Help, I have not been able to do any work today as DW crashes everytime I try to do something.   I am on Windows 10 and have recently updated DW to v21.1.  This tarted last week intermittently but now is constant 

My page has a sticky menu. Let's say it occupies the top 70px of the screen. To hyperlink to a particular heading, I have to set the anchor 70mm above the heading so the heading is not hidden by the menu. I can do this easily by inserting a 70px high <div> between the anchor and the heading I want to display. But this means I have a 70px space in the page which doesn't look great, especially on mobile. Is there a smarter way to jump to a point 70px above my anchor so I don't leave big gaps everywhere? Or jump to the anchor and auto-scroll up 70px to reveal the heading?

Due to the upgrade to PHP 7, I need to rebuild a custom application but am unable to successfully connect to the database. The following error message is generated when using DMXZone Server Connect:"Invalid target configuration! Check your Web Server URL and the connectivity to it." Been chatting with DMXZone tech support but they're unable to determine what the issue is. They were able to run internal tests using my config and had no issues. Repeatedly gone through System Preferences and unable to find anything that might be blocking the connection. Has anyone had a similar issue and found a solution? Are there options beyond DMXZone? Here is the enviornment:MacOS 11.5.2DW 21.1Server Type MySQL 5.7.26PHP 7.3.9PHP extension mysqliMAMP 5.7DMXzone Server Connect 2, version 2.3.1DMXzone App Connect, version 1.9.21Database Connector 2, version 2.3.1 

When I access the class dropdown menu in the properties section of Dreamweaver, the list is populated by my defined classes AND a huge number of classes associated with bootstrap. For example, classes like btn-xs and col-lg-3 are listed. I am using bootstrap, but just a small number of its classes. With the current situation I must scroll through a long list of classes to the defined class that I want. Is there a way to filter the list so that only my defined classes display in the menu? I'm using bootstrap 3.4.1 and running Windows 10. My goal is to speed editing. 

Hi all.. I am wondering what to do with jquery pages and if there is an easy way to translate them into pure html or which framework to select to work out the migrations.   Thanks for advice. 

I know this should be easy but I just can't get it working. My site has a main topnav. It also has a submenu that jumps to various anchors in the body of the page.. In this example: the main menu opens the page "About Us". I set the "About Us' link active manually in that page. The submenu jumps to anchors in the body of the same page. They are "Who We Are", "Where We Are" and "The Journey". Because you can jump back and forth within the page, the active link has to be set with a script that highlights the choice you jumped to and unhighlights the other choices.  So far I have it so it will highlight the choice you jump to but it does not remove the highlight from the other choices. I like the snippets feature. Though it's a pain, if the snippets are longer than 250+ chars. Editing a snippets with ~ 1000+ chars is a pain, since there is not even an option for the window to expand in no manner whatsoever. 😞 There must be some config file where I might be able to change the standard size of the snippet window? This could also be a feature proposal, I guess. 

I built a website some years ago in DW - finally upgraded to DW8. I am running this on a PC . The website ran OK (still does) - Clarkstown60.com - Recently my PC upgraded itself (Windos 10 to Edge). When I tried to open the website (on my computer) it appeared to open but the screen just turned gray.    BTW This is a high school class site (60 years old - so not very active.) I don't want to do anything but fix the first page and let it stand in case anyone wants to look - but I don't want to spend a lot of money.)  Any help will be appreciated.

Hi all,Thanks in advance for any help.  I am a designer for a company that want to have more interesting landing pages than what we are currently able to create using a pre-made system that adds lines of either photos or text. I am looking into dreamweaver as an alternative,  as it creates HTML and a CSS file when saved. I have opened a pre-maid template to test, I copied and pasted the HTML from Dreamweaver to our page builder on visual soft (the website management company), I then uploaded the CSS to a file server on their site. I went through the HTML and changed the location of the CSS to the new location. When I click save and reload the live page it hasn't worked. When I go back to the HTML the CSS lines has been removed. Is this an error that code can't be taken from DreamWeaver? Or any advice?Thanks

Hey, so I'm completely new to DW. I watched a bunch of tutorials and wanted to extract now my mockup file to the created images folder. But it always tells me to choose the absolute path, even if I try and rechoose the folder of the site it just doesn't want to work. I guess I miss any point but not sure which one. Maybe you guys can help me.

Does anyone know if a newsletter (for e-mail) can be created with an Adobe app? I'm looking for a way to generate an electronic newsletter that emulates the function of Mailchimp or Constant Contact, and do it through Adobe >    Dreamweaver?   Acrobat Professional?   Illustrator?    InDesign?

