Picture in index.html file will load if I include "index.html" in the URL, but not otherwise

Here is the strangest problem I've ever encountered. I have an index.html file as the home page on my personal website. In that file, I have a link to a graphic (jpg) file. I have a duplicate of the site on my personal computer. The link works fine there. It also works fine online if I write "index.html" after the site name (e.g., "www.mywebsite.com/index.html"). But if I don't (www.mywebsite.com), I get everything I expect to get EXCEPT this one particular graphic. It doesn't show up, and the space it normally occupies is gone as well. It's as if the line of code in the index.html document didn't exist. The link, by the way, is to another URL, and if I copy and paste that URL into my browser, I get the graphic with no problem, so there's no issue of it being an invalid link.I hope I'm explaining this properly. The key issue is that when I input the web address into the browser field without adding "/index.html", I get a different (and wrong) result from when I do input "/index.html".

dreamweaver 4 et windows 10

Bonjour,Avec Dreamweaver 4 et windows 10, je peux créer un site et des fichiers, mais l'aperçu dans un navigateur ne fonctionne pas, avec renvoi d'une erreur de type fichier TMPxyz... non trouvé, et le site et les fichiers n'apparaissent pas non plus dans l'explorateur windows. J'ai essayé avec le didacticiel compass site, il se passe la même chose, sauf que le fichier d'accueil CompassHome.html apparaissant dans l'explorateur windows, je peux l'ouvrir directement dans le navigateur, mais pas à partir de Dreamweaver. Phénomène identique pour tous les navigateurs. Y a-t-il une solution ? Ce qui est étonnant, c'est que après avoir fermé Dreamweaver et relancé le PC, le site et les fichiers créés sont toujours présents dans Dreamweaver : Ils sont donc bien stockés quelquepart ?? Merci par avance si il existe une solution. (Jusqu'à présent, j'utilisais Dreamweaver sur windoxs XP).

HTML Email Blast Code - Dark Mode in Outlook Shows Areas of White

Hi, This is a partial snippet of code from an html email. The issue is with Outlook dark mode. - White areas appear above the logo, slightly below and to the right in the area of the right margin.I am unsure how to resolve inline within this code. Please advise. Mandatory multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Google Cloud access

Just received this notice:   Starting May 12, 2025, you will be required to use multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as 2-Step Verification (2SV), to access Google Cloud console, gcloud CLI, and Firebase console. table saved from indesign as an html doc . . .

I am creating a multi-page table (in indesign) that has a lot of information in some of it's cells. If I expanded the rows to show everything the table would be very long. Not what I want. I would like a way to save it in a virtual format that when you clicked or hovered on the cell, the hidden text would show up in a popup. #1) Is that possible, and how? #2) If not, are there any applications I can export the indesign table to that I can do this?  I managed to save the table from indesign as an html file, but when I opened it in dreamweaver it didn't look like anything. When I uploaded the files as is I was able to see the table on my web page, but the hidden text was not visible, and it did not show up when hovered or clicked. https://www.rahwayriver.org/seed_library_table/

How to stack images destined to be displayed as a slideshow?

Hi,I wonder if anyone could offer a solution to this:I added images that change automatically as a slide show on a page, using the descriptive found here:https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46519126/how-to-randomize-the-slideshow-image-in-htmlThe action works well. But the problem is that the 4 images, 350px wide, appear side by side in the page layout in Dreamweaver, and blow up the page layout. Adding more images would just be impossible.I suspect that the action described above is based on images linked to an external website and not hosted locally, and therefore they do not show up in the layout. Mine are on my computer. I wonder if there is a way to stack images in the preview, as there is for instance a possibility to reduce the code to one line for a set of lines in code view? I'm not very knowledgeable I must say. Just as a note, although a Creative Cloud user, I'm still using DW CS6 due to many Spry collapsible panels in my pages. Thank you.Paul

404 from an overlay menu and an API issue

this is new.. I just started to notice itIf you click on any of the social links after hitting the bento box menu..https://toddheymandirector.com/the new page opens up using the _blank attribute.. but the site returns to a 404 (null).. dont know why the HTML is correct.. One other issue it may be API  but I cannot figure it out  hit any thumb to bring up a movie here https://toddheymandirector.com/reel/ the bottom icon in the player is a play button (should be a pause bc it is playing) however if you hit it it stays on a play button but pauses - hit it one more time and it returns to normal function ie pause button shows up when its playing and vice versa - very strange.. any help would be appreciated!

Dreamweaver + Bootstrap inability to create basic links

Hi folks,  I’ve just returned to my Dreamweaver website project after circa 12 months and and am having trouble with some basics. Best to point out early that I'm not very knowledgable regarding coding. I’m also aware that Dreamweaver is very old school and outdated now but it is what it is and I’m not of an age to begin again. ;o) I’m now using Bootstrap in conjunction with Dreamweaver. 1.  Am I correct in thinking I used to be able to edit text directly in the “live view” window before saving ? If this is the case then sadly it’s not happening anymore.  The only way I can now change/update the text is to type it in the relevant space in the code then when I go to Real Time Preview I have to save it before I can view it.  I seem to remember I could simply type it in live view before previewing and saving ? 2. The most frustrating thing I’m encountering is that I cannot create any “links”.  For example if I highlight some text

How to make this a sprite sheet

Hi community. Im not sure if Im in the right forum, but I'm considering some people would know how to make sprite buttons, since Dreamweaver is website design software and not only.  Im in a situation which Ive never done before a button to make it into a sprite. And Im using photoshop to design these buttons, (because Im not a dreamweaver user). I was told to cut into 2 pieces the container (Section 4) which holds the 2 buttons in it, and then make a sprite, placing the buttons into it. But the container has a dropshadow. So I rasterized the layer. So How do I join the buttons to make a sprite? 3 buttons top and 3 buttons down? Is this a tricky situation?  I made some examples, just incase one of them is correct, but my knowledge is very little with making web elements.  I appreciate you help.
