Hello everyone. My margin guides have disappeared. Also, all text frame borders are hidden by default — they only show up when I click on them. They used to be visible all the time by default, though. Does anyone know why this is happening? 

For example, my story has 4 text boxes, each with 2 columns.When I select some of the text in columns 2-4, I want to use a script to select all the text in columns 2-4.The green color in the sample represents the selected text

Hello. Brand new laptop (HP Zbook with touchscreen, Windows 10), just installed InDesign and open for the first time, I get this unfriendly "touch" screen (see screenshot) but cannot click (or touch) anything, or press any keyboard shortcut. I also tried what's described here without success (this is the first time I open InDesign on this computer). I'm running out of ideas, please help, thanks!   <Title renamed by moderator>

I have a parent page with a footer.  The same footer (with the same section name) is repeated on other pages.  On one page out of 67, there is an overset text error, although the footer looks fine (no text missing).  I right-clicked on the page thumbnail and clicked Apply Parent to Page, but that didn't solve the problem.  When I click off the footer in the layers panel, the error goes away.  Any suggestions?

Indesign 21.6 x 64 Windows 11I am working on a book with a lot of captions and need a style or shortcut that will set the caption box to a specific width. If it would also set the height to fit the content will be a bonus.  Thanks to those who know more than me,Joe

Hello Adobe InDesign team,I am André Coelho from Brennimark Fonts. We downloaded and installed the InDesign Plug-in SDK 21.9 for macOS and are validating an official sample before creating any product plug-in.On macOS with Xcode 27.1, the official CustomActionFilter.sdk.xcodeproj target Debug_Cocoa64 compiles the sample sources and SDK headers up to the link step. The link fails because the downloaded SDK does not contain the package folder that the sample project references:- libPublicPlugIn.a- InDesignModelAndUI.frameworkThe missing paths are under build/mac/debug_cocoa64/packagefolder/contents/macos. I also inspected the other Xcode sample projects: they reference the same debug_cocoa64 or release_cocoa64 packagefolder structure, so choosing another sample does not avoid this dependency.I checked the local Adobe InDesign 2026 installation. It contains the app framework but not libPublicPlugIn.a or the package folder expected by the SDK examples.Could you please indicate the official

There is a premise here: do not modify the baseline offset of the first line, let it default to 0.The offset type of the sample is' full angle box height '. The same problem exists when switching to other types.I used the formula in the picture, but I feel that the font size and line spacing have improved, and the correction I provided is also unreliable.Do you have any better suggestions?Thank you .I can't upload pictures

Quite often on Indesign the top bar of the application page is hidden at the top. And i cant move it down, as the function is at top right. Its a pity there isnt a hotspot for this at the bottom or side, so you can drag the page down more centered onto the screen. Yes I do have two screens, but when it happens i have to unplug the screen then readjust and then plug back in. Much easier if there was a hotspot!

Nun erhalte ich die verschiedensten Meldungen, die ich vorher noch nie auf irgendeinem Gerät hatte Ich habe es deinstalliert und nochmal probiert, das schließen musste ich mehrfach erzwingen weil nichts anklickbar ist (siehe Bild 1)Das komischte ist, wenn ich die Anzeigeleistung "Normale Anzeige" wähle, tauchen die Bilder wieder auf - zwar pixelig aber sie sind immerhin dargestellt.Sobald ich mir eine Grafik aus Illustrator rüberkopiere, hängt er sich jedes Mal kurz auf und scheint Probleme zu haben. We are working with an Indesign file where the pages suddenly turns grey, and the content on the pages dissapears. - We have tried saving the document as an idml file, but cannot open it.- We are using Indesign version 19.1 and have tried to open it in an older version, but that didn't solve the problem.- We have also tried to turn of the CPU to no avail.Does anyone have any suggestions to solve the problem? That would really be a great help - else it will be MANY hours wasted...

I installed Adobe 2026 on my imac. Now undo doesn’t work. It’s permanently grayed out. ID 21.2 on a Retina 5K running Ventura 13.7.8. If you look at screen shot, I can’t undo the neon effect I made or undo the letter ‘M’ I deleted. I’m opening 2025 ID to see if that helps.

What is happeningThe table starts at the top of a large text frame, but only a few rows appear on the page. The remaining table content continues on the following page, even though there is a very large amount of unused space underneath the first part of the table.I would like the table to flow together properly and, if possible, keep it on one page rather than having it split across pages unnecessarily.What I've tried  Checked Object → Text Frame Options. Vertical Justification is already set to Top. Checked Cell Options → Rows and Columns. Row Height is set to At Least, with a minimum of 0p3 and a maximum of 50p0. Turned on Show Hidden Characters but could not identify anything obvious that would explain the problem. Removed the footnote that was previously at the bottom of the frame, but the issue remained. Tried cutting and pasting part of the table to rearrange it, but this caused unexpected behaviour, so I stopped to avoid damaging the table. How can I make the table fit

Hello, is there someone using the plugin ID2Office 2.0 to convert a InDesign document to a PowerPoint. I have to produce often PowerPoint but I'm a graphic Designer so it is better for me to work in ID. I used to export as PDF and than convert my PDF in PowerPoint but I wonder if it is worth it, or have a better result to use this plugin.

I have a RIP that I rarely use but only works with version 12. (2017) i noticed that I can only download version 13 and 14 now.Will I be able to get a copy of v.12?

I need to stop the annoying pop up that is asking from me to use adobe express. 

Hi everyone,I'm experiencing a persistent lag when importing images into Adobe InDesign v21.6 on Windows 11 (v 25H2).Whenever I place an image, either by dragging and dropping it into InDesign or using the Place command there's a noticeable delay of approximately 6–7 seconds before the image appears.The strange thing is that the lag occurs regardless of the image's file size. Even small images of around 500 KB take the same amount of time to import.My system specifications: Processor: Intel Core i7 (12th Gen) RAM: 64 GB Storage: 2 TB NVMe SSD GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 What's particularly frustrating is that I never experienced this issue on my much older, lower-spec machine back in 2016, which had an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 1050.Troubleshooting steps I've already tried: Resetting InDesign preferences using Ctrl + Alt + Shift during startup. We are having an issue with a macbook pro running Mac OS 26.6 trying to save files to our file share. We are getting this very unhelpful “InDesign is unable to save this file. We tried, but it appears to be damaged.” error message any time we try. Already tried changing to using SMB as our connection protocol, but no change. What’s really weird is a file does appear, but its zero bytes and crashes Indesign if you interact with it. Notably after the change from AFP to SMB we got a similar result, but the file was 1.7MB, opening it caused Indesign to crash, and we can’t delete it due to missing permissions apparently. Some help would be appreciated.

In eerste instantie kon ik mijn werk niet opgeslagen krijgen in Indesign. Na erin te blijven werken, is bij het exporteren de inhoud van mijn bestand kwijt geraakt en is nog maar een heel klein beetje inhoud over. Kan iemand mij alsjeblieft helpen?

Hi, can someone please explain to me why my png images import in my fie with white backround instead of it being transparent , i have checked the swatches panel , everything but it still wont import without a backround.I have looked everywhere no one seems to know why it does that