We started working on a site after a while and now when we save a SCSS file it does not compile.We selected the Autocompile chackbox but nothing happens on file saving.We also de-selected the checkbox and tried to compile manually by clicking F9 in the scss file but nothing happens.WHat could be the reason?Last time we used the files all was OK. Thanks for any help on this.Franco

I'm going to purchase and Macbook and need to know of CC apps like Dreamweaver work well on the Macbook Air or if I really need the Macbook Pro.

I have several websites and I want them to share common assets - For now, at least a global css file. As this must be a common challenge, I anticipate there will be several different ways to achieve the end as well as several different opinions as to which is the best strategy.  My preference would be to have some mechanism setup to "clone-link" the css files in 2 separate projects, so that changes in one file are imposed on the other. Then I would still be able to work in the confines of a single project at a time.  An alternative, I can envisage, would be to have seperate projects \ websites link to a common css file which is served by one of the projects. Working offline, I know I can link an HTML files to a css file anywhere on the harddrive. But that would mean linking an HTML file to a css file that is outside the project folder and once the project is posted online, that outside link would be useless. I'm expect there is a smart, i.e. automated, way to change

I have been using Dreamweaver for several years without any problems. By mistake I used ‘find and replace’ to make some changes. I now need to edit to those changes. In Code view I copy and paste a tag with a different tag. This works for about a dozen times then the code page freezes. I have waited up to half an hour, but it does not unfreeze. I have closed Dreamweaver, started it again, changes I had made are there. I then continue but this time I can only make fewer changes before it freezes. If I repeat the process, then even less changes can be made.I have closed Dreamweaver and rebooted my laptop several times, again problem remains. I have uninstalled Dreamweaver and reinstall it, again problem remains.If I go into ‘task master’ Dreamweaver help is open several times, I have tried ‘End Task’ but either the problem remains, or Dreamweaver help does not disappear.I have tried looking on Google to find a solution but cannot find anything similar, probably because I am not asking th

So I have a lightbox++ on my site (built in Dreamweaver), with a jquery I’m using on the navbar of the mobile query part of my site, and from what I’ve gathered, they’re conflicting with each other. I attempted using the <script type="text/javascript">$.noConflict()</script> placed above and under the jquery script tags, as well as basically all over the place, and nothing worked.But placing the noConflict line would reverse what worked in that moment. So if the navBar was working without the noConflict line, with the line added, it would then not work, but then lightbox would not, and vice versa. So it’s affecting something in some way. I’m just not a developer or steeped enough in this stuff to get the navbar and the lightbox to simply work together. Some sites I see with the presumed solution, don’t take into account noobs like me that need to be deliberately walked through on where exactly to place the noConflict line and exactly how to modify it, given m

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could help talk me out of a slight problem that I'm having with Dreamweaver 2021. Basically, I'm in the process of building my own business website and I'm about halfway through but I'm having a little trouble with a search function on my store page. See, I've got the form objects with the search components functioning correctly however off to the side of that is the section where the main content gets displayed and so what I am trying to achieve is to have the search function button use the keyword text from the search field to do a filename search in the website image directory and have the results displayed in the main content section. I am having a problem with DW2021 and a new computer. Set up and installed everything about three weeks ago. iMac, 500MB HD, with the app and the website both installed on that drive. When I attempt to edit a page in the website, I get this pop-up: "contentsXXX.html is a locked file and can be viewed but not changed. What would you like to do with this file?" Can someone direct me to a resolution for this problem? I certainly have not locked any files against myself, and no one else has access to my computer, hard drive, or website.

I have a new computer, iMac, all files shifted on installation, with DW2021. When I try to upload a new document to the website, I get this pop-up: "Access to Macintosh HD:Users:admin:current files:[exact location and name]:_notes:dwsync.xml was denied." Everything for my website is on the same drive (the internal drive), and I can connect to my website without difficulty. Can't upload but can download. The file I want to upload is a PDF, and a new file. Can someone help me diagnose this and get it fixed? Thanks so much.

I have a server A and desktop B and C. I have installed DW on desktop B and C and edit files for a server A. Currently when I edit files at desktop B, it will be uploaded to server A, But the files at C are not updated. Thus I need to manually sync (download) from A to C each time that is cumbersome. Is there any way to automate the process?

I have an old windows computer that I've used to create my website. Can I install dreamweaver and my website files on my new computer as well?Thanks Jim

Strange – after having been perfect functioning links to Images and for PDFs some of them all of a sudden break up; and in a hap-hazard behavior. Some images next door on the page are still there while others simply disappear. This is in Chrome but the same phenomenon happens in Firefox.I tried to simply change names and make new links, but it’s like those particular spots on the page were “infected”. Inside Dw Real-Time Preview everything looks fine though!Can anyone explain this mystery?
