audio file to the Characters, then go timeline compute lip sync from audio file. Then turn off the mic, record the facial expression from the video capture. Then I turn off my video cam, since I already have facial data + lip syn data i want on the timeline. So far so good, so the next logical step is to add dragger moment to timeline. in the dragger layer, i moved the Characters hand to a pose i liked and start recording for 30 sec. (basic layer)I also moved to specific audi
So I've been trying to figure out the walk cycle and followed all the tutorials I can get my hands on, trying to copy the tagging as exactly as possible, including the examples done by Dave Werner on his Okay Samurai YouTube Channel (which I love, by the way!) I've drawn a bunch of puppets that are ready for rigging, but when I tried to do a simple test puppet, I have only successfully been able to do a one-view walk cycle. As soon as I try doing the three-view walk cycle, with the frontal, right, and left profile, the puppet freaks out and either disappears (only appearing in a distorted walking form when I press the right arrow) or not at all (when I don't press anything or the left arrow). At one point, I had it working a little, but the entire puppet was heavily distorted (eye was detached and/or missing and the body looked nothing like a circle)...but it walked both ways! I followed the Tips and Tricks for the June edition, I believe, with the blue man that you begin with one view
I'm making my first animation, a very simple one, and everything has gone fine until now. I prerecorded a short voice over and imported it into CH. When I dragged the file to the timeline CH crashed. Reopened the app and the audio was still in timeline. Every time I make even a slight alteration to the audio file CH crashes. On reopen the change is there but the crash happens everytime I do anything to the audio file. No other crashes up until this issue. I'm on the current version on a MacBook Pro (2015). The audio file is an MP3. 3mb. I'm grateful for any help. Many thanks.Terry
Hi,Was just wondering how I add a foreground image that is drawn on a different program into character animator?
Hi,Probably this is a common problem but i can't find a way to resolve this. What i did wrong? Thanks for help.
I found a way to share a screen showing the streaming but I cannot make the audio work, not even using turning the Adobe Connect Mic on. What I have to do to stream using Adobe Connect with audio? Thank you for any help.
Andrew Jason KraI am starting with a blank face Photo Shop template that already contains mouth shapes that lip sync to the live microphone. How do I remove these mouth shapes so I can input my own drawn mouth shapes that are in Photo Shop files and put them into the proper places so they lip sync? In the tutorials, they show the mouth template that has white or clear boxes next to the letters, the mouth shapes are visible in these small boxes. I have not been able to find this template. The only template I see, has black boxes with nothing visible in them. So, how do I get rid of the original mouth shapes and input my own that will lip sync?
Hi Character Team,In Preferences, I see that there is only a way to output Live video. Is there any way to output live audio?
When using a walk cycle I have tried reverse engineering Maddy and the puppets provided and when I thought I had the naming conventions right and in the same place my character still distorts. She gets extremely weighed down and lengthy. This is what she looks like when not walking. It doesn't matter to me which direction she walk as long as she walks correctly. But no matter where I put points and origins and tags I get thisWhere her legs, arms and torso distort. If you wait to walk and use the left/right arrow keys you will see the body just drop like a huge amount of gravity was applied to her body. I have tried for days to fix this and am at wit's end. Please help! I've attached both the puppet and the original AI file. Thank you.Quarter Turn Essa - Google Drive
Hi, I exported a recording with what seemed as Transparent background to use it in after effects. In after effects I wanted to put my recording on top of a background layer. Yet, the puppet background was black and as to that, I could not have seen the background I wanted. Is there a way to export with a transparent background so it will work on after effects ?btw:I know I could have taken the PNG file into Ch program and record with the background I seek. Yet, My laptop cannot record with that background as it is too weak. thats why I had to get everything together on After effets.
I have two questions:1. I have a draggable handle on my arm layer on the character's hand. When I drag the hand/arm to the position I want, there is some additional slow rotation of the character's arm and hand. The rotation happens after the hand reaches the desired position and it happens very slowly. Is there a way to speed up the rotation or movement of the arm and hand or prevent this from happening? 2. I put fixed handles on the character's shoes on the Body layer, but whenever I move my head, the entire character rotates. The character's head and body are the same so I put that layer as the Body, so I'm not sure if that is causing the problem. For his head, I just have his facial features. Thanks for any help!
I've dynamically linked a Ch character in Ae. The character is briefly disappearing, repeatedly, during my two min long scenes. When I have the quality on Full, it disappears for about six frames; on Half, it only disappears for one frame, and on Third, it doesn't seem to disappear at all. This is happening several times a scene. Here's a screen recording of what happens in Ae (demo of error twice on Full quality, then with Half and Third): Dropbox - ch character disappears in ae.mp4 I thought maybe it wouldn't happen in the export, but this is the export: Dropbox - export of disappearing ch error.mp4 There's also a weird Ae glitch in the dynamically linked Ch scene, where the head jerks back and forth on Full quality, but not on Half, and not on the original Ch comp.Dropbox - glitch error.mp4 How can I prevent / fix this? I've tried making sure frame rate in Ae comp matches frame rate in Ch comp, plus restarting both programs, my Macbook etc.
As much as I try to put the correct circles on those parts of the correct layers, the only thing I get is something that looks like stretch Armstrong, and often even then it doesn't take the correct side. At one point every time I tried to drag an arm the hips moved.
Hi,I'm new to Character Animator and I've searched for hours to find a solution to my problem,I got a character that's permanently at 3/4 view, I'm trying to get the head of my character to move in a specific way.Basically, the head of my character tilts backwards and forwards like i want it too but drastically moves when i turn my head from side-to-side on my webcam.I'm wondering if there is an option to disable the input of moving my head side-to-side on the webcam to be left solely with the input of moving my head up and down.(while still having the input to the eyes and mouth etc.)I hope I'm being clear. Thanks in advance.
