This test image in sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto now displays identically, and with correct colors, on my wide gamut monitor. Windows 10, Photos version is 2021.21090.10008.0. This is good news, the bad news is of course that Windows 11 has broken color management.
I noticed that when I print the same file (a profiling test chart) in ACPU from Mac vs PC, and using the same printer there are differences in the colors. Eg the yellows are slightly more green when sent from Mac and a purer yellow when I send from PC. The only differnce I noticed with the workflows is that the printer drivers on Mac and PC are different, however they are both Post Script drivers and I have all color corrections turned off. So it should be the same, right? Could it be anything to do with color engines - Apple CCM vs Adobe (ACE)? I just thought that it wouldnt matter when printing from ACPU... Any help would be really appreciated! -Blake
Hello All - I've read quite a bit on the forum about color management recently and this has helped a ton. The one remianing question I have is around disabeling color management from the printer side, as it doesn't seem clear to me if it is actually disabled or not on my side. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious as I'm new to the configuration, but thought you all may be able to assist. As you can see from the collection of screen grabs I get the warning to make sure the printer settings have been turned off/defaulted to allow PS to manage. When I check I don't see anything that may allow this. My assumption would be that the setting would be in the Advanced Settings, but I don't see any. In checking the HP site, I didn't find much. I did read some of the posts by @D Fosse about the print profile, so Im guessing my issue nayt be the same- however I dont seem to have a print profikle that matches the suggested resolution. Any thoughts would be of great help. Thanks!
I do not know why I am getting two different results when viewing an image on photoshop versin 22.5.1 and Acrobat Pro 2021.007.20099. I have screened captures the result and you can see that the Acrobat is much more saturated than Photoshop on the same monitor.
CRIKIE! Been dealing with this issue all summer, not finding a workaround to fix it. That being......first.....Lightroom Classic is finding all my ICC profiles along with all other applications....but not PS Classic 10. I am using an iMac running Catalina os. When I go to print and to select a print profile all I get are the standard PS profiles, Fuji, etc. I've done everything recommended on the web and all YouTube videos. I've gone through my users/library, the other library, the system/ library and see all the profiles. Deleted them from colorsync in each and printers (Canon Pro9000 Mark II) including in the show contents folder. I've re-added them in each and done restarts in each library.....thinking....they needed Catalina to authorize them....which it didn't damnit. I've had them all and/or just some in each library at once but no go. I am not going to reinstall Catalina to do a test that way if I can help it. So................what'cha think? Any other ideas. By the way, these
I get an error message saying the site is insecure when trying to download CMYK ICC Profile from Adobe support and it ends in Site cannot be reached. I urgently need to download the color profiles. Any advice for an alternative FREE source or how to overcome this will be greatly appreciated..🙏 here https://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/iccprofiles/iccprofiles_win.html .
Hello, for an eyetracking experiment, I would like to determine the luminance value/brightness of different digital pictures and equalize these values. Does this function exist in Photoshop or another Adobe Program and if yes, how does it work? Is it also possible to determine the luminance value/brightness of a video?Thank you very much in advance,Katharina
Greetings, Is there a way to compare Gamut and Luminosity Coverage (3D models) for different Printer/ Paper combinations? The input data would be ICC profiles that I can download from Paper manufacturers such as Hahnemuhle or Ilford for specific printers such as the Epson SC P900 or the Canon Prograf Pro-521. Thanks in advance for your time.Regards,RD
I have a Dell UP3017 and U3011. Both have presets for SRGB, Adobe RGB, and a custom color setting. The two RGB presets do not allow for any RGB or white balance adjustments and even with ICC profiles are WAY off in color and white point (Delta E of 10 to 20). The custom color setting has full white balance and color controls however the gamut in that mode is wide gamut. I am wondering how to properly setup my Windows 8.1 color management settings to get that custom color mode to be sRGB instead of wide gamut. Any ideas? The U3011 is not able to be calibrated using DUCS. also where is some good repositories for ICC profiles and monitor settings? Thanks
Hi all, I have been getting along fine editing text and changing colours on psd docs. But for some reason I can't anymore. I cant change the text colour by selecting text and changing the colour. And I can't do it by using a colour overlay. Has anyone had any similar issues? Or any advise on how to fix this? Sasha
Hi, I thought I understood my color management settings clearly better than I actually do. I have a document in illustrator, set sRGB, using a background grey that is #ededed. I have that placed in a Photoshop sRGB file and the value is not identical when inkdropped (it's inkdropping as #ececec). Now, given that they are both RGB docs using the same sRGB color profile, shouldn't the color appear identical, regardless of if the preferences are to converted to working space, or preserve embedded profiles? My current Bridge profile I created has "preserve embedded" for both RGB and CYMK and is referencing my built color preferences file. Thanks,Mike
Hi color management folks,I'm looking for a good color combination to use for an outdoor kiosk that will be used in day or night.Any recommendations? Thanks,Paul
After using the Spyder Pro on my monitor ViewSonic VP2785-4K 27. It says it has set a calibrated profile on my monitor. It also says it read 100% SRGB and 99 % Adobe RGB. So far so good right. I use my monitor 90% for photo editing in Adobe Photoshop CC. So my question is once the monitor is calibrated as a custom profile do I simply leave it on that mode or do I now go back and select one of the several custom buttons presets on my monitor such as Adobe RGB or SRGB when working in a program like Photoshop. Does the calibration correct these mode presets as well or do I now no longer need to use any of them? In photoshop I'm working in Adobe RGB then I convert down to SRGB for web but embed the colour profile of Adobe RGB. So my thinking is after calibrating the monitor do I need to switch back to the Adobe RGB preset tab on my monitor to get true color representation whilst editing or do I leave it all on custom mode and edit as usual.I hope this question makes sense.
