We are back in the school, college or whatever holiday periods, so little is happening.My discussion is prompted by Nancys discussion on cheap web sites, (fiverr.com) and the rise of d.i.y. Site builders such as wix, and the frameworks such as bootstrap and wordpress. Along with the demise of Muse, and the lack of Dw having a clear plan for the future, (or do they).Given that almost anyone can build a site now, cheaply, and to a resonable standard using site builders or even programs like Dw, Wappler and webflow. Is it unreasonable to expect anything other than clients turning to alternatives to the traditional web designer/developer?We even offer to help those turning to those alternatives, simply by answering questions that they post in forums such as this. Some of us then go on to make public 'how easy it is' to build sites by those 'click to do' methods that Dw and other offerings use.If we think it is easy, and everything should be easy, then why should clients pay us to do anythi

Does anyone know of an application that will convert a PHP webpage created in Dreamweaver and convert it to a Microsoft Word document?There are many references to convert doc/docx to html/php but none that go the other direction.
I have encountered an issue where my un ordered lists don't show up, instead are just shown as text which is annoying because I'm trying to make a nav bar. Hi. I'm customizing a Bootstrap template trying to teach myself Bootstrap. Is it possible to set the max-width of the page? When I try to set the max-width in css under the body tag it only affects the width of the main section for some reason, not the whole page. Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but was speaking to someone from the Web support team and they suggested to post this here.I designed a website with dreamweaver, using background color to hide/reveal text on hover. This works fine in Dreamweaver and on IE/Firefox/Chrome on Windows 10 perfectly, however on Safari and Chrome on Mac, there seems to be a different calculation of the height of the background color. Firefox appears as should. It doesn't seem to be related to screen size, and developer tools shows that it's only the height of the "boxes" that is any different, while the width stays the same. Is there some chance that the ios/browser combination interprets the vertical ascent/descent of the web font differently? Any ideas how to get around this issue? If it helps, the font is Operetta8. Hi,I am a complete novice at this. I have worked out how to make a very simple form and for now have placed it at RailHope International as a draft and a starting point.I know the issue will be 'not having a php script' or something along those lines. But how do I get from here to a functioning web form? I have tried looking at tutorials, but have given up as the last on I looked at and followed, it got all the way to the end then said 'now you have created your contact form, but of course it won't work'. I could have thrown the computer out the window!Thank you for your time in reading this, I hope someone will be kind enough to help.William

The Preview function was working fine throughout my site construction UNTIL Dreamweaver said I needed to set up a testing server when I added a PHP script for a contact form. Now Preview doesn't work at all, in any browser or on any device. I'm attaching a screen grab of the error message.I think I understand the problem but don't know how to fix it: When establishing the test server, I specified the wrong path on my host's server, so Dreamweaver put the PHP script (and associated pages) in the root directory rather than in the public_html directory where the site is located. Is there a way to fix this? I don't know if this is helpful or not, but I also managed to get a screen grab of the Background File Activity dialog box while Dreamweaver was connecting to the test server.

As an aging writer who has become a very poor typist I'm plagued with typos that disrupt my train of thought. I spend half my time running DW's awkward and antiquated spell check utility while wondering why Adobe doesn't include the modern 'spell check as you type' utility that the rest of the world is using. I note that my 2000 version of MS Word has it. Even this box I'm now typing into now has it. Does it cost too many billions of dollars for Adobe to add it to the Dreamweaver web editor that I pay over $250 dollars a year for the right to use? Maybe its because not enough users complain. Or maybe many just quietly abandon Dreamweaver and start using Microsoft Expression. I already have that program installed on my computer and after talking to Adobe on the phone, feel like I'm being forced to start using it. This is all becoming quite beyond strange, knowing that Adobe Systems is a for profit corporation that should be sensitive to small things that might alienate customers. As it