HiI have new xrite i1display Pro Plus device. Monitor spec Gamma 2.2, 160cd target...what i see in indesign is way off what i see on desk. now i use pantone printed palette for color matching.how to calibrate monitor to what i see on desk?today i will receive i1studio if this can help.
I received a logo file, but no information of the colour values. The colour values are needed for further work flow. Now, when I use Colour Picker to define the colours in RGB and CMYK, the values are different in Photoshop and Illustrator. Especially RGB varies a lot. How do I get best results? And when I then change the original tif-file to .ai, what colour profile would be the smartest choice? The original logo is in CMYK format.
Hi i am looking for Adobe CMYK profile to download but getting error the whole time
We have 2 brand new Apple Mac's with Catalina, and the most recent Mac sent to us is with Bigsur. The Catalina Macs run perfectly with Photoshop. The Bigsur Mac not so much as we can't dial in our colors on the printers. We use Epson F170 sublimation printers, which won't offer the same color options with Bigsur as we get with Catalina. We have played with the settings however find ourselves at an impasse as we need print consistency for production. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Hello.I have a problem with my adobe programs for a while now. All of them somehow darken my opened files and I don't know why. I did not touch the programs for a while and after I went back for the vacation and wanted to work on my files suddenly all programs changed there settings. I have some image example with my Adobe Acrobat and one of them opened in Google Chrome. It Is the same document but the one opened in Acrobat is much darker color for no reason. It is like that in all programs Photoshop, Illustraitor and InDesign. Is there anyone out there who would now what I did or can do to fix this problem? It is not really helpful when I want to work with colors. Thank you in advance!
Applications do not keep color synchronization set in Bridge. Synchronization remains active for some time, but then fails. I have reset the preferences of every single application and I have also tried to reinstall the applications, but I still have this problem. In my work I have to open files created by other users: it shouldn't be, but it seems that opening files with different color settings will corrupt the synchronization.Thank You very much, for Your help.
I was having a problem today with a photo changing colors between PS and AI. I have their color management settings synced. Thru trial and error, I found that saving it as a tif instead of a png solved the problem. A bit of Googling suggested that profiles are not supported in pngs in Adobe applications. Is this true? If so - why?

How can I resolve that ?Thanks for your help
First of all, let me say that I don't believe this is possible even with the most current version of Photoshop, but maybe I am wrong and that is why I am posting this question! NOTE: Some printing companies in the United States are now accepting Adobe RGB files for printing standard prints. Right now I am using McKenna, and I'm getting outstanding results! I've made some composite templates already in Adobe RGB, but I also have some templates that I've purchased previously that are in sRGB which brings me to my question. Can Photoshop effectively convert a sRGB file to Adobe RGB? Again, I wouldn't think so. I guess anything is possible in this digital world of ours, but my thought is how can something be created by something that isn't already there. It's easy to understand how Adobe RGB is converted to sRGB. The reason I ask is that one group that supplies sRGB templates says just convert from sRGB to Adobe RGB in Photoshop.1) Sounds like people will say
Hello everyone, I have this problem which has been touched upon before, as I have seen. This is what happens: 1. I shoot RAW, develop my RAWs in Lightroom or CameraRAW, then process them in Photoshop. All of that work is done in Adobe color space, both in the camera and the software.2. I save the processed photos as TIFFs.3. I then export a JPEG version from the TIFF, using the "Save for Web" option. I check "Convert to sRGB" and, as the JPEGs is intended for internet use only, I select "Internet Standard RGB (No colormanagement)" as Preview. The exported JPEG retains basically the same colors as the TIFF, all is good. If I ever need to reopen that TIFF to export another JPEG from it, using the same settings, everything is still fine.4. The problem arises when, for some reason, I do not go back to that TIFF (which may be archived on another drive), but open the previously exported JPEG again, for example to create another one of a different size: then, the JPEG that opens in
I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this but it's colour related so I figured it's close enough. I'm investing in a monitor very soon and have narrowed my search to two. The LG 32UN880 and the Lenovo P32u. The LG covers 95%DCI-P3 colour space whereas the Lenovo covers 99.8% sRGB, 99.7% Adobe RGB and 95% DCI-P3.I'm a motion graphics designer who's graphics predominantly go to air on HDTV, which is Rec.709 colourspace with the odd bit of gfx work on the internet (company homepages, Vimeo, YouTube etc)I've got a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can help me out with. 1. Can I get away without having a monitor that covers Rec.709 (I understand sRGB is similar?) 2. As I work in broadcast television GFX should I rule out the LG (DCI-P3) as it doesn't cover sRGB or Rec.709.3. If I were to buy a calibration kit, take the Spyder for example (https://spyderx.datacolor.com/shop/) can you calibrate a monitor that covers DCI-P3, to Rec.709 for instance.
